Arbelict's Proposal for scp 001
Basically in that proposal the foundation received a message from another reality that discovered that that every human decision creates another parallel universe and that there is a limit to the amount of universes so they decide to kill off most of their planet but accidentally cause another universe to replicate somehow (this the foundations universe)
My theory is that the scp 5000 universe is a universe that was created when the foundation received the message and decided that they would not kill the human race and because they made a decision a universe splits off where they made the opposite decision and they attacked humanity
If this is the case they are sort of justified

While the story for it is a mystery story genre-wise, the Scp itself isn't mysterious at all once you've read the whole thing, nor is it supposed to be. There's no theory-crafting involved or necessary, because it was supposed to be obvious by the end of your first reading that the reason the foundation was killing the planet was to get rid of pain, something that was created by an anomalous entity and isn't supposed to exist.
