Ah after all these years! I found the man who used his go pro while I operated. Great catch! Hope you enjoyed the ride. Brings back memories of the R62A.
Thanks, for a very great video. I was born and grew up in New York City---The Greatest City in the World. I will always miss it.
I miss it as well, but I'm sure I could never live there again now that my blood has thinned out after so many decades living in Southern California. I could not endure those brutal winters.
@@bronxboy47 I definitely miss living in Flushing and taking the train in to the city. I lived there for almost 28 years. Then I moved to Seattle back in 2001. These type of videos are sort of a nostalgic trip for me. Thank goodness for You Tube.
Nice look at pre CBTC. Actually can appreciate how the CBTC smoothed out the operation especially the timer zones.
When I was a kid in the Fifties, one of my favorite forms of entertainment was riding the elevated subway lines, both inside and hanging on the outside of the rear subway car. My mother would have had a heart attack if she knew that my buddies and I used to dare each other to walk along the elevated tracks in the Bronx. I'm also old enough to remember when the subway cars had wooden floors, wicker seats, and actual screw-in light bulbs. In my late teens, I lived in Long Island City and my getting-off stop was Queensboro Plaza. Heading home in the evening, the breathtaking view of the Manhattan skyline was a sight I never tired of.
Sounds like ur a retired subway surfer huh
...and survived....😇
This is indeed excellent. I feel like I've actually ridden the train!
When I was a kid I use to ride the subways in my city for fun. I was fascinated looking out the front window. If I lived in NYC I might have never gone to school. With 3 tracks I'm assuming express service is in only one direction depending on the time of day.
Ahh back in the old days there were a lot of these R62As on the 7 line. Now there’s a lot of R188s
I miss 5Pointz. I shed a tear every time I ride the 7.
That a subway hobbyist dream run. I from Harlem. My love. For the express runs still exciting to me today. I rode the. D line .
You should use grammarly it really helps with your English if you're not a native speaker

Being a driver in Australia, you would think i see enough out of the front window but i do like to see the setup of other railroads. I used to driver suburban electric trains but now drive 100mph country passenger trains. I like the fact that you have filmed with 60fps. I find that filming in 60fps really does seem to make it flow much better to the human eye. Good work 😊👍
I travelled on that rain that is my line. I love it. Thanks a lot
Love your videos I used To Take The 7 Train to queens but I like it Too 👍👍💖💜💜💜👍💜👍💜😄😄👍😀😀😀👍👍
These r62s were my favorite! But they got replaced with r188s
I'm mesmerized by how shiny the tops of the rails are!
When I took the subway the first time, it cost 15¢ to ride it.
Thanks for the Video!
amazing N Y C
I miss seeing the "Redbirds" on the 7 line
At least these don’t have the blurry glass. But they make it small to give privacy to the driver right?
I thought in other countries they allow you to see the driver and then the window in front.
3:34 What type of door chime is that
Which lines with r62 trains still use the railfan window?
When did they start covering it up?
No line uses the RFW anymore, since 2017-8 ish on the 7. The MTA first started covering up these windows in about the mid 90s
Los Angeles railfan here. The door chime in this video sounds different from other NYC subway videos. Is there a reason for that?
It’s just broken in the first section
Highlander movie place with Christopher lambert (silver cup) 17:04
What are the stations at 3:58 and 15:35?
How did you film this?
If are tired of waiting just click on this 0:53
What time was this taken? It's strange seeing Grand Central so empty!
Ex-cel-lent!!!
Rare
It goes a bit slow compared with European subways
Bobby Brady
Exactly. However He said “European” though. You misread his comment and were fast to bombard it.
It’s the same as saying “American Subways” and that is valid.
The lens being in partial telephoto compresses the scene and given the illusion of going slow. You can solve that by changing the playback speed to 2X.
@@robertgambling502 that may be true, but the nyc subway is considerably slower since the early 90s
ok
i live in queens ny i always took the 7 train r62 the r188 suck so badly
Cameron Buford The R188s DO NOT suck. If they did, then Kawasaki would’ve have not gotten that contract for the R211 cars.
"express" - walking speed is not express.
Great video but holy cow, what an underwhelming system.
I didn't know 45 mph was walking speed lol.
Bertie Wooster
Walking Speed❔❓ Huh❔❓
wwwww
Train is not walking, it's running!
So you walk at 20.9 mph normally? Can you tell me which planet you're from?
I miss those red-birds were still around. Those mother's could fly along the track.
