    • @VelcroKittie
      @VelcroKittie Před 5 lety +8

      I can't handle any of it because they are all linked and work together to cause you as much pain and suffering as possible. The sneezing is caused by WAY too much snot as well as that infuriating tickle at the back of both nostrils, and as a result of sneezing, the lining of your nostrils flare up making it impossible to breath. I blew my nose yesterday and my right eyeball popped! It then made a noise kinda like a sizzling sausage as shit came out my tear duct. What the actual fuck!? And the headache behind the eyes and general brain from incessant sneezing. All of this joy added into a bundle that slows down your healing because it's near impossible to sleep makes the common cold a proper motherfucker!

    I'm always surprised when people don't list sore throats among their cold symptoms. It is INVARIABLY the first symptom I experience when I get a cold, and it normally lasts 3 to 5 days. I've taken to asking people around me who I see on their first day of cold symptoms how their throat feels, and amazingly, a lot of them say it doesn't bother them at all. I don't get it, I feel unlucky :(

    Man, my throat has been so painful I couldn't sleep. I was working on something like 2 hours of sleep in 48 hours because of the pain. I became delirious last night...like I was halfway awake and halfway asleep and feeling miserable. I ended up in the bathroom for 30+ minutes and started to dry heave real bad.
    I don't know wtf happened...but at about 6 : 30 last night I legit passed out. I felt so bad...and...
    Omg, I've just gotten some of the deepest sleep I've gotten in years! And my throat no longer hurts almost at all! I still feel nausea, but I'm weeping because of how wonderful my sleep has been tonight and how grateful I am that I can swallow again without my throat absolutely killing me. I am just so happy right now!

      Some of the bacteria and viruses in your normal microbiological flora (for example on your skin) are opportunists, and will only be harmful when your immune system is out of balance. This way you can get infected by your own germs without ever being in contact with another human.

    I started getting a scratchy throat yesterday and woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I was going to die. Woke up this morning feeling lethargic and weak but the scratchy throat seems to be clearing up and I think I'll be back to normal by the end of today. It doesn't last very long with me but just experiencing that little bit of sickness is terrible. When I was a kid I used to get really sick. My throat would get so sore I couldn't swallow and the sickness would last 2 or 3 weeks. Now I'm a lot healthier than I was as a kid.

    Thank you so very much for the information.
    Most of my life I would first have a cold, the doctor will prescribe me antibiotics. You would take me about 2 to 3 weeks to get rid of a cold leaving me with a sinus infection, and more anabiotic’s. Even if I was not prescribed antibiotics, assuming that I took them common I would still be down for six weeks minimum.
    Into thousand 14 I decided no more anabiotic’s but tough it out. I succeeded, I also eat foods to feed the bacteria in my stomach. I have not been sick as I was before. I’ve had maybe 2 colds that were over with In about seven days or less. I once again have the worst cold I’ve had in four years.
    My dog alerted me about a week ago this something was going on, with his fascination with my left and nostril. I feeling under the weather on Monday, On Tuesday I knew I had a cold. Today’s Friday, and I am on the mend for sure. My chest is even clearing up. Since I am not accustomed to having a normal called the other person in good health would have I was wondering if it’s a two week period that you would be sick. At this rate I should be feeling pretty good bye Sunday and feel even better went Monday and Tuesday.

But still, wash your hands after you go to the lavatories and before and after handing food.

      Yes and no is the answer... it kills bacteria not viruses unless it contains alcahol.
      The bacteria that survives becomes stronger and then can pass on its immunity to oher bacteria it comes in contact with... aka breeding a super bug.
      99.9% is killed the 0.1% lives to spread its immunity ... hope that makes sence to you

    • @dylconnaway9976
      @dylconnaway9976 Před 5 lety

      Chris Dun You’re thinking of antibiotics regarding superbugs. Antibacterial and antimicrobial solutions kill bacteria through a different mechanism which bacteria hasn’t been able to adapt to yet. Alcohol essentially destroys the membranes of bacteria, which they cannot adapt to. That’s why for hand sanitizers to be effective, you need to let your hands dry completely after using it.

OK so you get the stuffy and runny nose, which is your body's immune reaction, but how does it make you feel ill? Like drained and lethargic. What is the virus doing to make you actually feel ill/unwell?

      Harry Jones Well obviously not all, but our immune system is spending most of its time fighting the virus.
      Maybe we just feel like crap to keep us from doing intense things so our immune system can do its work.

      +Ashok Tudu Unfortunately, taking the time to rest really is the best way to beat a cold. Getting lots of rest, drinking plenty of water and other fluids, and eating foods (particularly fruits & vegetables) with a variety of nutrients will help your body heal up as fast as possible. But lots of things can help ease your symptoms. Here's a list from HowStuffWorks: health.howstuffworks.com/wellness/natural-medicine/home-remedies/home-remedies-for-colds.htm

    I wonder what the threshold or tipping point is where you now officially have caught a cold. Does it take x amount of infected cells to where you are now feeling symptoms? Are the requirements the same when your immune system fights it off until you now don't have a cold? So if the trigger point is x number of infected cells means you have a cold, will you have gotten rid of it once the amount falls under that tipping point? ...or will you have been cured only when there are 0 and all infected cells have been killed?

    But people also congregate together indoors in the summer? So how come we mostly only get colds in the winter? There must be some correlation with temperature. Perhaps our immune system functions not optimally when our bodies are cold?

    Wait...what?? Around :45 it's saying that a fever means it's "the flu." But flu is actually short for influenza. So every time you have a fever during a cold, you could have influenza? Is that accurate? Double check information please!

    December 26th 2018 I started to come down with a cold and it's just gotten worse. This is a time of year I normally enjoy being out with family and friends socialising and I'm fucking housebound. Absolutely livid. I've been sneezing so much my eyeballs and head hurt and my eyes are so swollen I look like I went 12 round with Mike Tyson. I'm not even fucking around here...how much snot can one person actually have? And best of luck trying to get a proper night's sleep. I'm absolutely shattered and I'm supposed to be catching a flight on the 31st. So I basically have 3 fucking days to lose this bastard of a cold. It almost feels more like a flu with a really full on cold.
