Think we’ll be seeing a bit of GLovesCoaches here 😂 excellente video from you there G and I’m glad that was one of my native FlixBus coaches you were on! The 030 starts its journey in Glasgow 😎🏴
Haha glad you enjoyed E-Wan!
Great video G , thanks for your great energy, cheers
Great video!
"I really enjoyed Flixbus" as National Express strolls on through the background 😆😆
I really enjoyed your video, you are so pleasant and should really consider doing many more!
Awesome vlog G, first time I've ever here of this Bus brand. Glad to see you & Lucy Again on camera. One day, we got to meet up here in America if you guys are interested. ❤❤
Nice different one this week glad u got down to the big smoke nice and relaxed you two even if u had a long wait for that posh bus/coach a great watch as ever G thank you 🙂 👍
Lovely vlog, I'd not heard of Flixbus before, so thanks for that, be well 🧡
The more vlogs of yours I watch, the more I could sit all day and listen to you talk. A coach trip to London seems like the most boring trip of all, yet you made this vlog, informative, captivating and fun! Along with your unique editiing style and humour, yet another fantastic viewing. Excellent G!! Ray xx
Such an awesome ride! Thank you taking us along with you! 😎
Thanks!
@@GLovesTrains NO number two's in the coach Loo ....
the Flixbus coach looks amazing brilliant vlog
Awesome Video G Loves Trains
Very nice vlog G nice to see you survived the journey without the travel sickness even the coach has delays and diversions similar to the railway and also the cancellation i hope you both enjoyed your time in London ❤❤
Thanks Stuart, yeah we enjoyed the night 👍
Cool vlog G! Thanks for sharing, its given me inspiration for something I'm eying up for 2024...
Fantastic video as always
Nice video that G, have done London to Manchester on Megabus once, that was more than enough for me but it is a nice alternative if the trains for whatever reason aren't running.
Going to Glasgow by coach is ok and very scenic like the train journey is, hope you do more coach vids
I follow you because I enjoy your vlog and made me feel calm about travelling
Love the videos
GLoves you did it again with this wonderful and different trip to London, Kindest of regards Mark-Edwyn. 🚂🚃🚃
WOW......... Manchester to London, sounds like a great adventure
Another cracking vlog G, glad you avoided the travel sickness, the less said about the toilet the better and on long journeys could be shall we say, interesting!!! Looking forward to the next one, stay safe.
Even though i like trains i LOVE buses. Have worked with them for over 25 years and am contemplating starting to drive buses again part time for fun! Used to drive underground trains here in Stockholm before too, but a much shorter career with trains. The airport coaches have buses just like the one you’re on here…but in a nice silver color with a rainbow on them. Very nice looking and inclusive 😊
Brilliant video G, at least this came out before halloween lol. Never travelled with Flixbus in my entire life, I've heard mixed opinions about it but it's good to see that despite delays and what have you, you and Lucy had a good journey down to Victoria coach station.
I loved it! Thanks Reuben
Great film G.
Hi G,
Made a nice change riding a coach instead of a train. Glad you both enjoyed it.
Jon B.
Haha yeah thanks!
Thanks, as always. Over here we have Flixtrain.
Love the fact that one of the adverts that came on for this video was for FlixBus
Nice to see u doing videos again love watching your videos do u come from Cambridge I think I know u always keep watching
The price is good being honest but real shame about the start of the original journey, at least you got there in the end G! Great video
Haha thanks Cyber!
Traveled by FlixBus in Croatia and I loved .....
😂 ‘Bucket list’ and ‘FlixBus’ don’t often appear in the same sentence.
Great video and interesting fact about the interior👍
Great video, G! It's good to have cheaper options that the train if you're not too bothered about taking a bit longer. Other than the super-claustrophobic toilet and the occasional annoying passenger, it looked like a decent journey!
Yeah it was really fun tbh!
I wonder how they even make money charging only £8 per ticket.
Great vlog G. I’ve not been on a coach for years! I do travel sick myself on them. Them toilets are quite tight I’m suprised they don’t do a service station stop tbh. Nice review of flixbus. I enjoyed watching!
Thanks Sam!!
Great Video as always as were all your previous videos & have you caught the sun ?
There are always problems on the M1 by Milton Keynes, the lake you went past was Willen Lake, glad you enjoyed your bus ride.
Thanks for showing the ride. I’ve not tried Flixbus (or Megabus) yet, but enjoyed many a beetroot sandwich, pickled of course (the beetroot-not me)!
Love you : 😍
ah well, not a place to have an upset stomach! I have yet to be tempted by joys of coach travel, but am happy to use the faster (and dearer) rail services. My family in France do love the coaches, they often make long distance overnight trips by coach, generally all has been good, apart from some of the coach stations which can be very busy and feel very uncomfortable places.
Nice video
Loving Glovestrans ❤❤❤❤
Hi G that is my local supermarket since i left Manchester many many years ago ❤ There a several round London and sort of the size of a typical northern Co-Op.
Nice video 🇰🇪
Very interesting. At one time I would have never even considered taking the bus from Manchester to London, but your video has changed my mind. The designers have made the interior look quite comfortable inside, even cosy, where as new train stock is just the opposite- more like an aeroplane. Hideous colour on the outside though, but once your on board one can forget about that. Yes if I'm not in a hurry to get there I will seriously consider this option.
Cool, I like the lime green me
Hello, hope you had a good trip with Flix. Out of interest did it mirror this young lady's experience with the operator?
Seen the FLIXTRAIN in Sweden a couple of times; never been tempted mind!
A coach is a bus....but a bus isn't a coach much as a toad is a type of frog but a frog isn't a type of toad!
A coach is not a bus two different vehicles coach is more luxuries to seat in and buses are just to noisy as I’m a bus and coach driver and do u come from Cambridge
I thought the difference with a bus and a coach is that a coach has a toilet and entertainment but a bus has neither of these things ?
@@NikitaBenCarterNo, a toilet and an entertainment system doesn't differentiate a bus between a coach. A coach toilet is a actually an optional extra for the coach and so is the entertainment. All coaches are built without toilets, DVD's and, television screens as a bottom line spec vehicle. Those are added in options as a vehicle package. Much like how you can start off with a hamburger and ketchup. But you can add cheese, onions, tomatoes, as 50p extras to bring the burger up to spec.
I really want to go to London too! Been such a long time since i went last. And i have friends to visit…
Great review G. Flix bus seem like an interesting service and hopefully some good competition for NatEx and Megabus.
I'll be seeing which one (if any) is better soon on the London- Bristol route and give my ex coach driver view on it. 😊
Thanks! FlixBus was very enjoyable 👍
I normally take the night coach to Newcastle and to be fair the roads are way more chill
Hi G. You never felt sick because you were sat in the middle of the coach. If you'd sat at the back you may have felt a bit different. All the motion is amplified by being way out behind the rear wheels...looks like first coach being cancelled did you a favour...😊.
Hmm ill have to put that to the test 😂
I have had problems with travel sickness on coaches but find that the worst seats for that are over the wheels. I have also found that Kwells work well. I had a 4 hour journey from Brussels to Cologne (and another one back) and was fine with a mixture of Kwells and a good audiobook.
maybe that applies to air travel as well - ive noticed that being at the rear of a plane seems far more "wobbly" so to speak
You've branched out... G loves coaches 🤣
wow I would never do a long journey that caused me travel sickness - so credit for that - seemed pretty good value overall
Do the coaches have to do mandatory stops in each 2 hour period , and can you actually get off to stretch your legs a bit during that time?
Doesnt Milton Keynes have the largest amount of roundabouts in the UK?
Never heard of these but booked a return trip from London on Saturday.
They cancelled it with a couple of hours notice, stranding myself and young child in London on a weekend with a train strike on.
Ended up having to tab across London to catch a Megabus (they were extremely helpful.)
Never never never using these lot again (although to be fair I haven't in the first place as they cancelled it!).
thats a bit shitty to say the least - did you get refund/compensation for the cancellation?
i thaught i was going nuts seeing GlovesTrains turn into G rides buses or coaches if you ever need recommendations id suggest Yorkshire coastliner when theres a skyclass MMC E400 i had pride of the north liveryed 2019 and geezers hell it was that smooth i was nearly asleep
I imagine an Aldi Local is like a smaller version, similar to a Tesco's Extra however I've never seen one in my life either
Great video G! Actually used Flixbus on a cheap return ftrip rom Scotland to London in April. Despite the 10/11 hour journeys I found it to be a comfortable way of doing the miles. Helped by me reserving the seat next to me on both legs - a Flix option when booking and well worth the money. Was only able to get out of the coach at Manchester on the way down. The return journey to Edinburgh was pick up/set down only - no chance to get off... agreed re the dunny - small ain't the word! Would deffo use Flixbus again though!
Yay! Beetroot sandwiches! Me Mum used to make us beetroot sanwiches, from home-grown beetroot. A Manchester delicacy.
I’ve just bought four trips on FlixBus traveling through Europe and it seems very unclear as to where exactly the address is of where you pick up the buses. Any advice? Example Vienna, Austria has eight pick up Places.
Thanks both of you. We have Flix operating Cardiff to London services and wondered if they were any good. They look OK. Great fun as usual
They are shockingly unreliable.
the 940 is an absolute gem! I've never had a bad experience with it, except the bus not actually going into central london and requiring a change in heathrow
Hehe the loo roll in the bin is normal in some countries; down here in Brazil the sewage systems aren't great and sometimes it doesn't even get treated 😑. Coz of the small pipes most places have a bin in the bog for everything.
Rode La to las Vegas in 2023 Felix bus was a 5 hour ride
Please go live again!
Could you add subtitles to your videos? CZcams autocaptions notoriously unreliable and for those of us that need them, they'd be really useful.
Other than that, please keep making these! :)
How is the air during a long drive ?
Hi G am a driver testing the new tyne and wear metro 555 and am wondering if you would like a look around it maybe join us on testing so we can show you what we do
Whippet coaches have 12 23 plate Neoplans with Black and Green interior
I never been on flixbus looks like a good service . Have you ever tried the seven valley railway at kidderminster it travels to bridgenorth you have stream trains and the old diesel trains to . Great video
Thanks and not yet
You've got absolutely stunning eyes 🤩
Are you sure first coach was actually cancelled? Because Flixbus seem to have some issue. Travelled down to London from Leeds other day, booked via work, so didn't see cancellation text till I got back. It ran normally, I was on it!!!!! Different coach to yours, it was horrendous!!!!!!! I'm 5'8" and my knees were wedged on seat in front, no space at all! seat hard as a rock, headrest didn't even reach my head! Aching all nest day, and I'm used to roughing it! Travelled back National Express, and that was like Orient Express in comparison!! Flixbus was brand new and a Nedplan body, seat was all grey, not that red line. Hopefully next gig I go to in London there won't be a rail strike!
There is a reason flixbus is known as the never again bus.
I pass an Aldi Local somewhere on the X26 bus route, I think it might be Sutton, but it’s a fairly new thing.
Sainsbury’s and Tesco have lots of these small shops but Morrison’s can’t make their mind up, they opened a few as My Morrison’s then sold them off and the new owner closed down soon afterwards. Morrison’s recently bought Mc Colls and the shop from that chain in New Addington was being re-branded last week. I can’t remember what they’re calling the Small Morrison’s shops this time.
Morrisons Daily haha

Thank you. I’d forgotten what I wrote and you were replying to, and had to look it up. I’ve been watching the trailers and a director’s interview for the Barbie Movie; it’s very funny, but I think it’s destroyed my Brain. There’s no way it’s aimed at children; they would never understand much of what’s in it. I used to be a part time cinema projectionist, but had to give up due to failing eyesight, and am now retired from all work. There’s no way I could sit through an hour and a half of this at the cinema unless I could wear a Barbie dress and a blonde wig. Apparently they do actually make Barbie clothes in adult sizes, which is in itself quite worrying, but at least in America it’s impossible to buy them at the moment as they have totally sold out to people wanting to wear them to the film.
Surprised they use the coach station proper at Victoria, would have thought the no frills price means they would stop on the road outside
I used to drive a service to victoria and if we stopped at hammersmith the coach would practically empty as people who had no onward travel would pick the underground up from there
Was waiting to see if you'd put 'damp' knickers on your head at the end.
as for coaches i got surprised to actully see a Mercedes Turismo being escorted through leeds market (open section) while browsing a model stall witch had collector coins on the other end luckilly i had me camera with me to use to capture a photo or 2 of the coach seeking through the market witch i found quiet unusual as ive never ever seen a coach travel through there
I'm scratching my head about how/why this coach goes from Manchester to Birmingham city centre via the M6 toll? Anyway thanks to G and all coach reviewers for doing these trips so I don't have to! 😍😍
Haha cheers Simon!
From Manchester to Birmingham, the coaches use the M56 and M6 not the M6 Toll
@@sgauld2004 That's what I thought, but what are the toll booths at 6:47 and 7:20? Definitely looks like the M6 toll to me.
Perhaps it went the full length of m6 toll then M42 then headed along M6 to Birmingham city centre. I seen a coach go the other way on this route
It's avoids the bottlenecks of traffic round The M6
Hi, I’m a really big fan!
Any advice for me, an aspiring travel CZcamsr?! Thanks!
P.S: your channel is awesome!
Hiya, thanks a lot Nate! I would say just make videos you enjoy making and only do things you feel comfortable with 👍
Hope you enjoyed your journey even though you had a cancellation, it was good that Lucy was with you for company, great video again 👍👍✅✅
Best time of the Day and Week! Hope you have a good time in London, next time Plane from Manny Airport to London???/
Hmm we'll see 😂
@@GLovesTrains Imagine though! That's on my bucket list!
Hardly any flights from Manchester and London now,
@@s125ish yeah but they're occasional but it would be funny to do.
Hey. What do you think of flixbus
What have we here? GActuallyLovesCoaches?! Not having a huge amount of railway-based travel options up here where I am, I end up on coaches quite a lot. That Flixbus coach looks pretty good, to be honest.
Hi living in the countryside without septic tank water flushed through reedbeds all toilet paper not flushed is taken outside and burnt glad you not sick best wishes from Wales martin.
Great video! 🥳 I've used FlixBus twice when I've had to get from Amsterdam to London short notice for cheap. In my opinion, for what you pay, it's quite good. When I've used them, it was comfortable enough to travel the 8 hours with opportunities to stretch your legs. Back in 2019 it was less than £30 one way from Amsterdam Sloterdijk to London Victoria. I assume the prices have gone up somewhat, but I'm guessing the services are the same.
Thanks! That's great 👍
Are you able to bring a small carry-on bag actually onto the bus. Example 21 inch
Yes you're allowed to bring hand luggage 👍
Hiya! So, it is Shudehill Interchange now. I remember the older coach station, is it still going?
Yeah. The National Express Coach Station on Chorlton Street is still operational. There are two Coach Stations in Manchester City Centre. Megabus and Flixbus go from Shudehill Interchange. National Express go from Chorlton Street.
@@MultiRob77 Thank you. I would have thought G would have been more interested in Chorlton Street.
At 0:3:59 you can see the bus is set to german. Or does the display rotate more than one language?
It was that throughout
I get coach sick due to the bounce of the suspension and the carpeted seats.
wao
The distinction between "coach" and "bus" must be a UK thing lol. In the US, just the word "bus" is used, though usually described as "city", "Transit", "intercity" or "long distance" depending on the situation.
In the UK, the difference between Bus and Coach is as follows.
Buses are defined when moving high volumes of passengers on routes, usually in major cities or towns, and linking out to suburban areas including villages, with numerous Stops en-route for passengers to get off or board. Vehicles are generally built to a standard seen across the UK, though Transport for London has their own London only specifications that manufacturers have to comply with.
Coaches are however defined as moving potentially large numbers between major cities and towns, but with much fewer stops, if any, en-route. The distances are far longer than the city or urban routes. These vehicles are of a much higher quality with added facilities on board, such as luggage holds underneath, an on board toilet, air-con or forced air ventilation, reading lights, sometimes curtains too. and a better level of comfort too.
Note, the likes of Flixbus, Megabus, all operate with partner coach operators, which supply the coaches and drivers from regional or city locations, and the vehicles are operated in the respective liveries. However, vehicle standardisation may differ on different routes, and even on some routes, last minute hired in vehicles may differ from the norm. Nat Express operates slightly differently using coaches and drivers from major fleets based around the country, in NatEx fleet livery.
@@iainjones5002 very nice! thanks for the detailed explanation!
you should go for a trip on the Eurostar
FLiXBUS is German, where everything is just a [Bus]. A coach is a [Reisebus] (travel bus), as well a [Stadtbus] (city bus), [Regionalbus] (regional bus), and so on. In the end, a coach is a bus anyway :)
G.......what are you doing on a coach......you're the train queen 🤣🤣🤣.
Hope there is one near mine. Twisted mellons G :)
Nice video. Flixbus is basically same as National Express, Megabus in terms of service I don't see any difference. Bus journeys are quite enjoyable and way cheaper than trains which are too expensive cross-country. I can't tolerate more than about 5 hours though and it's pot luck whether you get a good neighbor or preferably no neighbor at all! In some parts of the world there are 24 hour+ bus journeys I can't even begin to imagine that!
Im a terrible traveller - anything over 2 hours and severe boredom sets in though to contradict that I know as a kid I did a few overnight bus trips taking about 8 hours - maybe its a thing that annoys me as an adult
I'm going to be honest I'm not a fan of coach trips because they do make me feel sick sometimes. I remember back when I was in primary school we went to see wicked in London and the coach had no air con, so Coventry to London in I think June time with no air con 😭
I've always believed that when travelling by coach in the UK, The North to South routes should be slightly cheaper as they are going downhill and therefore dont use as much diesel.
RE: Aldi Local, It's a idea from The aldi stores in Yorkshire, Local stores for Local people. 😮
Also the are almost all in places with no parking. They are aimed at people who walk in. We also have some around where I live that are branded as Express (Tesco, Sainsbury's, and Waitrose) That stock only things like snacks, ready meals, and such. We have a big university, so lots of students early who haven't been away from home before and can't cook!
I haven't done a long trip by coach since '70s and I love going by train. However I know that coaches have improve a great deal since then. I live in Kingston in SW London and there are a couple of big private schools around here. They have contracts with a local coach company to pick up students and take them home. They have some of the same Volvo's, but the are battery electric. The borough is implement some low- and zero- emission zones, because residents had been complaining about the coaches sitting idling.
I do like your videos on trains. You are a quite a character!
I drive a coach up and down the UK and unless you drive one yourself you have no idea how much fuel a coach uses on a trip. Its not as simple as that and its not a case of using less fuel one way and more the other. Nice theory but thats not how it is at all. Coaches do not constantly sit at 62mph 'sipping' diesel as they perform a North/South 'Downhill' journey. They are not cars set to economy cruise control. To maintain 100km/h they actually have to kick down or drop a gear to overtake a car or an HGV or to go up a motorway incline wherever they may be. And they will drop to around 4-6 to the gallon when they do this. I think you will find a North to South journey burns the same amount of diesel as a South to North journey despite the theory. Coaches average 10-12 miles to the gallon on a motorway. They also use and consume additional Adblue too if they are Euro 5 and Euro 6. So they won't be able to cheapen ticket prices for people to go from the North to the South. That is not how it works at all.
12:04 wtf is that guy doig in the background??
What will you be up to in London?
Travelling away from London 😂
Don't think I'd be happy doing a coach trip these days (used to like it), but using buses or trains allows me to take trips in greater London (freedom pass) which is great. Trips to Kingston or Thames Ditton) are useful and fun for me to do family history research. Really like the stations and surrounding areas.
That's cool 👍
G how much did that cost to go that London,,, did i hear u say its £7.99p to get to That London is that 1 way or return ?
All fares are one way.
