Great! We make the same in Fiji. On Chinese fishing vessels, they use 4 or 5mm fishing lines of the same length as the coconut frond spines; attached to normal broomsticks, that are not as thick as our traditional broomsticks. Brooms such the ones you made in the video are called "taufale" in Fiji.
