So as the tittle suggests, today’s video is all about the italian way of dressing. Having an italian background, I am obviously bias, but I think there is so much to learn from this amazing culture. They breathe everything beauty and art and I think we all can benefit from learning a bit of their thought process.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did :)
I’m so grateful you share this space with me!

A little bit about me.
I've styled thousands of women from all over the world for the past 12 years. Having lived and run my consulting business in cities like New York, São Paulo, Doha and finally Sydney, Australia. I have also worked for luxurious magazines early in my career and have fashion and business degrees. My passion is to help women elevate their style in a smart and sustainable manner. I love discovering new brands and sharing them with you.

I love this aesthetic & attitude. It's what I lean towards most. The French teach good basics but the Italians transcend, in my opinion. Brava Silvana. 👏❤
That's exactly it!
I love it when you feature italian dressing! I’d like to know more, such as, what are italian basics? What pieces do italian women always have in their wardrobe? I’m fascinated by Italian women and how they dress.
Loved your advice on Italian fashion silvana, I enjoyed all the pieces in your wardrobe you are very interesting and it's clear how much you love clothes that give impact !
I appreciate how you expressed the difference between French and Italian style, very interesting.
Bella, as a first generation Italian woman, it was my Father who was born in Roma that I got my sense of fashion from. I love clothes, shoes, accessories & jewelry. One of my favorite things to do is to Play in my closet. Along, with your tips I truly have a blast.
Mile Grazie Silvana!
My father was also born in Rome and always loved fashion. He went to the Art Institute of Chicago in his 20s and pursued a degree in Costume Design. I grew up with a love for fashion and style and continue to enjoy this in my 40s.
Prego :)
Hi Silvana! Love all of the looks shown in this video! Wow, so impeccable!! Have a great weekend!! xx
Aw thank you, Celia! Glad you like the outfit ideas. Have a great weekend too x
I love Italian style, food, culture and everything! It's also the most beautiful language in the world in my opinion.
Excellent video, thank you!
My pleasure!
Hi Silvana, I’m a new subscriber and find your videos most inspirational. Thank you so much in refreshing my ideas of dressing 👏💐
Fascinating, you said a signature scent can fade away for oneself. I found my signature scent had done just that. I picked a few fragrances I rotate now, and I can smell them. 😊
Thank you for sharing your experience! It's amazing how our relationship with scents can evolve.
I love to watch all your videos over and over 🎉
Good to know! I admire Italian women’s fashion and style! 🌹❤️👏🏼
FINALLY!!! I have been waiting for a video like this, there's not much info for women but plenty for men. I have not even watched the video but Im excited by the title.

I had an interesting thought while watching your video and wondering if you, or anyone else in this community has an opinion?
You mention that Italians prefer “quality over quantity”. I had a British father and Ukrainian mother. Quality always came first, regardless of quantity or how long you had to save. I was taught to buy the best that you could afford. As a consequence, I always look for quality first.
I was born in Canada and upon reflection, those that I know who also share a recent European background, regardless of their interest in style or their budget, seem to favour quality in all things. My friends with an Asian, South American, or multi generational North American background tend not to place nearly as much emphasis on quality, particularly if it costs more than any alternative. They tend to focus more on “a bargain”.
Certainly an appreciation of quality is not restricted to different ethnicities but I wonder if, in general, Europeans have been influenced in their upbringing more so than in other areas of the world, regardless of budget?
I don’t believe that either is right or wrong and again, this is a very general statement but, curious if anyone else sees this as a cultural difference?
Mass manufacturing made it possible for Americans to own a lot of clothes. After the deprivation of WwII and the Depression, this was a revelation! Over the last two generations, we've completely lost any concept of what quality looks like.
Absolutely yes.
@elenachristian9860 sadly this is so.
That's exactly it! Even in Brazil growing up, everything was made there and I still have items from when I lived there over 20 years on, sadly today, even our shoes which was a huge industry, are made in South East Asian countries.

Un abbraccio dal Belgio, complimenti per i tuoi video's.
Ciao Agnes, grazie mille di cuore ♥
Those jeans! I must have them!
Glad you like them :)
I have a European background however had a mother and grandmother who cared very little about their looks or fashion. They bought our clothes from the cheapest place possible. I never learned about fashion until in my thirties.
Hi Debra, thanks for sharing. It's never too late to start a style journey, right? It's just a question of one having the willing to do it, the information is out there x
Love this episode, Silvana! Just curious, how many languages do you speak?
Ciao Angela, so glad you enjoyed it. I actually speak 4 languages :)
Please share the name of the fragrance you used to demonstrate how to apply perfume.
Hi Sonia, it's Fresia by Santa Maria Novella :) bit.ly/4c0PcuW
