Maybe it should be rebranded?
Asian culture is not just Chinese.
Maybe "Little Asia" would be a better moniker.
"Chinatown" is American history but the name was applied by Caucasian Americans who associated all Asians with China.
"Little Asia" is more correct.

Does this mean they are bringing back the Opium Dens that riddle Market and Larimer streets as well?

I'm not sure why that would be a bad thing. Opium is not as evil as it has been portrayed in the media and the law. Anything can be abused.
