Just started shooting over a year ago at the age of 49. Bought myself an old used 50lb@28 Bear Grizzly in July 2013. I shoot cedar arrows only. I am so addicted to shooting this old bow that I have literally shot it more than 30000 times since I've purchased it. I use it at the indoor range, outdoors, Medieval events, and this year at 3D archery tournaments. Recently scored a 160 at a 20 target 3D tournament. My best score so far. Total pleasure to shoot a bow that has not changed in over 50 years. If this old Bear ever does go I would get another one. My only regret is that I didn't discover archery until so late in life.

Traveler2112 I have three bear custom kodiak takedowns ( all three Gainesville models ) and three bear grizzlies ( one Gainesville and two Grayling models ). My first bow was a bear green bear that my Dad bought me when I was 10 years old. At 12 years old my Dad bought me my first bear grizzly which I still own and use. I'm 57 years old now and still shoot bear traditional bows and cedar arrows. I've shot a lot of different bows over 48 years but the bear grizzly will always be my favorite. Next I want to get a Bear Super Grizzly. Better to discover something later in life than not at all.

Took 2nd place this year in both North Carolina and Virginia in the ASA 3D State Championships for each state shooting my old Grizzly in the traditional class. Was really happy with that. Might actually try the hunting at some point. But I'm having fun with all the tournaments right now.

Bear should make a new version of this commercial. You sell a bow that adjust from 70 pounds down to 15, with a kids draw length. Make it Christmas time and have mom staring at a stack of bills, and a folded American flag on the wall.
I never gave a compound away, but I have given away so many Bear fibreglass bows to kids over the years. Some have grown up to become accomplished adults, including some hunters and archery champions. Yup. I think I do, too.
