Hey bud I'm starting a mealworm farm and I was wondering if oatmeal was a good substrate or did I need something more finer... Also I was wondering if I should keep the mealworms in a cold or hot temperature
What do I need to start my own "farm" of meal worms? I have a bearded dragon that I got about 3 or more months ago and he is still kinda little but I want to save money on his food
Not much! Some sort of tank- a large critter keeper, a 10 gallon aquarium, a Rubbermaid tub- mealworms, and substrate (I use quick oats personally, they work really well)
Nice! Makes me hungry for some reason
brakleera60 me too
I ain't no lizard

Thanks for sharing. You've came a long way. What did you use to start breeding them? Like specific sized or age mealworms worms ?
Where are the egg laying beetles?
Hello Garrett, thanks for the red potato advice. Do you put them with the beetles too?
God's blessings to you and yours, Lin
I dont have any beetles currently, but I imagine they would thrive off of them!
Lin Carr I feed my beetles red potatoes and carrots
What k8nd of soil are you using? Do you have to keep it moist?
Is it normal to get dead meal worms every day
Awesome
thanks violet!
