Lies. Counter revolutionaries were locked up for trying to defeat the revolutionary government. Those executed had committed crimes durring the Batista era and their were no plans for multiple parties or multiparty elections. Those are CIA made up lies sold by the US Gov't. They did not want a party system where those who can tell the most outrageous lies are elected to office like in the US system.
