I love the design of all these kind of units not just the Sears ones. A lot of companies used to do it like Sears, First Alert SA79TA, the Whelen TRE thing that I found in a house, The ESL 709-2, a weird NuTone that I found, and your Olive square TC49A. For whatever reason it’s just stopped. Even with modern companies discontinuing the black nest protects and the first alert atom finishes like copper, silver and cherry wood. And for Sears made a bunch of different versions like this and not just the F900D variant. They made BRK ones, Pyrotronics GuardION ones, and of course the Lifesaver ones. I’m unsure if Gateway based models existed but that’s a question that will remain for now. We have yet to see the rest as an SS749AC variant probably exists since the SS74R ones did. And if this is a thing, you need to find the Walnut Sears F900D with a heat sensor to complete your series. Maybe you’ll find one perfect NIB in the next thrift store for -100 bucks! 😂
That is such a cool unit. And I like how it is higher pitched than the regular Sears unit. I can again only imagine how rare those are and I am glad you got it. You were definitely in the right place at the right time for sure!!!!
Would match a wood plank wall or ceiling. However most houses started to get rid of that hence why it may not have lasted long. Also I thought the middle part was metal, not wood grain
