  • Carla was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2012.
The cancer was inoperable and Carla went straight on to a course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, including brachytherapy.
“I got the all-clear the following March, then on 20 March I entered into a civil partnership with my partner of 20 years - two life-changing moments.”
Carla decided to take on the Great Canoe Challenge as she heard about the challenge on the same day that she received the sad news that one of her friends, who she had gone through treatment with, had died.

Some dysplasias need medication or supervision, while others do not. Dysplasia is exemplified by a dysplastic nevus (abnormal mole) that forms on the scalp. Thank you for taking the risk of sharing this!
