Common Question I receive:
Q: How do you take bookings?
A: I am a Check Cherry photo booth booking software user, Booqable rental software user and a Party Cad 3D tent modeling software user. (They’re my secret weapons for taking bookings)
For photo booths, DJ’s and photographers I recommend checking out 🍒 Check Cherry 🍒 .

Can you make a video on how you explain and sell the difference between the pop-up tents and the pole tents thank you in advance.
I love your videos!
Youve earned a sub good sir. Im looking foward in starting my own here in AZ. :)
Hi Lee, thank you so much for your amazing tutorial videos. They are fun to each and educational.
Thanks to your inspirational vlogs, I have just started my rental business here in Sydney Australia.
I have one question: I want to buy pop up tents with window pane walls but I can not find the window walls, especially for the bigger tents like the 20x20. Where do you buy your window walls from?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Lee, happy Eventing!
Hello, I love all your videos. I'm in the process of setting up my own rental business too.
Just a quick question, when you first got your 30x40 High Peak Frame Tent, did you have a hard time setting it up or was it straight forward to put up?
What is tool you use to hammer the stakes, what's is called?
What brand pop up tents do you use? We have been having issues with ours.
Where do you get your 20x30 marqee tent from😮
I need to get side walls for my pop up tents. My tents are grey. I need grey side walls. I am going to keep looking.
They are called Ozark Trail sun walls. They are everywhere. Amazon, Walmart website, eBay.
@@therentalguy thank you! Found my color too
This is very good, really love it. Can I get your contact in case if I need something like this.
Why do you have high peak tents vs frame tents. Is because it. Takes longer to set up frame tents?.
High peak frame tents are a standard in my area. Plus people like them more. Nobody has west coast frame tents out here.
Must be tough for a Canadian to show us in ft as opposed to the metric system
😂😂😂😂
Where did you buy the hand crank llift?
It’s a tent jack. Where are you located?
hey dude what is the most popular size for the customers to rent?
It’s all over the place. I use 20z30 marquee tents to create different sizes. So 20x30 tent is my hottest seller for that reason.
What brand high peaks do you have?
Warner Shelter Systems.
Wait, so you can put up all those tents solo if you need to?
The marquee tents I don’t put up solo. But everything else I have I currently can.
how do you deal with property surveys for tents greater than 600sqf? The city is asking for building permits and asking for those. Do you have that in your province?
My province is very lax.
I am in Chicago. I recommend that you explain to your client that any tent surpassing what it’s required by the city/ county will require a permit. Also, the permit it’s mainly for public places.

How many people can fit in a 30 x 20 tent?
Look up 20x30 frame tent template in google image search.
Lee! Can I use a couple of your pictures with pop up tents and bistro lights set up?
Yes,
You can use all of the photos that you want.
I can even send you some with your branding attached if you want.

You should be at the point where you can lay out the tent and just walk off 4 or 5 feet. Save your self some time and getter done.
Randy,
There you are. I was wondering if you still watch my videos.
True, that is one thing that is the bane of my existence (how slow I get setups done).
I am trying to get into the habit of squaring. I want my guys to do it and I want to pre square locations prior to setup for ease of setups when I won’t be around.
However I should take a page from the book of Randy as you are my go to tent question guy other than Les and Adam.
@@therentalguy les is numero uno!
2 grand for that pop up tent setup is insane… I hate criticizing but wow man….
There isn’t much to criticize. Delivery and setup is going to cost as much as the tents. If that customer wanted to pickup the Popup tents themselves, haul onto the green, setup in the 50k winds that were going on during that setup and take down after the event they could have gotten the booking for $800-$1000. They would rather pay for the service than have to do the work to save the money.
Let this be a lesson to you. Customers don’t always want the cheapest option and delivery and setup can often cost more than the actual product rental.
This is the only way to grow. Time Vs Money.
@@therentalguy I’m not sure where you’re at, but I’m in Houston, and I have some decent tents(much better than any pop up tent) and people here cry over a $200 fee for a 20x20 pvc fr tent. That includes everything you do. So to see you charge what I’m assuming is about $400 for each pop up tent is just crazy. But if they’re willing to pay, then why not charge that much. I guess the criticism is more toward the customers who willingly pay the prices. Not your fault you have such clientele
A 10’x20’ popup goes for about $200 (cad) in my market. We don’t even give customers a chance to whine about it. If they say something about how expensive it is we suggest that they pickup and do the setup themselves as it is the most economical method for them. Once you draw the line the customer will choose or move on. And since we have our items competitively priced for the level of company we are and the level of service that we provide we still most often get the gig. I’m not sure what size of customer that you are catering to, but for us we have worked up to having some corporate clientele. And corporate customers will opt in for delivery and setup 9 out of 10 bookings because it’s a lot easier to spent the company’s money than their own personal money.
So, in closing just remember that there are different tiers of customers and you should have options available for the right price. Because if you lower your delivery and setup rates your margins for growth will diminish.
Always strive to cater to higher tier of customer but be prepared to have options for a decent price to secure enough bookings without selling yourself short.
I wish I was in Houston. There is soo much potential there. I’m in Saskatoon. Try having a tent company in a market where it’s -40c for half of the year.
@@therentalguy ah Canadian lol… that explains it
