    Cosmic Cool
I own a 2015 K900. My son and I put it to the test down through eastern Ohio and though the mountains of West Virginia, Virginia and Tennessee. It handled as well as my both of my Lexus LS 460s and has more power and features. Mine is equipped with the VIP pkg which adds some features that my LS 460's do not have. The LS 460's get about 6 mpg better highway gas mileage, but require premium. The K900 Tau engine can use regular, which saves about $.50/gallon in Tennessee, but the power output drops from 420 hp to 407. That is still 27 more hp than the LS 460, and it certainly performs well. The best thing is the warranty, which most of the industry cannot compete with. I get a lot of questions about the car and a lot of stares, because most people have no idea that it exists until they see it. My wife and son love it. In fact my son he liked it better than our 460's, after his initial drive through the mountains. The one issue is that only certain Kia dealers are authorized do any warranty work on the car, so I have to travel at least 80 miles to an authorized dealership. I've owned quite a few luxury vehicles including an Mercedes S-Class and 5 Lexus LS's and I think it competes well within the luxury class, but it does not have the brand pedigree........yet.

This car seems real smooth and would attract old school Caddy/ Lincoln drivers. I owned a Caddy STS and loved the smooth ride and all day comfort. The Equus has more features for a little bit more $. I don't think it will pull from Lexus crowd because Kia (and Hyundai) are newer players in the luxury market. But, value conscious buyers may be swayed to them. I'm not sure it's ready to command $60+K, yet.

maybe this one isn't defective. Our 2015 K900 VIP has been in the shop 29 of 55 days we've owned it since 3/9/15. The parking brake has a defect that makes the car shudder like you've been hit, when in reverse. It came back from Cottonwood Kia after being there over 3 weeks and the noise is worse, 2 paint gouges on the front hood, uninstalled trim loose on the floor, and wadded candy wrapper under the seat, and they put over 600 miles on the car, when the problem has been backing up from a stop. We bought this car so my 100% combat disabled vet husband could travel with out pain, esp. on bumpy roads or longer trips. Its a beautiful car but our car and Kia service is a disaster so far. We see it more on the tow truck than we get to drive it. Our recent cars were Honda and a Toyota so we forgot how much of a nightmare a car can be when the warranty and service guarantees are just pieces of paper.

    • @homeremote8311

The cheapest in Canada is $27000 for the v6 model, 31k for a car with over 100 000 kms =60 000 miles for the v8. Buying a used one will still be about 5 grand cheaper than a merc, or Audi, but up keep will be a fraction. For those tards laughing at the resale value of a "luxury Kia", its only a percent or 2 below the established brands, but the original owners warranty was for 20-40k more kms, so it probably worked out. Whether you were the original owner, or will be owner number 2, it makes more sense to go with the Kia.

Doesn't matter how nice the interior is or how fast it goes 0-60, with a name like "K900", this car is going to have a serious identity problem. Also, as soon as you drive it off the lot, its lost about 10k in value. Last year when I was shopping for a sport sedan with a budget of 60k, the last place Id be going is to a Kia dealer.
