Who cares if this has strong Mgla influences? I've been to Mgla since Mdlosci came out and since then I've been wishing there was more Black Metal that sounded like their style and now we got it, these guys are fantastic!

I was there when they were filming the waterfall scenes!! Lucia falls. I thought I was by myself and was stoned af. Then I was like wait a minute, are those black metal dudes standing on the rocks? Then I saw the drone. Tripped me out! I thought I was the only one that sat around those waterfalls in black cloaks 😂

I found out about these guys through Helleborus. They know how to be melodic and evoke beauty without coming off sappy or emotionally weak. Another powerfully tranquil sonic manifestation from the glorious darkness!

Devoid of Light was the first Album/CD I ever heard from UADA. Wonderful! UADA has to be considered one of the best Black Metal Bands ever from USA. Respect.
hmm, you think so? I find them okay, but also somehow too clean, too formulaic. For me they can't get past Judas Iscariot or Nachtmystium.

I can't say I dislike this. I mean sure they take alot of inspiration from bands like Mayhem and Mgla, like for example Mgla did in the beginning. However, I'm very very interested to see what these guys can do when they start to develop further into their own place. Keep going, the music is great already and that's the point!

Great band, just saw them live at L'Anti Bar in Québec City yesterday. Awesome performance. I didn't know who they were before I bought my ticket back in August. I bought my ticket for 1349 and UADA were there too, as well as Cloak. Great evening of beer and black metal!

I am so glad that black metal, itself, managed to evolve in waves accordingly due time. Hence I am a devoted fan of the genre, I never understood the purists and their debates. With all those 'so-called heresy', shoegaze and indie influenced post-variations, experimental stuff such as Zeal & Ardor, stretching the boundaries of the naturist aspects that consisted of ancient, religious beliefs onto ecology activism and anarchy, obscure, anonymous artistry styles... I am happy to see how it's evolved this way and stays as unique as it's ought to be.
Black Metal elitists are just wannabe toughguy incels who are far more focussed on "br00000tality" than the music, and centre their personality around being as hipster as fucking possible while jerking off to the same 3 "old school" "TRVE" BM bands. Fuck em.

For hipster/elitist people who think they are a mgla copy clearly dont have much of the idea of how diverse bm could be and surely are not bm fans except for a couple of bands(mostly the most notable second wave norwegian bands and the almighty mgla who has spawed the genre for the last two years) and clearly dont know the difference of being inspired and being a copy cat for example : carach angren being inspired from dimmu borgir or satanic warmaster being inspired from early darkthrone, or outre from deathspell omega. Uada is a great newcomer band and i hope everyone who has backslashed them has a chance to see them live... because they're in for a great experience.

dude mgła is doing its work since early 2000's. UADA to me sounds like dissection with more atmosphere
Wojciech Łyskawa Mgla is one of the best black metal bands and i dare say one of the best metal bands ever. However that doesnt mean just because another band has mgla influences its a copycat. Bands that have followed the trend of one another have been since sabbath and priest time, great composition should be appriciated even though it is of a "similar" style.
yeah but drawing similarities to mgła is based only on thier looks and i am pretty shure that midnight pulled of that look first. Musicaly they are not so similar to me. Mgła is more monotonous they hang on a riff longer. Vocals are completly different. UADA has lot of guitar harmonies and these primitive rythmic parts.
