I first fell in love with Harry Styles original version. I honestly can’t say one is better than the other , however JK’s version made me weep as much as the original (in some ways it was more emotional because of how proud I am of JK, I mean, we watched him grow up and have seen his vocals evolve and become mind blowingly good).

I fell in love with Harry's orig last year, so I knew JK's cover would be powerful, but I still sobbed while listening to this the first time. While I can't relate on the relationship front per se, it's the self-love battle that hits so deep for me. JK's voice is my fav in the world (also the thing that initially drew me to BTS so strongly), so to hear this evolution of his vocals, with more nuance than probably any other song he's recorded, really just floored me.
JK has done more covers than anyone else in BTS. He used to do them more often. A lot of English songs, but also some Korean. Most are on the official BTS SoundCloud, where they all release free music, both covers and original solo tracks. It's actually odd that he only released Falling on YT.
And if you want more video to react to of just JK singing, in recent months he's done 2 Vlives (their live vlogging app) where he just sang karaoke of BTS songs and English songs for an hour or so while hanging out in his studio, very entertaining!

Jungkook’s cover is beautiful, his voice has really matured and grown (he was always a talented singer, but his identity is really defined now, in his voice). I was really surprised he covered this song - but happily surprised, and the choice of song is really interesting. I have a feeling, if he actually put it out as a single, that it would do incredibly well.

such a beautiful cover ! I'm listen to it again and again and always get émotional. JK make me "falling" again. I don't know why, but when he sings ballads in english, his voice "hit" me direct in the heart (even if english is not my mother langage) .All his song's cover are incredible ! And fo your "sad season playlist", you can also add "2U " and Nothing like us (2 covers) and "Still with you" (a JK's solo song) , the jazzy vibes fits so well with a sad rainy day .

Harry did co-write the song with another writer, Thomas Edward Percy Hull. I think it’s a pretty personal song to Harry. Both versions are beautiful in their own ways. Jungkook did it justice.

I love Harry’s song and how he does it… but somehow for me… jungkook really brought the emotion out in a way that felt like it was his song… like I felt the more longing from jk …. And definitely have cried everytime…. I’m so proud of him and I’m so glad that people are really starting to see and hear how special jk is.

Someone posted "it's sacrilegious" to listen to the original by Harry Styles alongside Jungkook's cover? It's not sacrilegious at all. Art is about creating and exhibiting your interpretation. Both versions of Falling are beautiful and exquisite in their own right. Two different artists sing the song in 2 different ways.
In my opinion, Harry was emoting from the lens of his role in the demise of a relationship.
I truly believe Jungkook was emoting as if speaking to and with ARMY. He's asking the questions what am I now to you, if I change will you still love me, and considering the reality that all BTS members will need to serve in the military for 2 years, for me he's asking will you remember me when I return.
Interesting interpretation and definitely not remotely close to what I think about jungkooks cover lol for one… jk tends to record and produce most of his covers and bc of that they’re released on SoundCloud for free… he didn’t produce this cover and it wasn’t posted on bts SoundCloud which actually distances it quite a bit from most of his other covers. I can’t imagine why jk who has like 6 years until he would have to enlist would choose now to address that concern… especially with every other member having to face that concern before himself… it would be odd for jk who makes very little about himself to take a situation mostly pertaining to jin in the sense that jins pretty much the only member actually being discussed since he is 30…. And release this putting his enlistment into the spotlight when nobody is really talking about that with him bc again he’s the youngest with the furthest time away.
Because jungkook gets a shit ton of hate for going so far away from Korean beauty standards…. And how he used to be so scared about what people thought about him and if ppl would love him if he changed and showed and did more of what makes him happy… I find that connection to be more realistic in his timetable. Considering that during the ptd on stage online concert that jungkook who was talking right as they went into the song SO WHAT said “I have a lot to complain about, I have something I want to say to those who don’t like me,” and the other members looked confused but basically asked him what he wanted to say to his haters… and he leaned back and yelled into his mic “what are you gonna do about it” and the rest yelled “So What,” and started the song even though most of them were jaw dropped and shocked at what he just said…. They looked proud af…. but from decalcomania and knowing jks insecurities … seems more like him asking if army still loves him even though he may be making choices they don’t like…. And acknowledging that he was living in a way where he wasn’t happy about not being able to be the jk he really is in some ways…. And if “army” can put aside their wants for him and still love him for being who he wants to be. I can’t believe how much hate I’ve seen towards him for the personal choices he’s making with his own body… jungkook is still the same person with the same mind, heart, compassion on the inside and seriously deserves all the love and respect in the world… he’s an incredible man… and I’m glad he’s been finally seeing what most of us see and finding that self love for himself . Any real army should want that for him and all of them and care about that the most

Highly recommend checking out Harry Styles too. I wasn’t a One Direction fan but fell in love with Harry’s first solo album. Fine Line, the album Falling is on, is amazing, as well. It tells the story of a relationship, breakup, and aftermath. He’s a great writer, fantastic singer, and seems like a truly great person. I’m so happy JK covered this song.
Also after discovering Harry, I did learn some about One Direction and was surprised to learn they did start to write a lot of stuff in their later albums.

I'm glad you got to see this, especially if you liked JK's voice. His covers will have to do until he feeds us a whole mixtape. I really like Harry Style's version too, since it is his song and he customized it to fit his voice so well. But JK has this way of making me feel all the feels when I listened to this, stirring and shaking things in my emotions that I sometimes forget are there. His voice is doing what art is supposed to do - speak to us and stir us up. I remember I had the same reaction when I least expected it, listening to Jungkook singing "Oh Holly night" at one of their Christmas medleys for a Korean Tv station ( czcams.com/video/D09aWA_lhG4/video.html )
Anywho... looking forward to your next reactions. Also, I just wanted to mention one thing. I know you said why you chose a lyric video for the cover and it makes sense. But it really helps them out too if you watch the original video on the bangtantv channel. This way, they get views as well. And I believe they have translations for most of their videos now.

Jk's cover definitely (in my opinion) did Harry's original perfect justice!!! I also don't know much about Harry Styles, but as a genuine kpop stan, this cover along side Nayeon's (member of TWICE) cover of Falling are (also imho) two of the most beautiful covers I've heard and come to appreciate. Great reaction (and while I'm writing this I'm basically bingeing your kpop journey; you're so funny 😆). The covers to me (& the og song) are very emotional and somewhat sentimental, and I tend to gravitate towards that type of sound in music. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I wish you react to Nayeon's cover as well!!! 🤗🤗🤗

Their solo work outside of albums is not 'given' but its work that they do... He released still with you and his other original songs are unreleased. Remember film out and some other songs where his solo work that they decided to use for official releases. So, anyway, I don't get your comment? 😅 doing covers is his choice because he loves doing it

@@era1345 I’m wondering if they were talking about “your eyes tell,” bc it was the first song from bts to be played in a film and jungkook was the main composer and writer on that song. The original melody was intended for jungkooks solo mixtape and all members submitted songs for “your eyes tell” to the movie for consideration and jungkook pretty much almost at the deadline decided to submit your eyes tell and it was the song chosen for the movie. Went to the soundtracks producer and him and jk worked on the lyrics from jks and polishing whatever they wanted to say. Army sleep on “your eyes tell” and it’s crazy how popular it is in Japan … still the most beautiful song of bts for me. Also film out had a completely different melody originally… but jungkook changed it. He talked about how hard he worked on the melody and he said he wanted it to feel like his voice or something and after hearing film out I know exactly what he meant by that lol watching them perform til out , jungkook is basically singing the entire song with his parts but he’s singing background during everyone else’s parts too in some way shape or form …. His depiction of his voice is the baseline for the melody of film out… also again one of their most beautiful ballad type songs as well. Everything jk does is based on emotion… bc he’s legitimately an empath and it’s how he picks things up so easily … but it’s also why jk is the king of harmony and especially ad libs… bc they come straight from his heart and why he does like 95% of bts vocal ad libs…. And a ton of rap ad libs as well lol when bts speaks about film out they generally refer to jungkook about it … possibly what this commenter meant, just my understanding and I could be totally wrong 😂 either way there are 7 kings of artistry , passion and beauty in bts…. All with different strengths… when it comes to vocals… there’s exponentially more jungkook solo content than any of the other vocalists just bc he has a deeper passion for singing. I think the random covers from different artists is part of what sets him apart. He hears something he likes and he wants to understand how they did that.. how they made him feel about that… and his insane ear for music just helps him be able to sound a lot like the original artists in some ways but with his own twist. His passion is just masterful… but I’m very excited to hear the rest of jins new one!!!! Yay!! So much bts content coming out I could cry

I loved the version by JK so much. Harry wrote this song in like 20 minutes, it's very personal to him. Arrangement-wise the cover is the same as original but JK's vocal technics are different so it almost sound like another genre. Harry has more raspy, rocky tone and it has a more aching feeling to it, imo. Being a huge Harry Styles's fan I obviously prefer the original :)
You are right, Harry is from One Direction :) One Direction didn't technically break up, although there is a low chance they get back together any time soon. All 5 guys of the band have solo careers now and are doing pretty well. Harry's currently the most popular but all their music is amazing.
