The list is pretty good, but I have a couple of problems with how certain entries are. I don't quite think it's fair to include ShadPS4 or any PS4 emulators in the list yet, as the scene is still in it's infancy. Within the past few weeks, we went from merely booting Bloodborne to getting into game, fighting bosses with framerates over 30. Persona 4 went from not working to fully playable within days. The scene is still really early on, so while it *is* there, it's just not quite at a point where it'd be smart to consider it as an emulator to play PS4 exclusives such as Bloodborne or InFamous. I would personally bump Cemu up to S tier; not only is it the only PC Wii U emulator, but it's great in all regards. It's easy to set up, it runs really well on lower end hardware, and it has a lot of potential for mods, which other emulators like Yuzu (at least for a while) or RPCS3 struggled with. Not quite S tier, but it's still a versatile emulator that works for pretty much anything you'd wanna throw at it.
For NDS I would put DeSmuME in B tier and MelonDS in A or even S tier. MelonDS already has outstanding compatibility, plus MelonDS' upscaling in leagues better than what DeSmuME could ever hope for as it currently is. MelonDS utilizes the GPU which make upscaling very easy and lite even on moderate hardware, meanwhile DeSmuME uses on the CPU which means upscaling can and will cause lag even the most powerful CPUs on the market. no, MelonDS lacks a lot of feature like shaders and texture filtering, also it cant upscale some games like Golden Sun DD; its only upside over DeSmuME is that it is lighter and has DSi support; I can understant putting it higher for that reason, but never in S tier.
@Bajolzas I preferred to place emulators that are noob-friendly in tier S, so that anyone can have fun without spending time on long setup videos to configure the emulator properly. I only placed CEMU in tier A due to a lack of recent updates.
I'd say N64 emulators are still really far behind. They still rely on outdated plugin systems, have a lot of limitations that become apparent when talking about mods or textures and still can't interpolate frames. Yes, it does the job and it's certainly playable, but it's still neither perfectly accurate nor good at enhancing the console's titles. As recompilation is starting to take off, I imagine N64 emulation will just become obsolete
@snootyink809 The already decompiled N64 games, along with the ability to configure the camera with the right analog stick, bring significant quality of life improvements, as well as other features such as texture packs and increased FPS-things that only decompilation can provide us.
Rosalie's Mupen GUI is a fantastic option for N64 emulation and it comes with both GlideN64 and Parallel graphic plugins to choose from. One for accuracy and one for performance. It's better than Project64.
I can make a list for Android if you guys want, but it will take me more time because I'm not sure which projects are good enough to test. Basically, on Android, my full knowledge is mostly on NDS, 3DS, PS series, and Switch.
@@AlexwpiGame take your time king but an android list would be nice especially older systems like n64 and saturn and dreamcast. Since they have pro versions would love to know more free options out there
I think it's unfair to rank Bizhawk D only taking into consideration its Saturn Emulation, since Bizhawk is not a "saturn-only" emulator, but a multisystem emulator and a nice libretro front-end with a traditional mousecentric GUI and its actually pretty good at emulating other systems like N64, SNES, Turbografx16, Sega Genesis, 32x, Sega Master System, Game Gear, NES, Colecovision, Intellivision.
Thank you for your opinion, I only placed it below the Yuzu forks because I was thinking specifically about emulating Zelda TotK. The performance of Ryujinx falls well below Yuzu, but I respect your opinion if you consider it better. Just for curiosity's sake, I was able to run Ryujinx on my third-generation i5, but I couldn't run Yuzu.
@@AlexwpiGame It depends on your hardware. I have a pretty decent rig and both emulators run great. One might work better than the other depending on the person's computer, though generally Yuzu is more optimized for performance and Ryujinx is more accurate. Both emulators should be in the same tier.
@@AlexwpiGame Ryujinx runs slower than Yuzu due to the fact it focuses on stability and accuracy, rather than performance. For a while, it was the only emulator that could run mods for games like Smash Bros. because of the accuracy. it also tends to run early games a lot better. I remember Yuzu had problems with Scarlet and Violet that Ryujinx didn't have. Fire Emblem: Engage was also unstable on Yuzu for a bit, my friend kept getting crashes. Yuzu is faster and better for lower end PCs, but Ryujinx is more consistent. I'd consider bumping it up if you ever do a revision.
PCSX2 and Dolphin are the actual GOATs, the Michael Jordan and Lebron James of emulators. It took PCSX2 especially so many years to get where they are, but those years have been so incredibly worth it. Three entire console libraries with absurd amounts of variety and novelty available on pretty much any device with decent horsepower is so incredible.
Sadly pcsx2 is full of problems, like rendering for some games will just break for weeks with no fix, they removed Async mix for no reason even though loads of people used it and the devs are kinda just generally rude
Agree, except for xenia canary. Must say I don't play much xenia games and only play compatible ones. Upscaling is an issue though, have made custom resolutions and they tend to slow game down significantly, maybe that's the issue?
Problems with saves and audio in an emulator that has been in development for a decent amount of time are unacceptable. Another major issue with the project is the lack of a UI. All the other emulators on this list have a UI and don't have save issues. Losing a save is a gamer's worst enemy.
@@AlexwpiGame Didn't know about the saves. That is a major flaw indeed. Yeah, the UI, or should I say cfg file is pretty bare bones. Cursed a few times when I first began using it and it was by no means my first emulator setup. Xenia manager should fix that but haven't tried it (last time I checked it did not yet run xbox live). But you're right. When it runs a game it runs it good but the UI is not up to par with other emulators, far from it.
His reasoning is sound. I have the exact same experience, anything I throw at Yuzu and forks sings, while Ryujinx chugs along. Of course, if you have a beast of a rig you'll be fine, but that's not the reality of most people, who have mid-range PCs or lower (plus Ryu does not have Android forks). An emulator is also rated on how well-optimized it is.
@fabio78 You clearly conveyed how I feel when testing Ryujinx. It’s no good for a project to be 100% accurate with games like Luigi’s Mansion 3 if it can’t maintain 60FPS with mods, especially when I can play at 120FPS on Sudachi with just a few almost imperceptible lighting issues. But of course, this is just a personal preference, and everyone is free to choose the projects that suit them best.
Only one I kind of disagree with is Ryujinx. It should be S-tier. For a long time kept up with yuzu and even surpassed Yuzu in some titles and Features. Overall good list tho.
Do you know which computer/laptop specs can handle Nintendo switch emulators and PS4 emulators? Edit: if you could do a video on that, that would be amazing
i5 4460 and a GTX 1050 for Switch emulation on Sudachi, Yuzu, and similar emulators-this hardware is obviously the minimum requirement and won't run all games. For a recommended setup, I’d suggest at least a 10th gen i7 and a GTX 1070. As for ShadPS4, there are no set requirements yet since everything is still a work in progress, but I'll be running tests soon. Keep in mind that emulation for both of these systems relies more on the CPU than the GPU.
Sorry about that; it really did sound strange with the AI saying "DesMuMe," for example. If it helps, there is native English subtitles available, and it’s not an automatic Google translation but from the actual script, which might assist in understanding.
I never thought Dolphin would be surpassed but I think PCSX2 and Duckstation have both surpassed it. Dolphin needs to figure out a way to get the Wii Remote speaker emulation to work correctly.
Very good video👏. I appreciate your hard work bro. I already have Vita3k, PCSX2 1.7 (yet to update to 2.0), Dolphin 5.0, Cemu, & PPSSPP. My laptop is old & low-end (4th-gen core i7 & Nvidia quadro k2100m). I haven't bothered getting OG Xbox, Xenia, or RPCS3 b'cos I'm sure my system will struggle with those. I used to have Yuzu & Ryujinx & I could play 2d games okay but 3d games struggled.
I was able to run lighter games, even some 3D ones, using Ryujinx and a 3rd generation i5, but it was a desktop CPU, not a laptop. Sometimes you'll get better performance with Ryujinx, and other times it might not even run. It's really a matter of trial and error.
Thank you for this great list. I'm just starting to get my feet wet in playing games on a emulator and always wanted a great list of top ranked / recommended ones. Again Thank You. BTW do you also have a list for Neo Geo & Arcade emulators ?
Hello, my friend! Welcome to the world of emulation. I'm sure you'll discover more games here than you'll be able to play in a lifetime, haha. Recently, I was testing arcade emulators since it's a platform I love. Ever since I got my first PC, I've always liked WinKawaks, but with the lack of updates, it's starting to fall short. It's very easy to configure and run games, but nowadays, the best option is MAME. Even though it's difficult to set up and its user interface is outdated and not very intuitive.
@@AlexwpiGame thank you for the reply and recommendation. So far I can not seem to find an emulator for Neo Geo 😕 or maybe my search results are just subpar. Too me Neo Geo is underrated and has some great games that need to be played like Windjammers, Pulstar, Neo Turf Masters, Spinmaster, Shock Troopers, Cross Swords etc etc just to name a few. Hope you get to test these games out with a great emulator. Good luck sir if you find it. Let us know please 🙏 and have a great day 😊
Mednafen is the best Sega Saturn emulator. Complicated to set up, but everything I've thrown at it runs perfectly from Panzer Dragoon Saga to Sonic Jam
Saturn has Mednafen or Beetle on RetroArch. N64 you have to enter the menu and change to parallel RDP (that's why there's artifacting in the screen borders)
You have a decent ranking, but I would personally put Dolphin in A not S. It's a very old emulator and it lacks in terms of user interface (you need to type commands in a user .txt file for changing graphical settings per game) + it has corrupted my save files a couple of times + recording issues, etc.
As I said earlier, losing saves is unacceptable, and the configuration parameters are already integrated into the game. Besides that, it has simulated HDR, and I love playing with HDR. But I respect your opinion, and thank you for commenting.
Yes, but these emulators don't properly utilize the GPU's power. I could say there was a bottleneck here only with Switch emulation and RPCS3. The only emulator that excessively uses the GPU is Xenia.
@@AlexwpiGame Diaz is correct. Your PC hardware is not pair correctly. Do a benchmark test: 1080p, 1440p, 2160p with high settings and compare. You should notice the bottleneck is on the CPU. Skip intel CPUs and go with 7800X3D with fast memory. When you do a performance test on PC, you should include the resolutions above in your video.
I can make a list for Android if you guys want, but it will take me more time because I'm not sure which projects are good enough to test. Basically, on Android, my full knowledge is mostly on NDS, 3DS, PS series, and Switch.
Great job with the video. Tidy up the title for the video even if you have to remove a some emulator(s), such as: Emulator Tier List: The Best/Worst FREE Open and Closed Source PC Emulators. This video requires a follow up video regarding to ranking of metric(s) and a brief explanation of each metric before The Best/Worst FREE Open Source Emulators on Android video. Please invite developers like Phoenix, Jarrod Norwell, etc... for a discussion on the metric(s). Developers may have a different metric system from emulator gamers and testers. Alex & Subscribers: What other metrics should be added beside ease of use, game performance, compatibility, and accuracy?
From my side, there have been several attempts to contact Jarrod, but he never responds or even sees my messages. On the other hand, for any "EmuDrama," he promptly tags Mr. Sujano to help him with his conflicts. Other devs, like Phoenix and Gamer64 (Mandarine), always respond and treat me very well. I've even exchanged a few words with PabloMK7, who seems to be a really nice guy.
I wasn't interested in the Princess Peach game, but I can confirm that 30XX only runs decently on Ryujinx. You make a great point, especially since I love both 20XX and 30XX.
@@AlexwpiGame Ryujinx does everything correctly accurately which is why new exclusives with protections and some newer titles run vs yuzu and it's forks having issues... But don't get me wrong yuzu and the forks is still a piece of golden software...
Love your videos Alex, though I disagree to some of your opinions: Project 64 is the best N64 emulator and standalone, so no need for Retroarch configuration. Secondly, I still think the classic Yuzu should have deserved a spot in your Switch emulation sector.. Just opinions, no offense;-)
Thanks for commenting! I’ve responded to almost all the comments with other users' opinions, and if I were to list Yuzu, I’d place it right next to Sudachi. While Sudachi received RAM usage reductions, Yuzu had the UMA project during its active development. UMA aimed to reduce the RAM used by games, allowing you to play Zelda TotK with about 10GB of RAM. Unfortunately, that project went down with Yuzu, but I believe that by now, UMA would have been released. About Project 64, I’ll definitely make another video-comprehensive and updated-covering all emulators, including RetroArch cores for Sega Saturn and N64. I consider these to be some of the most challenging emulators to run properly today.
…this list do not describe the performance of the ranked emulators at all on my lenovo legion go windows 11 handheld…which i hope will encourage everyone to test and judge themselves and make a decision of there own…there is just to many individual factors in play…
I've personally had better experience with Yuzu than Ryujinx. Plus Yuzu is slightly less demanding. It's a shame it was discontinued, but I happened to get a copy just before getting the hammer from Nintendo.
Honestly, if the game is on Steam, I just download it there cause I tried emulating Persona 5 Royal with ryujinx but it was running insanely bad and had a lot of graphical glitches team version but when i bought the steam versiom the game ran with everything at max and 120 fps
Can you make another one for older consoles? For example mGBA, VBA-M for the GBA and No$GBA for the GBA/DS, the latter being the first one for those consoles as far as i know or game gear emulators if there are any
I wanted to play persona 5 royal and ive seen good performance on ryujinx, is it better on sudachi (i want to play a zelda game later and since u said it wasn't that good on ryujinx you got me wondering which simulator to download)
B for redream on the same category as yabla sanchiro ?? Apart from psspp , redream is the simplest authentic and immediate emulator available even the non-premium version is more than generous, and the premium is perfect. I know it's your opinion, but duckstation or pcsx2 are emulators that require you to touch certain options and knowledge to get an ideal rendering, and this also depends on the game in question. I'm not even talking about retro arch or rpcs3, which require knowledge and tutorials for each game (rpcs3) or system (retro arch). Honestly, I don't find your list credible at all. objectively, the best emulators in the sense of being the easiest to achieve the best authentic rendering whatever the resolution are redream and ppspp (and then maybe dolphin to some degree). the rest of the emulators are good, for some of them even very good, but you need to have a certain knowledge of them to get a very satisfactory result. the only two emulators worthy of S rank are ppsspp and redream
@@AlexwpiGame Yes, but I still think that a certain level of knowledge is needed, whether through CZcams or forums, to fully understand the potential of emulator like duckstation or pcs2(which has evolved a lot). On the other hand, with Redream and PPSSPP, accessibility is immediate from the start-no need for internet or technical knowledge. You simply launch the emulator, point it to the folder where your games are located, and you get all the game covers displayed. It's very smooth, with high resolution (for Redream Premium). What I mean is that while DuckStation and PCSX2 are excellent and deserve an S-tier ranking, Redream and PPSSPP deserve an S+ or even S++ tier for their accessibility and ease of launching games in high resolution without needing to manage settings-just having the best of Dreamcast and PSP emulation. Running an emulator is great, but if it requires knowledge, managing settings depending on the game, or even adjusting the resolution like with RPCS3 and others, then I don't consider it among the best emulators. Especially since emulation like RPCS3 is far from perfect, so I wouldn't put it on the same level as Cemu, and certainly not as high as Redream Sure, I know it's amazing to be able to play PS3 games in 4K on a PC, but that doesn't mean it's as good as other emulators that have been around for a long time and are 100 times more accessible. The best emulators are supposed to represent a balance between accessibility, image quality, smooth performance, no great ressource hardware and ease of running compatible games. This is exactly what Redream and PPSSPP represent. Honestly, the other emulators are very good (and some are getting better and better), but there can still be issues where you need to test different settings for different games. It's a bit more complex to really take full advantage of the emulator and the emulated games (even if it might be easy for us since we're used to it) it remains less accessible than others that do everything perfectly without needing to adjust or understand any settings So, if you want to put PCSX2 2.0 in the S tier, I understand, because just like DuckStation, the emulator has a lot of potential and is improving more and more. But it would make more sense to place Redream and PPSSPP in the S+ or S++ tier
Xenia helped me play fable 2. As a pc gamer I always wanted that game to be ported on pc but that didn't happened. I recently played fable 2 on xenia. Although at 720p 30fps, I'm still quite satisfied.
same story but with red dead redemption never got around to it then a month or so back i finally decided to give it a try i couldnt hit a solid 60 but 30 was stable at 1440p upscaled then i used lossless scaling for framegen so it feels like 60 PERFECT P.S. i played almost 10 hrs i was hooked on the game
i think torzu is fine.... not and more or less secure than any other of these if your are not bothering to audit the code? being on tor doesnt mean much since its still on a git repo for you to build yourself if you wish? just as likely to get malware on any github exe
I just use emudeck as other than bios and firmware files, none of the ones mentioned here give me any hassle as its all done for you with emudeck. I'd say I have no more issues with Xemu and Xenia than I have with RPCS3 and they all run well on my Legion Go with Xenia and RPCS3 trading performance and compatibility in games I have tried, not on a par with the likes of PCSX2, Cemu, Dolphin or Ryujinx, but not bad once you do the initial setup.
It should be noted that Duckstation, PCSX2, and probably other emulators require Windows 10/11 to run. So, if you want to run the Windows versions of these, you have to give up control of your system to Microsoft. :(
for me personally, an Emulator would make it into S tier If : * It allows you to push far beyond the normal capabilities of the original hardware * Has high compatibility and relatively low requirements * Easy to set up and has decent UI * Supports Custom Textures (Optional bonus) 🖤 Either way, solid list and theres no denying the hard work and passion people have been putting into these projects for so many years. Indie and Retro gaming is where its at for real gamers🦾🎮

Redream is by far the best dreamcast emulator imo.Everything runs perfect. Also i have paid version all you have to do is copy what i write here in my next comment and store it as a text file. Then name it what i tell you and save in your redream folder then you can play at higher resolution.
@grzeszczny Yes, on top of that, we have Naomi emulation and there is also a version of Flycast dedicated to multiplayer for fighting games, since the Dreamcast has an excellent library for these titles.
I really want to start emulating, but I am scared of getting a virus since it happened to me in the past. Is there any guide to do it as safely as possible?
I recommend downloading the emulators directly from the official developers' websites or their official GitHub. If you want to join our Discord, I can share a reliable link for each project, but unfortunately, we cannot share games.

Disagree with Xenia Canary on d. I would put it in b. I have not yet found any xbla game that is not playable on it. :)
Thank you for your opinion and politeness.
Awesome video and well thought out positions
Thx bro
This list is worth gold. I had to update myself on the current scene and this video fulfills what I was looking for. thanks!
Thx bro
RPCS3 deserves S tier with there recent improvements etc... and every game is bootable and the highest compatibility rate
Not yet
Wish it had an option to use controller to control everything
@KnucklesWTD like Big Picture?
Rpcs3 is still not that great. It's a lot better now but it's not anywhere close to pcsx2
@@AlexwpiGame Yeah,it gets annoying closing games and things like that
Rosalie's Mupen GUI is a fantastic option for N64 emulation and it comes with both GlideN64 and Parallel graphic plugins to choose from. One for accuracy and one for performance. It's better than Project64.
Next For Android, iOS 🔥🔥
iOS don’t much emulator out there like android due to no jit
I can make a list for Android if you guys want, but it will take me more time because I'm not sure which projects are good enough to test. Basically, on Android, my full knowledge is mostly on NDS, 3DS, PS series, and Switch.
@@AlexwpiGame would appreciate a android list thanks
@@AlexwpiGame take your time king but an android list would be nice especially older systems like n64 and saturn and dreamcast. Since they have pro versions would love to know more free options out there
I could help you with the android list since I've been doing that stuff since 2016
I think it's unfair to rank Bizhawk D only taking into consideration its Saturn Emulation, since Bizhawk is not a "saturn-only" emulator, but a multisystem emulator and a nice libretro front-end with a traditional mousecentric GUI and its actually pretty good at emulating other systems like N64, SNES, Turbografx16, Sega Genesis, 32x, Sega Master System, Game Gear, NES, Colecovision, Intellivision.
Good list, except putting Ryujinx in B tier is ridiculous.
@@Draconix6in my experience yuzu runs games better but ryujinx has more settings and graphics options
Zsnes is the goat for introducing me to emulation in 2005
Agree, except for xenia canary.
@@AlexwpiGame yes its not in same league with emulators for other systems , this new xenia manager projects (frontend) is refreshing to see
@@AlexwpiGame Didn't know about the saves.
Xenia does not have Vulkan tho I recall that Xenia Canary does have Vulkan support, haven't ran into issues yet
Ryujinx ranked lowest switch tier is delusional...
Ryujinx on silicon is horrendous. Constant crashes of the entire emulator. Wish I had another option
I agree with you mostly on this list , and you did put time and effort in this video.
Thanks.
Thx bro
nice one
i stil use Yuzu for switch its all working fine for me. i won't use another one for switch.
@@AlexwpiGame so even with a basi Nvidia card, as long as the CPU is really good it should work fine?
Even though I don't speak Portuguese, I had to turn on subtitles just to comprehend what emulators you are referring to from that A.I. voice.
Sorry about that; it really did sound strange with the AI saying "DesMuMe," for example. If it helps, there is native English subtitles available, and it’s not an automatic Google translation but from the actual script, which might assist in understanding.
Lovely ranking pls keep pumping content like this!
Bom trabalho meu mano, adorei a lista

Can you make a another video about Emulators for Steam Deck? I believe there's more like me hoping to see it from you. Thank you
If I had a Steam Deck, I would definitely make this type of video and many others.
@@AlexwpiGame Lol. Yeah
Thanks for these videos. Easy to follow and understand
for Saturn emulation try RetroArch and Mednafen ssf is accurate but hasn't bin updated in a while but its a great option as well
Thank you for this great list.
Let us know please 🙏 and have a great day 😊
Please next time, every Game-Title in Video, Thank you
I will add them to the pinned comment in the next few minutes.

Mednafen is the best Sega Saturn emulator. Complicated to set up, but everything I've thrown at it runs perfectly from Panzer Dragoon Saga to Sonic Jam
Pcsx2 on s tier? Lol it still struggles to play on even at the likes mid tier to low high tier pcs
Have you tested PCSX2 in its 2.0 version? I was able to run games at 1440P even on my third-gen i5 and a GTX 970.
Man I love this channel
😍✌
Saturn has Mednafen or Beetle on RetroArch. N64 you have to enter the menu and change to parallel RDP (that's why there's artifacting in the screen borders)
Ryujinx and Cemu should be S tier, Xenia should be either B or C. Agreed with the rest.
Ryujinx and Cemu is definitely S tier.
Xenia def better than vita3K.
You need to do a video for Android. This would be super helpful for users who need to know the best current emulators
Use save states. Dolphin corrupted my save file for Wind Waker after I finished the game. 🤣
Dolphin is not lacking outside per game settings, 95% of emulators on this list don't even have what dolphin has.
Isn't your cpu bottelnecking your gpu? with an I5 13600K or a R7 7800X 3D you'll have better perfs.
When you do a performance test on PC, you should include the resolutions above in your video.
where's nes, snes, gameboy, gba, and other low-end emulators?
In this list, I only included emulators for consoles with 3D graphics, but I can make another list focused on games based on sprites.
He clarified right at the start that this was based on games with 3D graphics
this channel is fantastic
Thx bro
Just curious, why didn't you mention mednafen for Saturn emulation? I thought that emulator had great compatibility.
mednafen has been updated earlier this year for sega saturn. Also known as beetle on retroarch. Great improvements but rarely a mention online.
i’ll be trying Sudachi later, missing yuzu btw 😔
Please do android next
I can make a list for Android if you guys want, but it will take me more time because I'm not sure which projects are good enough to test. Basically, on Android, my full knowledge is mostly on NDS, 3DS, PS series, and Switch.
PPSSPP has the best controller support
For all its conveniences, it deserves to be in the S tier.
Psp and dc emulators are the mostly used ones for consoles
Ryujinx is WAY better than Yuzu, Yuzu crashed for me frequently while ryujinx ran almost perfectly
I'd honestly put epsxe in D tier it's so bad
Sudachi yuzu and torzu still cannot run princess peach and or games like 30xx properly...ryujinx should be the top emulator for Nintendo switch...
I use Yuzu/its forks for everything older and ryujinx for the few new titles
Redream should have been A tier still.

Play! is fairly old having been around since 2005
it's also the first and only emulator to play namco system 246/256 games
I've personally had better experience with Yuzu than Ryujinx. Plus Yuzu is slightly less demanding. It's a shame it was discontinued, but I happened to get a copy just before getting the hammer from Nintendo.

B for redream on the same category as yabla sanchiro ??
Apart from psspp , redream is the simplest authentic and immediate emulator available
even the non-premium version is more than generous, and the premium is perfect.
Wouldn't you even put PCSX2 2.0 in tier S?
@@AlexwpiGame
Yes, but I still think that a certain level of knowledge is needed, whether through CZcams or forums, to fully understand the potential of emulator like duckstation or pcs2(which has evolved a lot).
Especially since emulation like RPCS3 is far from perfect, so I wouldn't put it on the same level as Cemu, and certainly not as high as Redream
Sure, I know it's amazing to be able to play PS3 games in 4K on a PC, but that doesn't mean it's as good as other emulators that have been around for a long time and are 100 times more accessible.
It's a bit more complex to really take full advantage of the emulator and the emulated games (even if it might be easy for us since we're used to it) it remains less accessible than others that do everything perfectly without needing to adjust or understand any settings
So, if you want to put PCSX2 2.0 in the S tier, I understand, because just like DuckStation, the emulator has a lot of potential and is improving more and more. But it would make more sense to place Redream and PPSSPP in the S+ or S++ tier
@@kimitachi22 I understood you perfectly. As I mentioned, everything is personal. Thank you for expressing your point of view with respect.
I'd move Xenia out of D tier tbh
i think torzu is fine.... not and more or less secure than any other of these if your are not bothering to audit the code? being on tor doesnt mean much since its still on a git repo for you to build yourself if you wish? just as likely to get malware on any github exe

It's sad Xenia is that low. It's pretty much all the 360 has for emulation.

for me personally, an Emulator would make it into S tier If :
* It allows you to push far beyond the normal capabilities of the original hardware
* Has high compatibility and relatively low requirements
* Easy to set up and has decent UI
* Supports Custom Textures (Optional bonus) 🖤
Either way, solid list and theres no denying the hard work and passion people have been putting into these projects for so many years. Indie and Retro gaming is where its at for real gamers🦾🎮
