  • During a recent trip to Florida, we spent two days touring Everglades National Park. The Everglades is the largest tropical wilderness in the United States, and it is famous for being the only place on Earth where crocodiles and alligators naturally coexist. Our goal while visiting was to see as much wildlife as possible, and to explore as many parts of the park as we could in such little time.
We started our trip on the main park road, stopping to walk every major trail or boardwalk along the way to the Flamingo Marina. Once at Flamingo Marina, we rented kayaks to venture deep into the park's submerged wilderness. In just our first day in the Everglades, we had close encounters with large alligators, multiple crocodiles (including a tiny juvenile), manatees, soft-shell turtles, and hundreds of exotic shorebirds.
For our second day in the park, we ventured into the North end of the park by airboat. We took a tour with Coopertown Airboat Tours, and they showed us many more alligators in the vast wet prairie.
Overall, we had an incredible experience in the park, and we were amazed just how much one can see in such a short period of time there. For anyone questioning whether to visit the park if you only have a couple of days, our advice would be a resounding YES!
We hope you enjoy this video as much as we liked filming it. More videos will from this recent Florida road-trip will be coming soon - stay tuned and subscribe to watch the adventure unfold. Thanks for watching!
