KITT's unwavering loyalty to Michael...
KITT: I don't believe what you're doing is right, but I'll stay with you!
If that isn't love for a friend, I don't know what is.
Love for a friend???
Not to be a stickler, but K.I.T.T. nearly cost Michael his life right at the beginning of the episode by not giving him the heads up that the guys coming out of the building he was just about to enter, were armed to the teeth and watched him get pumped full of lead by an assault rifle.
K.I.T.T. by this point of the series was not the same entity that began the show, he technically died in Junkyard Dog and the version that was rebuilt was, and continued to be, a complete liability. K.I.T.T. of seasons 1 and 2 would never have allowed that to happen.
Dr Vonvordermen was right, he should have been reclassified for light duty, it nearly cost Michael his life, the very thing he was designed to protect!
If you pick up on the subtle little nuances since Junkyard Dog, you'll see K.I.T.T. is haphazard and no longer the same diligent partner to Michael that he used to be. Case in point is Knight of The Juggernaut where he got complacent again and nearly had both of them permanently deceased.
In fact, Season 4 saw many many near misses because K.I.T.T. became poor at detecting and pre-empting hazards.
@@Longlostpusswhst fies light duty mean?
@@JustinMacri007 Wasn't my term, but think the engineer just meant normal recreational driving use, not for special mission use in the field where the driver would be put in dangerous situations and have to depend on K.I.T.T. with his life.
Even knowing the beginning, Michael didn’t know KITT that much he still respected him like a family member
Knight of The Juggernaut K.I.T.T. asks Michael to abandon ship and save himself, but Michael didn't and Michael was the one who decided to take on Goliath head on with a plan to take out a wheel - didn't work out too well. Knight Industries should have let K.I.T.T. have the final say as a logical being, not allow a human with all their emotions and biases to override the machine. In the future I believe that driverless cars will become so refined, they will take steering wheels out of them so humans can't get drunk, angry, drive with an impairment, tired, and just....human.
Like many others have commented, I also consider this the final episode. Michael returns to the Foundation with KITT, but you can tell he is not the same person. A big part of him died with Stevie, and his depression eventually made him leave the Foundation for good. It ties into the Knight Rider 2000 movie perfectly.
It’s a video game in the works that takes place right after scent of roses (Knight Rider : The Fan game)
@AdamDeanMusic I really hated seeing Stevie die. It would have been nice if she and Michael had have still gotten married. Maybe they should have saved that for the actual final episode of KR. But then there probably wouldn’t have been KR 2000.
Should have just ended it here as originally intended.
Knight Rider 2000 was an absolutely shocking and woeful entry in the season.
I tend to just pretend it never existed for the sake of keeping the integrity of the childhood memories for this show intact.
I always thought that Michael should marry Bonnie...
@@CitroenGS I thought so too, but to be fair, that Michael Long lore is clearly stronger than the viewers are privvy to.
When Michael asked KITT to block out the foundation....Michael must have thought "this is not foundation work...this is personal intense anger against my wife's murderer!!"
I feel sorry for anyone that didn't get to grow up with Knight Rider
I was already in my late 20s when I first saw the show, still love it to this day.
yeah, they should be very sorry.
Always the boxset
I grew up watching it on DVD. Still love it to this day
The mid 80's what a magical time for television series airwolf, mcguyver, the a team and knight rider
Michael slams into those tires like he didnt give a dang!!! His rage was taking over!!!
Sí, parece que estaba dispuesto a matar caiga quien caiga.
If KITT wasn't there to stop Michael, he might have killed Durant. 😮
KITT: Michael, Michael stop it! You wouldn't be able to live with yourself.
He's right.
the deleted scene KITT says "let's make him roadkill!"
Not MIGHT..he WOULD have killed Durante had KITT not told him to stop!!!
@@Anonymous-qg9xxHard to say... However with his rage, he wasn't thinking straight, KITT kept him grounded.
I think that's why Devon let Michael take KITT.
@@Jerry74probably although even if he didn't, KITT would have disobeyed and stayed with Michael.
I do hope they show the final scene of this episode with Michael on the beach remembering Stevie as he tries to decide what direction to take the rest of his life, before he looks over at KITT and the music starts and they drive away heading home. Most powerful scene in the series I think
KITT: Where are we going Michael?
Michael: We're going home KITT, to family! We're going to the foundation!
(drives off)
They have beach Scene with Michael remembering Stevie on you tube S well.
@@RobertSteinmiller-y8r Thanks but I have only found it in German on youtube
That scene led to his next chapter in his life. He became a lifeguard.
@geocooley7282 Pues en 2008 en la malisima serie del peor coche fantástico volvió cómo Michael Knight en el funeral de su 2 da. mujer y encontró a su hijo y aparte de decirle que es su padre le dijo quién es y quién fué.
This was ALWAYS the series finale weather it was aired at the end of the season or not!!
Kitt will always be Michaels one true love.
Yes... i can feel your anger, take your weapon, strike me down with it and journey to the dark side is complete.
KHAAAN! KHAAAN!!!!
One of the best but saddest episodes
İf i remember correct, at that time in an interview; David Hasselhoff told he insisted very much to the producers and network to make this episode.
For this reason;
Thanks a lot Mr. Hasselhoff for “Scent of Roses”.
Wow Michael Knight wasn't playing.. I've never seen him that Angry. If only Knight Rider stayed on for 10 seasons.
Michael was shot at...strangled nearly to death, his wife murdered...he had revenge on his mind!
If the trend wasn't to have every episode resolve itself at the end of each episode, it would have. Think about it this way for a long running drama: In the season 2 episode "A Good Knight's Work", Cameron Zachary finds out that Michael is Michael Long, who he blames for the death of his girlfriend at the time, Tanya Walker. Armed with that knowledge, Zachary goes to Elizabeth Knight and Jennifer Knight (Wilton's ex-wife and daughter), finds out that the foundation has a fraud for its figurehead, and tries a hostile takeover of the foundation, dissolve Devon's, Bonnie's, and April's role in the foundation, as well as take control of KITT. In addition to that takeover, they also get access to the blueprints for KITT, enabling them to make other prototypes/models of it, similar to KARR.
Just that plot line alone could have lasted them another 6 years after their initial run. They had the tools there; the common thing to do back then was to resolve every episode, which is what doomed it.
@@athlonenYep. Kind of like modern Doctor WHO was having this issue so it started making two and three parter episodes.
@@The2Coolest2 I was thinking like how the entire third season of Star Trek: Picard was one huge episode.. something like that, but spread out through the entire series while still having different cases Michael and KITT were on resolving after each episode. It would have left the entire length of the series entertaining.
This was a pins and needles episode from start to finish. At the time it aired, I thought it was the end of the season/series. Very dark and gritty!
It was meant to be the final episode. Bunch of boring reasons that is didn't work out that way.
It IS the final episode!!! No one counts Voodoo Knight as the final ep!
@@Anonymous-qg9xx I remember the Knight Rider Historians talking about how, I think Hasselhoff wanted this to be the end, but they decided to air it somewhere toward the middle of the season. I think most purists would agree, this should have been the end. It had a very cinematic feel to it and richer content quality than previous episodes. When you start with the grittiness of the pilot, this episode only makes sense as the logical end of the series.
@@Anonymous-qg9xx opinion doesn't change the fact that the steaming pile that is Voodoo was the last to air :(
Voodoo Knight would have been alright if it was switched with The Scent of Roses s04e12 - Voodoo Knight, s04e22 - The Scent of Roses. Much better 'ring' to it.
Most people enter a shop: "Hi, do you have......."
Michael Knight: Straight crane kick in the face
😆😆😆😆
Lmao
I feel sympathy for Michael who lost his wife,I know how he feels I lost someone who I loved very much about 12 years ago 💔.
Sorry for your loss.
it's not real
Don't you just love these little extras they throw in? Like here, when they fired 12 missiles from 9 launch tubes? Or on other episodes, where 11 shots come from a 6 shot revolver?
KITT: Michael! Michael! Stop it! You wouldn't be able to live with yourself!
Michael: [to Durant] You're not gonna die today, it's too easy. If you're lucky, you'll be executed after the trial. If not, you're gonna watch your life rot away in the mirror of a prison cell!
prison cells have mirrors?
@@aliali-ce3yfnot literally, he probably meant in isolation... Although a cell with all mirrors, that would be a nightmare.
@@pam1244this is just like 1989 Bond Film license To Kill tgis is the only time Micheal went rouge
@@JustinMacri007been a while since I've seen a bond movie, I remember that one.
Durant should waste away in a Supermax.
The original knight rider..my all time favorite show 💯💯💯
Karr would've let Micheal finish him.
If KARR didn't do the job first, if he and Michael were partners.
Karr was so narcissistic, he would have not let a woman come between him and Michael and do away with Michael's wife himself. And blame her death on Michael.
Karr would have probably encouraged Michael.
I agree with those points.
It would’ve been interesting if, as a follow up to “KITT vs KARR” and “Knight of the Juggernaut” that KARR was being rebuilt by the Foundation as part of the attempt to spread the workload in acknowledgement that Michael was getting older and putting all that responsibility on one man is a failure waiting to happen.
Just because one man can make a difference, doesn’t mean only one man should solve all the world’s problems.
It would’ve been a great move if a reprogrammed KARR and RC3 were revealed to Michael as the plan to expand the program.
As a result of “Scent of Roses”, perhaps Michael, knowing KITT’s ethical programming, goes and turns KARR loose, so KITT and he still have an alibi.
A Peter Fries voiced KARR with just enough software patches to protect Foundation personnel’s lives over criminal suspects turned loose to interrogate, torture, and deliver Durant at Devon’s and Michael’s feet, begging for mercy, would’ve been an interesting scene.
That Karate Kid Crame was Awesome. Don't mess with The Hoff!!!
Show was and is the greatest of it's kind
This should have been the last episode.
It was intended to be the final episode.
It IS the final episode--it aired in the middle of the season!
@@Anonymous-qg9xx But not at the end of the season. Duh.
KITT was a true friend.
In this episode, This was IMO, Hasselhoff's finest hour.
Loved watchin knight rider
Durant, You Signed Your Own Death Certificate, When You Killed Stevie😊.
Facts i grown up on it one man can make a difference Michael
Big fan since i was 1982
To me, this is the last episode after what happened to Stevie
I love this show I grew up watching it
If Durant would have just left Michael alone, he wouldn't have gone to jail. Michael would have married Stevie and been out of the way. But Durant's continued attempts to kill Michael eventually led to his capture.
Awesome episode my favorite episode cause you have the badass I blank out the foundation line by the Hoff. Well said the Hoff well said
I grew up watching knight rider as a kid. One of my favorite TV shows😊
Sir David Hasselhoff is heroe!!! COOL!!! 😻💜🎸⚡
This episode should've been the series finale.
It was too dark and grim for the viewers.
Ironically the episode that was the series finale is considered by many people, myself included, to be the worst episode in the series.
@@tyrese3745 It's literally the second highest rated episode of the series after KITT Versus KARR according to IMDb users. You clearly haven't got a clue what you're talking about. This episode nearly saved the show for a 5th season -- it did amazing Nielsen ratings during sweeps week. Unfortunately, NBC panicked when they saw how low the ratings dipped for the final few episodes like Voodoo Knight.
The saddest episode ever 😔. I wish that the series had of ended with Michael and Stevie getting married (without Stevie dying). If Durant was smart, he would have left Michael alone.
I love the Mexican parody made of the beginning of this vlog.
I wasn’t born in the 80s but I can tell you that Knight Rider was on TV when I was younger
El Auto Fantástico, esencia de rosas, capitulo 12 de la temporada 4
KITT ZO GOOD
Such great acting in this episode…albeit sad.
I grew up with knight riders.
3:56 KARR: Press Turbo Boost... Press it...
Back then I was wondering, why hasn't KITT transformed into Airwolf?!......
That's why they call him the "Nit Ridder". He rids you of all your nits, lol :)
grow up.
KITT is the best friend one could ever have. KITT could have stopped it easily, but endured to the end...even being the voice of reason in the end. He preserved human life...even if it was a piece of 💩 who deserved to die in a heap.
I love that they have only one explosion sound and keep spamming it over and over.
This was a sad episode. I was convinced this was going to be the end of Knight Rider (which it was supposed to be.) KITT wasn't human, but he reminded Michael that he was, and that killing Durant wouldn't make things better.
In my eyes (too), this is the final of Season 4. All episodes after this one are either an unofficial Season 5, or a loooooong epilogue.
4:25 KARR: Yes Michael, Give him what he deservers. Then put him inside and I'll slowly remove the air from the passenger compartment.
I can see this as an alternative 😂 love it!!!
"YOU'VE GOT FIFTY-NINE MINUTES!!!!!" Whoa! It looks like Michal was ready to KILL Durant and beat him to death! Not that this monster wouldn't deserve it after killing poor Stevie and widowing Michael so quickly.
YOU GOT 59 MINUTES!!!!
Durant must have been KARR in human form!!! If KARR was human...I wonder what previous bad guy could be KARR!!!
Nah. KARR is only interested in self preservation. He won’t do anything that won’t benefit him.
Hi Michael I love you
Michael went to the dark side of the force. In this moment he was blinded by rage and was not thinking clearly. Basically, he was no longer fit to be in control of KITT. Tearing up the town ruthlessly beating up the bad guys was not going to bring his murdered wife back. Killing Durant would have been crossing the line from which there would be no return. KITT should have taken control and delivered Michael to the foundation so that Devon could talk some sense into him.
4:25 - One car can make a difference.
He turned into garth 😂😂😂😂
Bierz ich Michael 👍
Like I said. Out. For. Blood!
Durante's blood!!! RAMBO KNIGHT!!!
KITT was Out For Oil!
a couple of things you don’t do you don’t tug on super man cape you don’t spit in the wind and you clearly don’t kill Michael wife
These are like Hammas rocket non hit the target 😂
there is a Knight Rider in Spanish parody in the tire shop that is hysterical.
I don’t blame Michael night for being furious. It’s one thing for Durant. To kill Michael Knight. But to kill his wife? Michael Knight‘s revenge is justified as far as I’m concerned 2:45
This episode reminds me of Miami Vice when Sonny Crockett’s wife Caitlyn was killed, went into a depression, then came out of it and killed Hackman

there's been debate as to whether this was supposed to be season/series finale or not. i wish it was. much better than the dud that was. even if you didn't know if you were coming back for a fifth season (though by this point they probably knew as they were roughly halfway through the season) it still would have made a better finale. and if they come back next year that line we're headed back tot he foundation at end of episode would have still served more or less as a good ending or delete that scene and leave it on a cliff hanger for season 5. this was done so wrong.
Um dos primeiros
