Fr my dad would never show any affection everrr (he does love me but never expresses it) when I was younger I thought he didn't love me and it made my depression worse. But I am completely fine now. Edit: Just woke up and I thought I should share a bit more. I am 18 now and 2 years ago when I was 16, I got really sick one day my head was spinning really badly and I fell on the floor. (I didn't faint, I was still conscious but too weak to move) I think I was there for at least 30-50 min before my mom walked in and saw me. She thought I was unconscious so she started screaming for dad, when he came he too freaked out. And I know it was cruel of me to do so but I decided to pretend that I was unconscious to see their reaction. And my mom AND dad legit started crying. My dad carried me to me bed and his voice broke when he was saying that ''She isn't waking up". And it shook me so much. But guess what? after I opened my eyes he immediately stopped and left the room, while my mom asked if I'm okay and all. Then the rest of the day he acted like nothing happened to me. He didn't even ask if I was okay or if he should take me to the doctor. Now imagine if I actually fainted and woke up to see that my father doesn't even care about me at all, how would've it affected me? Even now never once he showed me any love or care so I had to keep remind myself about that day. Overall no matter how much I love him, I would never allow my child to have a father like him who can't even express his feelings for his child. I would've ended my life thinking that ''It's not like I matter to them" "He doesn't love me at all" and etc
i wanna be a father like this. i didnt have the experience of having a dad in my life because he died 1 month before my 1st birthday, and ill make sure my kids have a great father figure that loves them unconditionally.
I cried abt this video because when I was younger my dad always wrote messages to me in the snow. My dad is now up in heaven and I hope he is having a great time there. This video made my day and brought back memories of him ❤

Felt this, my dad was nothing but an abusive alcoholic and 6 year old me was so naive to keep trusting his empty promises even after the countless times he broke them. I was too young to be crying at night wondering if I did anything wrong. To have a dad that loves his family and shows them just how much they mean to him was what I prayed for as a kid. Growing up with that mindset made me think i was someone worth nothing. Now, I'm 16 and as I got older I learned to appreciate the people who were there for me when he wasn't. Like my mom, there were countless nights she would go hungry to feed me because working one job and having 3 mouths to feed is not easy. Moral of story, appreciate the things we have and learn to love things the way they are. Sorry if this got deep, I just wanted to share my story so that people know that they aren't alone. ❤

I as a 11 year old child wrote good morning on the snow for my new neighbours when i was on the way fishing. About 23 years later my neighbour reminded me this and she had tears in her eyes I dont kniow why. I never realised that little things like that can leave such an impact

Felt this, my dad was nothing but an abusive alcoholic and 6 year old me was so naive to keep trusting his empty promises even after the countless times he broke them. I was too young to be crying at night wondering if I did anything wrong. To have a dad that loves his family and shows them just how much they mean to him was what I prayed for as a kid. Growing up with that mindset made me think i was someone worth nothing. Now, I'm 16 and as I got older I learned to appreciate the people who were there for me when he wasn't. Like my mom, there were countless nights she would go hungry to feed me because working one job and having 3 mouths to feed is not easy. Moral of story, appreciate the things we have and learn to love things the way they are.
Sorry if this got deep, I just wanted to share my story so that people know that they aren't alone. ❤
