I think I like this spin-off series even better than I liked Dirty Jobs. This one seems just a bit more fluidic; less boxed in, less restrictive especially when it comes to Mike's legendary antics.
Creative control is a beautiful thing. Corporate TV is stifling and suffocating to good media.
So excited for the Steam Circus! I think Dan is right when he says kids don't know how to work with their hands. I also think they've lost the ability to use their imagination. I had four sons and you could sit them down with a bucket of Legos and they would build entire towns and vehicles. I have three nephews who are a decade younger than my sons and when they get a LEGO set they use the directions to build it, then they'll throw away the directions and then when the Lego set breaks, they never play with it again, because the idea of them being able to make something else with the Legos they already have doesn't compute and I find it completely tragic! I had two 50 gallon Rubbermaid tubs of Legos and Bionicle pieces my youngest wanted to give to my nephews and they said nah. 🤷♂️ It broke my heart. I felt like it was sacrilegious to throw them away so I ended up giving them to the boys and girls club.
Mike, from what I perceive to be your goal in life, this must be one of your most favorite productions. I am 70 + years old and 100% agree with you that one of the contributors to the demise of this country was the deletion of shop class from the high school curriculum
I worked in construction for 34 years until i hurt my lower back bad. I was always good at fixing problems. Even though i can't work anymore i still have a lot of knowledge and can teach if someone wants to learn
Two bit circus!!! Way to go!! Thanks Mike Rowe for bringing it to the forefront. Exactly what this country needs STEAM!!
Yes!!! I always go to Barbs brewery right where they are! So cool to see on here!!!
These guys just had so much fun showing Mike everything!
My 7 year old loves to learn how things work by taking them apart and putting them back together. He's been our battery replacer since he was 3. Got his first hammer then as well.
Absolutely amazing! As a teacher at 45 years old, we live in a new generation that has to keep up with the times & inspire the next generation with the technology that they know. They can excel beyond our expectations!! I loved this so much. ❤
I honestly look forward to every episode, there isn't anything that has been covered that I thought was boring. My only thing would be is the episodes are over way too soon. Congratulations Mike and Company, you guys rock.
Are you aware this show ended in 2018? You can find all four seasons online. It is however nice of Mike to upload them to his channel for ease of viewing.
@alexubel I had no idea it had ended. Thank You for letting me know. I appreciate it. I just hate I had never heard of it until recently
Never hear dof it until today. And I am a huge Mike Rowe fan. A shame it's over. Loved this episode. I want to go there and learn!
THIS is awesome. I wish every kid had access to programs like this so they could do something meaningful instead of staring at a phone.
feel free to start helping with that rather then shit talk kids online
This is brilliant. From someone who HAD wood and electrical shop in public school Of course, our high point was cooking hotdogs by impaling them with wired nails, and plugging them in.
Love how excited they are about everything! I wish thisbplace was closer to my neck-of-the-woods my son would LOVE this!!! Good for all of u. Showing kids there is more fun then looking at a screen!
Thank you for continuing to highlight the best and the brightest among us. Even after 6 decades of existence, they inspire me to do more, to stretch boundaries and to keep spreading joy! 🌲🐿🍄🌿
Im very happy to see you doing this, and REALLY happy i stumbled upon it!
Well done guys! Great innovation!
I think a parallel can be drawn between the curiosity to take apart one's toys to see how they work and then having to put them back together so that they work vs. just buying a new one and the current education systems practice of indoctrinating kid in what to think vs. how to think. My taking things apart when I was young gave me the mindset to be an aircraft mechanic in the USAF and then go on to get a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
I believe that the current education system is more interested in indoctrinating kids in what to think, creating mindless little robots that are easily controlled than those that think for themselves and think out of the box. The individuals at this STEAM circus are a group of individuals that bucked the system and dare to think out of the box. This country was built by people like this. This concept reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: “Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call to her tribunal every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear.” - Thomas Jefferson
I remember driving home from work one afternoon and hearing an ad on the radio advertising an program in MBA. I had a particularly bad day at work and I remember yelling at the radio, frak you and your MBAs, get a degree in some kind of engineering and learn to actually create something!
What an amazing group of people... as well as Mike and the crew. They've got great ideas and are doing a great job. I hope they're able to enlighten the views of our youth and even some adults.
My son will be 27 in june, anything that broke or wore out, we took apart. As he got to mid elementary school, I'd make him draw or list what he thought was inside. (Had a lot of flashlights with missing pieces, lol) currently he has my dads McCormick Cub completely (!!) apart & on shelves... He works as a crane operator & truck driver, loves to disassemble & repair heavy equipment down to small engines. But at 2, he ran the shop vac on my constructions sites better than all of the guys I'd fired over the last 45 years! Gotta teach them but also fan the flames of curiosity... Thanx ! (Scouts may have helped, lol, as an Eagle, lol!!
This is an absolutely inspiring group of geniuses. Excellent concept to get our youth fired up about merging technology and fun. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I was just gonna say the same thing.
Im so stoked i found this channel today! Ive been watching you for so many years. Just good tv
I can only hope they get bigger and more popular! I would've loved to have worked at a place like that. :o)
Mike this was a fun one. Well heck. They’re all usually fun but this one stimulated my brain stuff🤣
Mike, you have brains and charm, thanks for the work.
This is probably my favorite so far!!! ❤
'it drives so fast, it feels like it breaking apart' 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m loving this so great to see young people using their brains and creating fun and useful things it makes me think our future is looking better.
As a retired teacher, I say the biggest issue in Education is TOO MUCH TESTING, TOO MUCH TEACHING TO THE TEST, NOT ENOUGH TRADES BEING AVAILABLE ALSO. CHARTER/PRIVATE/RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS GETTING FUNDING, STUDENTS, TEACHERS, FROM PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
Not sure about your state, but in mine the private schools may get students but the funding doesn't follow. They may get some teachers, but at the private school my daughter goes to, they're paid less than they would be in a public school in the same area. While I largely agree with you, as a former college-level educator myself (Covid killed our program), I pay both property taxes for the local schools and close to $2k/month. If you want to know where the money goes, look to the administrative levels and repair those. For example at the public university I was teaching at, the president was making $500k +perks while I was lucky to clear $40k with no benefits and was in the classroom 20 hours a week...and the high school level is largely the same (my brother's a high school music teacher who has to have bake sales for guitar strings).
Someone should teach you when it is appropriate to use capital letters 😵💫
PREACH IT
I teach at a private, religious school. We get no money. But I do get to let my students take apart toys 😁
Education companies gotta make that money changing the tests every few years and selling study supplies for it.
this is why I love doing Electrical work.. no one tells me how to get anything done, they just give me blueprints and I have to figure out how to make it a reality.
This group of people have so much energy and positivity and ambition. America needs more folks like this inspiring our youth. Thanks for sharing this to your audience.
Cheers from Texas
Its great to see things like this as it brings back the age of invention. I trained with an actual circus for awhile you don't understand how much science and knowledge is required and the cool thing is they normally think out of the box like clearly these people do :)
These Guys & Gals really have spark ! I hope they get the Interest & Funding they need to get this rolling. It would be Great for Schools to get the kids interested in, like school trips & such. There are a lot of kids that are truly bored with school or not good in certain subjects. But making things work, hands on type things they can do & excel in.
"stretch Armstrong is full of disappointing fluids" -Mike Rowe. Best quote.
Awesome! I am 70 years old and loving this. When my son was little he was brainy. I used to have to keep that brain busy, so I often took him to second-hand stores and let him load up on worn-down electronics and other interesting stuff. He took it all apart and had a blast. I was also the mom who didn't make him quit playing video games...I just knew...and today he is (I can't tell you who he is) a big shot in vid games! Thanks, Mike, for another great show!
Hey Mikey! I liked it! I liked the video a lot. It was awesome to see your "Creative Inner Child" come out full on. In this intuitive toy laboratory.. Kudos and Cheers, Mate.
That was great an very interesting. Thanks 👍 for sharing 😊.
I agree with everything they and Mike said. Educate, Educate, EDUCATE !!!
I love the hanging Chandelier on the moving table.
This is amazing!! The world in general could use more people like this!!
Im 22 I've watched u on dirty jobs since I was kid and this new stuff on CZcams is awesome 😊
excellent, brilliant and fun all in one!
Always LOVE Mike's personality and sense of humor! 👍
Perfect example that education does not equate intelligence.
Did you miss all the Phds and Doctorates?
There was 4,000 years of schooling just at the Bike/Table.
You can only think outside of the box, when you know what the box IS.
@Benny Boogenheimer that box metaphor is astounding and I would say, not untrue. 👍
I love A Movable Feast! The best part of it is the chandelier.
Absolutely Love this and what these people are doing!!!
i miss dirty jobs. this is next best thing to have you back on tv doing interesting things
Love this episode...whatta gem of innovations
Mike, love your shows. Always an inspiration.

Thank you Mike for exploiting the ingenuity of science and collaboration of science into applicability of STEM discovery. Great episode.
This new(er) series from Mike Rowe is possibly the best he has ever done. The guys and gals at the STEM or STEAM CO. seem to have a blast at what they do, and what they are trying to get across to the younger generation, and the older generation as well is this country has gotten used to a disposable economy which has become more dumb and less common sense than ones of many years ago. Way to go Mike Rowe showcasing talent from people with intelligence and drive!!!
Sheriff and Robbers on the horse back would be a fun shooting game.
Wearable technology and you didn't mention a watch lol!
This was an awesome watch! Love to see young people with such knowledgeable trying to keep it alive and keep kids interested because now a days kids want things to be just handed to them with no work or knowledge.
This one is just great, love it !
Another brilliant, fun and inspiring episode, Mike! There are a couple of those Moveable Feats here in Prague
Loved the wearable electronics! Immediately I can see GPS fir children and elderly for assistance in getting home and locating the lost.
I'm semi retired from research and love seeing our youth using unique approaches. I hate the expression thinking outside the box, cats love boxed thinking 😂
I really wish there was a collaboration between Mark Rowe and Mark Rober. The world needs more of Rowe’s attitude and integrity and more of Rober’s ingenuity and reach.
thanks for the vid that was awesome great bunch of fun young minds

that part of the show reminded me of stories my mother would tell me, like one time I was 3-4 and I come out of my room and open my hand and I have a hand full of screws, she asks, “where did you get those from?”And I said “my bed” and she says “well go put them all back in.” And sure enough I put every single one right back where it came from. She said she had came home to every striker plate taken off of every door in the house before.. lol you really couldn’t leave tools around me as a child or I would find something to take apart. lol
I loved this. Had to send to the kids! Stretch Armstrong. ...OMG!!
We used to have electronic stores to buy the bits & pieces but they closed up long ago before the hobby shops. We need to push kids to be creative as they will be producing the things of the future... :(
Mike is living the best life that anyone could ask for. 🙏🙏🙏
That labyrinth game is AWSOME!!!!!
This is a fantastic idea!!!!!! Wow!!!! Man I gotta find out if these guys need a graphic designer helper because I wanna be part of this sooo freaking bad!!!
Totally awesome !!! ❤
It wasn’t mentioned, but Brent Bushnell is the son of Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari. Looks like he has his fathers chops of inventing and investing.
The light up dress thing is something Disney has been working on for some years.
And if someone shows some new ideas or high skills in this manner, you might get hired by Disney.
If you want to feature someone who’s at the height of engineering the craziest things… Look up Mike Patey. He’s the man behind the Red Bull airplane that landed on a helipad in Dubai….58 stories above ground.
That was a fun one for me. 👍👍
Yes !! Great stuff !!
Nice to see some highly qualified young engineers. I work in the utility industry, and my company has been hiring with diversity as a key qualifier. That works as well as you might expect hiring people who have limited abilities. I've been taking more time off to keep from being questioned on how to do EVERYTHING by hires that should know basic information and have basic skills.
Wow these guys are Awesome!
The guy with the Mohawk. He's on outrageous acts of science on discovery. Nice to see where he comes from and what he does.
This is amazing!!! Subscribed
Augusta GA has that peddle dining table, but this one is a bar, and it runs up and down Broad st.
Wow this episode was amazing
Lol. That dining table sort of is a thing here in the netherlands. We have giant beer bikes which are basically the same. There is one designated driver and everyone else peddles the bike and drinks beer.
LOVE. THIS CHANNEL!
Fabulous!
I hope this does make it big. Anything to get kids back out and moving.
Now doing THAT- would definitely been my dream job! Those are my people!
We have something just like this in my city in Australia - it's called SciTech! It's technically a science museum, but it's really just the same as this!
Love this series!
I remember Eric Gradman from the 2012 tv show Outrageous Acts of Science 😁
Great show Wildman.
engineer called Brian Busby, he was a great guy could make and fix literally anything.
That Triumph is sick!
I loved this episode ❤
I cut up my Stretch Armstrong!😅😂
14:55 Downtown LA? That downtown must be huge (iconic skyscraper is pretty far away)
Loved it!
I think Mark Rober and his Crunch Labs team would like to take a visit to that place.
Definitely need more celebrating the out of the box thinkers. Arts in schools helps to grow the next builder brains.
What an awesome place!
My kids elementary school has decided to discontinue teaching the STEM class.
Great kids. luv it.
Love it!
My day genuinely gets better when I know I’ve got an episode of Mike to watch while I eat din din
Dining table is cool as shit I can't stop commenting on this episode these guys or my people
Never stop making these videos
Such fun❣️
This place is amazing, i want to work here
