Rupaul’s Drag Race All Stars: Tax Deductible race
Exactly
my first thoughts!
Explains the studio filmed finale of S16 lol Ru seems to have spent a lot this year.
What do you mean by that?
@@saelfaddoul9252 donating to charity allows RPDR to claim this on taxes, reducing their tax costs
i honestly think we are going to get a really fun season where all the girls are actually enjoying their time and having fun instead of being overstressed! Can't wait for that season honestly, really fun cast!
Ahhhh i know!!! I’ve been craving a more fun time getting to know all the queens. It’s always disappointing when a queen with so much KVNT or personality with drama potential leaves early. Give more queens, less acting challenges!!! Hahaha
Give drag race Sverige a try! Its pretty much like that
@@tiasson6938interesting, last year I struggled to watch all... So I watched almost none 😮 I heard Sverige was bad tho, but I'll watch it, some people are just too critical 😊
Roxxy Andrews is literally on this season, there will certainly be drama 😂
@@AA-cl2oqyeah but it’s gonna be the fun kinda drama, not the alexis michelle kinda drama
After the last All Stars season where Ru had to step in when there was discord and queens threatening to walk out, I'm not surprised they've decided to take this approach.
Should’ve been done something like that tbh. Competing on a show is expensive and drag and make up is expensive as well. Making outfits or getting people to do it is just as expensive. Not to mention wigs and accessories and heals too ❤
Exactly, lost all respect for Heidi
@@y2kstar306why would you lose respect for the competitors and not production? lol
@@y2kstar306Heidi didn’t do anything except act normally…a greedy company was taking advantage of a vulnerable person for reality tv, just stfu
@@y2kstar306girl nobody care if you lost respect. You don’t know anything about production OR their rigging. Have you been to drag race? Stay inna fans place
I really liked the non elimination format, and if it's for a charity, I think many queens will consider coming back for All Stars. It might take out the aggressive aspect of competition between the queens, but I don't live for that. Regular seasons are here for this. Cannot wait to see how this season turns out!
i agree so much especially since the queens got money for their outfits and we get to see all of them so I'm very excited for this season
I agree this much more productive and hopefully we can find a way a queen can “win “
This is really how it’s gotta be going forward. The girls don’t wanna risk being an all stars early out and damaging their image. I’m still waiting for an All Stars full of first and second out girls though!
Already after the premiere detox said she would do as10 if it has the same format as 9 same with Naomi smalls. More queens are willing to come back with this format and especially fan favorites
It’s been rumored each of the queens were given 25K as stipend for looks, and 50K as an appearance fee
It's about time. It's just a shame that the show can't either offer a stipend for the queens competing on their first season or enforce a spending cap in the interest of keeping the playing field level. Each of these Season 9 queens already command insanely high appearance fees everytime they have a date booked yet some of the first-run girls make little more than $100 a night before coming to _Drag Race_ and either have to take a leave of absence or quit their day jobs entirely with no guarantee they'll make it past the first episode.
@@giggles7179 the stipend seems better cause a spending cap just would not be fair to some queens. Mainly for those living in expensive areas where fabric and designers can cost much more automatically. As well as unfair to plus size queens where they are charged more for fabric be it via a fabric store or designer.
I hope this is true, the girls spend staggering amounts of money each season, and the winnings don't even cover their expenses.
@@alicemichaelis9468 come on, fat people can lose weight. If they want to spend less on fabric, go on a diet
@@niemand9362 Not that simple. Health problems can interrupt that. There's more to weight loss than dieting. Some people, especially older queens/people, also have slower metabolisms due to age.
These aren't excuses but you need to stop feigning ignorance to the fact it's more than just a "healthy diet" for some.
More screen time for the queens is definitely better. This affects their careers... i do hope there will be interedting twists thooo
Tbh this is something we saw with Shea and Monet at the end of the season; they were stuck there and obviously not gonna win, and they turned down a lot of opportunities to be on All Stars and not win.
@@ChattyWinnerwho cares? Theres only one winner. They know what they signed up for
Honestly this non-elimination SHOULD be the All Stars format, like they all paid their main competition dues, let them have fun and REALLY show their best form
It's let's all the Queen's also show off everything they paid for ON THE SHOW
Yes. One of the reasons season 7 was SO good is because they were all just having fun and able to show their best. Let's see how the season goes before we start judging it. I know a lot of queens wouldn't come back before but this may change things.
Q2 h. 2 h 77 7@@kdsproxima
I also dont think you'd get queens like mik. Plastique and nina coming back without it
@@callyfootexactly! They’ve got stuff going on without drag race, why would they risk having bad luck on a challenge and damaging their image by being an early out on All Stars? It would be better to permanently be a girl everyone wishes would do All Stars.
I'd rather have this, not only is the incentive to come back bigger but coming back is so expensive it's only fair to give them a budget so they can showcase each of their individual creativities
Girl gotmik managed 2 looks with that $50k budget 😂
@@jboww2121 this on yhem for noy budgeting better lmao
I like the charity/non elimination idea. Maybe more will actually come back like Trixie, Bob, Bianca
Kimchi too
They don't seem like people who would like to join the competition again, even with non-elimination format
@@reginabilalova5989 I think they would play for charity. Could be wrong
I feel like this is just a season to promote their Vegas show. Because haven’t all of them been in it
I’m comfortable with that 🤷♀️ sounds better than AS8 lol
Still I think is a very strong cast with iconic queens, none of them feel like fillers. Maybe Jorgeous but she performs like no other so she has that going for her.
Yes they all have lol
@@Javier-zw9sx it's too early for Jorgeous but she's definitely not a filler.
Even Nina?
All of these queens have already proven themselves. All Stars is either extra cash, coming back into view, or just for fun.
I definitely prefer non elimination. Why make them struggle to stay, let them show off what they are good at, and continue to improve on what they are bad at.
I think non-elimination seasons should be kept for winners and legends only. I already watched season 14, I don't need to watch Jorgeous in the bottom basically every week
LMAOOO mean 😂
@@bonelegged maybe, but I'm willing to give her a chance. I just can't sit through a season of someone saying "I'm not good at this" for 75% of the challenges
I thought it, you said it...
I think the non-elimination format should be reserved for the best of the best. I love Jeorgous, but I don't think she is on the same level as the others this season. I'm starting to believe the rumors that she is Ru's favorite.
Their looks being paid for by production was my only concern. If they're not dropping serious coin on looks only for the price money (if they even win) to go to charity, then I don't see an issue
If wow is paying them for their outfits it's a good investment for them cuz they'll show up in those runways for the Vegas show
@@mysticalmidnightmaskthat's an interesting take, I didn't think about that
I heard it was the other way around, they were paid 50k for the appearance and 20k to help with their runways
that Got Mik look was EVERYTHING
More like nothing with the white face again.
Honestly I think this season is gonna be sooooo good
When you think about how often local performers and bars do charity events it makes sense to take part in this as it is a part of queer and drag culture in it's own right. Not every season needs to be this but it's a fresh idea that I can get behind as this show becomes more mainstream. Using that platform for good!
Look at gotmik I can't... That hair is unbelievable. She's art.
More like art in 5th’s grade.
I feel this could be like an all-winners format, if there's no elimination; a points system.
Honestly, drag race fans grossly misunderstand the state of all stars. We’re at a point in the show where most of the true “all stars” are not risking their established and successful careers to come back to the show. If there is eliminations, they will complain it’s “some stars” because these heavy hitters are only gonna accept a non elimination season at this point. If you want eliminations, great we’ll just have an all stars season where half the cast is first second and third boots. if you want your big names you’re gonna have to sacrifice eliminations.
I think part of that problem is that All Stars is so frequent now, and it's less of a "special event". I think they either need to do All Stars less frequently so they don't burn through the cast so quickly, or have non-elimination formats so more established queens are willing to come back, or both.
I like the non elimination aspect of it for AllStars 😊 if they're all properly remunerated and the wardrobe is paid for - why not have a fun season where no one is leaving in tears.
I love the non elimination with All Stars because it gives us more time with each of the dolls! Also giving to charity is a very noble thing to do and looks good for the brand.
I think I prefer eliminations. But with a fair treatment to the queens. Non elimination episodes, crazy twists and all this thinks are a BIG THING in all stars. Idk how they gonna fill that blanc. I hope it'ill be iconic, but I'm not that exited. I prefer bigger casts, at least 10 queens, more episodes.
I would do 2-3 episodes with rate-a-queen, then eliminations, and then a road to the crown without eliminations and special episodes with the returning queens. Something like that i think it would be more fun and dramatic.
i'm fine with the non-eliminations format if they are ALL STARS... AS8's impact though
Giving an allowance for outifts should be the norm.
I love the format of none elimination. All stars is suppose to show us there growth not them leaving early and us having to look around like wtf
It has to be better than AS8 when Heidi left the show and didn’t 3 other queen’s allegedly threaten to quit too? Jessica wild? Kandy? Kahana? Ru needs to figure something out lol I think this season is a nudge in the right direction
I kinda wish there was a way for queens considered legends who don't wanna go through the theatrics of regular drag race to just come for all stars and showcase their drag. Just an all winner's format, shorter season: ball, snatch game, girl groups, comedy, maybe an improv or a rusical and a talent show/one woman show.
Yeah, I'd love to see more non-competition variety shows or specials.
I find it hard to imagine there being drama this season. I think they will push themselves to perform well less, too. I could be proven wrong though…!
I had heard it was the other way around, (25K for costumes, 50K appearance) but glad to know they're getting paid!
This is going to be a sick3ning season
What does 3 have to do with it
Honestly, im just so excited to see plastique and angie and shannel Im so glad it’s a nonelimination season I never have to watch them leave! And Nina gets to stay the whole season
It's a shame that you are bringing this subject up since it's for charity. Who cares if they receive any money from production, you are missing the point snob. Underestimating what queens are trying to do.
lol YES exactly!!!! Yikes for anyone who doesn’t already understand that!!!
Appearance fees and runway allowances for all queens should be the standard imo
I like that the money is going to charity.
I’m so excited for this group of girls!!! ❤
it's an opportunity for all the querns to show their full catalog and gain more/new fans. It's amazing, an anyone fake-worried about the integrity of the competition can get a grip. I just want to see amazing drag and entertaining interactions between the qweens and Ru.
Any opportunity to be on TV, especially emmy award winning RPDR is worth it. They got great stipends, and the exposure is worth it alone.
I love the concept for this one, though I wish maybe they added in more queens who had less screen time for a non-elim season like this, omg I just want Maddy back so bad. I love the picks though still regardless, excited to see Angeria again, wish Camden was back with her bc those two were so cute on screen 😭❤️
Same with Shannel, being on Season 1 with the pitiful budget and All Stars 1 which was just messy, I’m happy to see her back
Frankly most people will never be in a position to donate at that level so it goes without saying, YES ! At least for those who have the intention of helping a cause or need
The very exact question that popped in my head yesterday.
I mean we can tell just by the promo looks that they have been given MONEY.
Like Plastique????? Angeria????
I heard it was a 50k appearance fee and 25k for outfits
I heard they got paid a larger appearance fee to make up for the prize money, I think Heidi mentioned that.
If I’m going in drag race I’m playing to win cash idc about charity I spent money on it so your giving me my winning prize
Can't wait too see it tomorrow! 😁
I love eliminations but for the sake of the queens this is def a better move. I like the idea of donations and paying queens too! This whole approach to me feels more like an all stars setting that respects drag artistry and the people behind it!
It’s worth it to get these queens who are there for a good cause! Let’s roll with it and may the best woman, win!
I'm so glad to see them branching out from the elimination format for All Stars - the Queens having to be the ones to choose who went home each week really sapped the fun out of the experience and drag started to take a backseat to the social game which was exhausting
I honestly love this idea (but I’m also glad the queens are at least getting some money for themselves too)
I feel good about this season all stars 8 was kinda stressful too watch with drama after filming and queens quitting or wanting to quit.
ITS THE VISIBILITY, THE PLATFORM!!!!!!!!!!!
The non-elimination format gave us one of the greatest Snatch Game performances of all time, Jinkx as Judy Garland, and it didnt cause any sort of discord when she would go off on tangents. People could take risks and really give it their all since they werent worried about not being there next week. Lol perfect format for All Stars honestly. The queens can really cut loose.
I honestly would prefer the non-elimination format. It takes away a lot of the stress of the competition and allows the queens to have more fun. This in turn may also make more queens consider coming back in the future. The only con I see is the lack of queens returning each season, but AS7 was still a blast, and it also allows each queen's story to he naturally fleshed out throughout the runtime. I don't think non-eliminations should bleed into the regular seasons of Drag Race, but I see non-elimination All Stars to be a big net positive.
I love this format
I was not feeling this format but after seeing the comments people saying the queens might be less stressed and having more fun, I think it there may be a potential there.
I mean if they are getting $75,000 anyway, it's not like they're not getting any money and at least this way they are guaranteed to get at least some money straight up
I think it's nice that there's a non elimination option. But It feels like the shows not going to ask queens that haven't been able to show how much they've changed since their season. Like I really don't think they'll ask Dida, lashawn, jaidynn if there's something like this where all the big names (mainly finalists) can do it virtually risk free.
I like it! It reminds me of Top Chef vs Master Chef, where the Master Chefs are already deeply established in their industry and compete for charity, this cast in particular will be perfect for this format since all these girls are already so polished in their drag and well known within the realm of Drag Race
GOTMILK's clothes are magnetizing
I think if they go the way of talking about their charity every episode to get publicity for small charities I think it would be great to help
For All-stars a non elimination format works but with a smaller cast.
If they gave them money for drag than it’s basically free outfits and exposure. Sounds great.
At the end of the day, the charities win because the show spreads awareness so people will donate themselves.
Getting to see what ALL STARS give in every Episode is more Exciting! It’s still a game with a Crowned 👑 Winner at the end 🫶🏽
I can’t wait to watch this
I like this format
All Stars 7 is straight up my favorite ever season of Drag Race. Sure, they were all winners and super talented, but it's also just so much less stressful and crazy than other seasons. I just loved it. This should still be really great TV.
I actually think it’s a fab idea. I’m glad the queens got a good amount to go on and spend for runways, I would love them all to get that bag as well but being that it’s for charity, maybe they will give out more cash prizes, it’s a good idea and it it’s what motivated queens to go on then I ain’t mad.
if this exact format comes back for another season, my dream cast would be peppermint, asia, gigi, camden, bosco, anetra, mistress, and sapphira. 😭
my question is is the winner going to get their own prize money and crown or is it just competing for charity cuz I think most queens would want to compete for the prize money
I'm happy with no elims, showcase that talent baby! Also it costs too much so I'm glad they get help
Mama ru tryna get the charity tax breaks
I hope this is expensive so we don't have that many seasons that often
Is cute and all but now they have to do this from now on or else people will say they are bad people. I personally liked the eliminations for All Stars. That format has given us the more interesting Drag Race moments in recent years…like “LIFE’S NOT FAIR!”, I MEAN THE ENTIRETY OF ALL STARS 2, Ben DeLaCreme sending herself home when she was totally going to win, Ginger’s “The got me gal”🤔and Detox’s cackling, the super dramatic yet cheesy tapping of the lipsticks with their nails, Silky’s exit after a 6 win streak by shaking her a$$ lmfao.
This is just a variety show for charity…what are the stakes? There are none.
I think the queens will be motivated by the prospect of increasing their fame, getting more bookings, getting higher booking fees etc, based on how well they're able to perform on the season. I mean, who doesn't wanna be the next Trixie mattel? The next Chad Michaels? Their net worths are CRAZY, way beyond some All Stars prize money.
Drag race, to me, seems like a way that queens can build a portfolio of well-known exceptional performances. People see these videos, see them on TV, whatever, and go "I want that girl in my show" or "I want a ticket to that girl's tour"
oh my god! gottmick! that is not a drawing!?!? D8
I would like to see eliminations
See, this is interesting. Pay for the girls to have stellar looks. Pay them for their time. Get a damn good season. You know plain would have the time of her life in a non elimination situation.
i like the idea that the allstars you are given a budget/reimbursement for your package. and if you're competing for a charity of choice, it gives the queens a reason to "try" aside from just getting more superficial screentime. this is ultimately a win for the franchise
There is no world in which 8 queens of 200+ agree to go into debt to compete for a cash prize that they can’t take home. Mark my words, they’re competing for $100k for their charity, but also $200k for themselves.
It’s fun and refreshing to be seeing my favorite through out the season without worrying they might be eliminated BUT I would also prefer Naomi smalls though
I like the non elimination format as this is exactly what we need for All Stars 9 since it’s about donating to charity after how toxic All Stars 8 became with many queens quitting!
Maybe It's a Conspiracy! Did You Get Enough Red String for Everyone! Oh, the DRAMA!
I saw a post that has theorized that the format for all non main seasons is going to be changed up pretty soon. That regular All Stars is going to basically be this from now on, a way for these superstars to show how they've improved in not so competitively (in less of an "I'm better than you" way) whereas Global All Stars and Vs The World Seasons are going to be the seasons for those who really want to actually compete and will have eliminations. Aka, regular All Stars is taking a turn so it's more of a showcase of the improvement while also giving to a good cause. Because really, what's the point of having drama in a season where at the end of it all a bunch of money is gonna go to charity? Theoretically they've gotten their money to appear and for costumes, so they've been paid. It's Chopped for Drag Queens. Whereas VTW and Global All Stars (Won't be surprised if they need to find something different to call it) will be the actual competitive seasons
25K is how much I would imagine Mik spending on one look, and that's not a read. She looks sickening every time.
I thinks it’s great just as long as they got paid as well bc they spend soooo much money on it
I think after the success of the non elimination of as7 and the drama of as8, I’m here for this format. Plus it’s for a good cause and the queens got some coin upfront plus a little extra for runway compensation. Plus considering how damaging the “make the queens do the elimination” was to several queens reputations and mental health, I think this is the best way for the series to save themselves and try to get queens on board with being on the show again.
NON elimination should be reserved for all winners, but it would be interesting to see how it would turn out
I love a non-elimination race. This way you get to see all the queens looks.
I think future all stars should be none eliminating now and have a prize money still but i feel queens will enjoy it alot more also means fans can get to the queens and to gain more following
This all stars I love it tbh
I think if it’s for charity, then yes providing the competitors $ for runways and packages makes sense. Because at the end of the day they’re already giving up their winnings to charity and they’re not making money (other than the standard paid per episode in the contracts) while filming so gigs are lost. I think production should pay the girls $ for their packages. But I also think production should at least even on regular seasons give the queens they cast money to put their packages together. A standard $10k across the board so even if you are a queen who doesn’t have the resources and $ to go all out. You have this $ to get you started.
If it’s a cast that’s like this, then no elimination is awesome 😊
The all got paid this time 75 tsd Dollars each so its worth it plus publicity for their drag
I'm here for it
I like when they change it up. It’s easy to get stuck doing the same thing repeatedly. I feel like it’ll be more upbeat and playful than competitive and dramatic.
i’m ok with elimination IF it starts only at the halfway mark
I just wish there was more than 8 queens, but at least they'll be less stressed this time.
as a wise lady from drag race, UK, season 3 once said give the crown to charity
