    been playing Underworlds for years... so the bladeborn option really made transition into Warcry simple ... I had 2 painted 1k warbands with almost no effort ... this kind of synergy actually worked to get me into another GW game in a fun easy way

    • @OffMetaMusings
      @OffMetaMusings  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Yeah of course! Most WH:U warbands come to a bit over 500 points anyway so its real easy to get into warcry with any two from the same Grand Alliance

    for Destruction: I just felt the sleeper is Grinkrak's Looncourt
    getting the others to move later is nice (just pray for that fall damage to not happen).
    a Boingrot Bounder, and a Grot with Swift as a Wind.
    tough to use, but once getting used to them, it becomes great for treasure or objectives

    Great video! I’d love to see this format really take off. Also, I’d like to throw my hat in for Grinkraks Looncourt …they are a load of fun to play and they came with rules in that WD 477, if you can get your hands on it.

      Ah yeah, the looncourt does have some pretty fancy pieces in there :)

    I would be interested to see how the other Order shooty allies compare to Pock in an analysis video

    What a fantastic video. Hopefully this encourages more Shadespire players to try Warcry. On a side note I’m very interested in seeing what rules they give the new White Dwarf model for Warcry.

    • @OffMetaMusings
      @OffMetaMusings  Před 4 měsíci

      haha, maybe some kind of special mission where an entire warband has to take him down

  •  Před 4 měsíci

    Great video! Is it worth it playing the smaller games from the White Dwarf or is it always better to add some fighters and play 1000 points?

    • @OffMetaMusings
      @OffMetaMusings  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I think as a stepping stone into the game the smaller missions are fine but ultimately Warcry is balanced around 1000 points so eventually I'd suggest expanding out to that level (unless you are having fun just doing bladeborn battles in which case, carry on :) )

    Created an interesting list that WarCrier says is legal...curious what you think. Calthia Xandire, Errant Questor grand hammer, hanniver tol, quiet pock, armand callis, mistress verentia, and lyssa revenya 955 pts. So blessing options as well.

    • @OffMetaMusings
      @OffMetaMusings  Před 4 měsíci

      Looks solid. The bonus shooting from Calthia x Pock is pretty strong. I wonder if it might be worth dropping one of them for the two dogs from Hexbanes Hunters. Real cheap way to get more bodies

    • @Vegiroth191
      @Vegiroth191 Před 4 měsíci

      @@OffMetaMusings I wondered that myself but in my experience the dogs end up popped quick usually so didn't know who I could cut. I thought about maybe dropping Lyssa and adding hexbane or something but Lyssa being able to fly and a net like ability might be fun. Not sure what divine blessings to use besides strength on pock with that list.

    • @OffMetaMusings
      @OffMetaMusings  Před 4 měsíci

      @@Vegiroth191 Strength on pock is really all you need. Though I like putting +1 base damage on calthia to make her a 5/4/3/4 which is a real threatening profile.

    • @Vegiroth191
      @Vegiroth191 Před 4 měsíci

      @@OffMetaMusings I've seen that base DMG increase on calthia before. Why is that better than an extra attack for her? Trying to learn and get better. Lost to a constant reviving soul blight in the last tournament and couldn't out VP him.

    Thanks for your videos! I wanted to get into Warcry with Zarbag's Gitz. What I don't understand in your video is why you are talking about 6 fighters? This warband has nine fighters, right?

    • @OffMetaMusings
      @OffMetaMusings  Před 4 měsíci

      Ah right yeah, individually there are 6 different fighters but you can take the shootas up to 3 times and the squigs up to twice. In total if you took everything it would come to 980 points which is just enough for a full size warcry warband :)

  • @Vegiroth191

    Love your videos and your insight on the game. I have an Akhelian King that I got for discount and would love to try in my next Warcry league/tournament. Any ideas for rosters to include him in?

    • @OffMetaMusings
      @OffMetaMusings  Před 4 měsíci

      many thanks :) The Akhelian King works well as a good ally for pretty much any order warband tbh. I've used him in Hunters of Huanchi personally but I've also seen him used to good effect in Vulkyn Flameseekers and Cities of Sigmar with an allied Questor Soulsworn hero also to give the king a free move on a double :)

    • @Vegiroth191
      @Vegiroth191 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@OffMetaMusings hmm might have to try that out. I have the hunters of Huanchi and just recently got every order of azyr model. Saviors plus hexbane hunters. I took your list you played with the slann and hunters to a tournament and got second. Lost to a soul light crimson court and grave guard list that just kept reviving grave guard horde.

  • @Phalanx167
    @Phalanx167 Před 4 měsíci

    So I've been experiment with Starblood Stalkers allied into Hunters of Huanchi lately because I would like to run them as one of my teams in a Gnarlwood Campaign, and I was wondering what your logic was behind preferring Huachi over Xepic? Personally I don't see Xepic's single Strength 3 ranged attack as being worth paying 90 points over Xepic, even if I wasn't playing a warband with easily accessible Claws of Huanchi. I feel like the 25 points would be better spent on a blessing for someone more useful.

    • @OffMetaMusings
      @OffMetaMusings  Před 4 měsíci

      It depends on what else you are bringing tbh; When I was running them i had a fight for profit dwarf hero aswell which turns Huachi into a 3 shot crit-fisher. If you weren't taking that ofc then Xepic is a fine choice to bring also though in hunters I'd probably just bring Kixi-Taka, Tok and Otapatl as claws are only 10 points more then Xepic and have a whole lot more going for them.

    • @Phalanx167
      @Phalanx167 Před 4 měsíci

      @OffMetaMusings Ah, running with Fight for Profit makes more sense. The core list I am aiming to get once I complete my quest to ally Xepic looks as follows:
      Kixi-Taka
      Alpha with Moonstone Club
      3x Terrawing
      Otapatl
      Tok
      2x Huanchi's Claw
      Hornblower with Moonstone Club
      Chameleon Skink with Club
      Xepic
      I am playing on one box of Hunters with Huach moonlighting as my second Claw. Xepic us kind of just in there to fill a points gap and be a body on points, though it is tempting to dump him for some blessings, like extra Strength on Kixi, or extra wilds given how triple hungry the team is. I know the Terrawings are pretty meh, but for a casual Campaign they seem fun and I like having the super fast fly to mess with people. I might expand the warband at some point to cut them and maybe go even more swarmy, or ally in a beater hero at some point.

    Are there different warbands in the 2 different tome of champions (2019 & 2021)

    • @OffMetaMusings
      @OffMetaMusings  Před 4 měsíci

      Tome of Champions 2021 is the most up-to-date version so if you have that one, it's the book to use. Worth noting that a bunch of those warbands have had updates with various re-releases over the years so I'd still recommend checking out warcrier

  • @niallrichardcurran2466
    @niallrichardcurran2466 Před 4 měsíci

    can you not just transfer over into larger warcry games too? for example.. I have the Black Talons which have warcry data available.. is this unit too small for Warcry? Can I not just play them against a nice cute underworlds team?

    • @OffMetaMusings
      @OffMetaMusings  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The Blacktalons are a full warcry team in terms of size and cost so you can go ahead and play them for full sized games :) Playing them vs an underworlds team might be a bit overkill given that theyll usually be something like 60% of the points cost but you can easily drop one or two fighters to even things out against them specifically.

      @@OffMetaMusings thanks so much for this. I am looking at the different sets and trying to see what could be useful both in potential larger Warcry and AOS, I have stormcast but with so many options. It’s hard to tell where they all place. It is exciting though to get a set that can cover three games!
