The point about Chuckee Cheese was well made. It’s just a character, being true to a character is what acting is about. It’s fake for fun. The show seems to just attempt to create outrage, but it failed to do anything meaningful at all and it just comes across as an uninteresting thing about an uninteresting thing.

I continued seeing Santa long after I stopped believing in him, because I had younger siblings and our parents loved getting photos of all of us with him. My parents would have murdered me if I had told my siblings the truth, (plus that would have been kind of messed up - I genuinely missed the time when I believed in Santa so I wasn't going to spoil it for anyone else) so I went along with it.

It never fails to amuse me to see how american culture internalized Santa Claus into some kind of mythology that affects everyone and everything on holiday season, including politics, while it is supposed to just a bishop who gives presents to children that happens to be mascot for christmas spirit.
In my home region (Silesia in Poland), there isn't even a Santa Claus, only thing connected to that american great red god is Saint Nicolas Day on Dec 6 when some guy dressed as Santa goes to elementary school and gives candies to children and that's it, nobody really cares, that's how hilarious comparison is for me. I also forgot to mention everyome here is gay.

Man, when I was a kid, people were mad that Christmas was about Santa and not about Jesus. Now we've all agreed that Santa is our lord and savior, but we're in a schism about his nature. Are all Santas representations of a single individual with particular characteristics that the local priest is chosen in imitation of? Or is Santahood something that can be bestowed upon anyone? Expect different denominations of Santa worship in 5-10 years.
