Because many people who want to ask questions want to ask lots of questions, enough to take over the entire time of the town hall. To prevent that from happening the show producers ask them to write down their most important question and ask only that one, thus allowing many more questioners to ask THEIR one question. One kid broke that rule and stood asking Rubio multiple questions.
but that's not what happened to that one kid. he had a specific question and it was changed.
Wrong. All the kids were asked to submit 1 question. This kid did and then wanted to deliver a speech, so CNN wrote back telling he¡im he had to stick to his question. The father deliberately omitted the fact that the question he had to stick to was his own.

Because in a movement like this one, they usually like to talk to the leader, and to me, it's pretty obvious that, while others like Cameron Kasky and Emma Gonzalez may have been the ones to start this movement, that David has taken on the role as the leader of the movement. Given that his father is a former FBI agent and that David himself is a journalist (and has even produced documentaries for his high school), he would almost figure to be the one to lead it.
And given that the conspiracy theories have mostly targeted him and that even somewhat mainstream right wing media figures like Ben Shapiro are targeting him, along with the fact that he's helping as much as anyone else is to target certain major corporations that are associated with the NRA, it's obvious that his foes also think he's leading this movement for change. He just has to realize that he has to watch his back for those attacks, but I have a feeling that he'll have plenty of back-up. But activists have to face that if they want to provoke change, whatever the change they want happens to be.
What's more amazing for someone his age is his grasp of past events and the reporters that covered them. He basically lauded Anderson for how he reported on the abuses people faced in the aftermath of Katrina, and he even invoked the name Walter Cronkite, considered even today the benchmark for all reporters, in this interview. That tells me that he knows about the history of journalism. Many people watching this interview may not even know who Walter Cronkite was, which is a sad commentary in it's own right.

What kind of argument is that? Check out The Stranger by Albert Camus, where a man is condemned to death because he shows no emotion over a man he killed in clear self-defence. Very often when people have been through a tragic event, they go numb. And how do we know if they show no emotion privately, at home? What these guys are doing shows great courage and dignity.
