Dangerous Rescue in the High Country Off Road Recovery

  • We are On the Road Again, this time for a very dangerous High Country recovery for an Artic Cat Trail machine. We gathered up the old Stinger for the back of the Jeep and headed to our waypoint. This is country I am very familiar with and spend a ton of time recovering in the back country of the Arizona Strip. You better be on your game, because if something happens, you are on you own and help is hours away! That means the Jeep is stocked with ample supplies tools, food, communications and anything else you may need! We pulled it off without dying and it was just like another day at the office at Casey's Off Road Recovery. 20 plus years of doing this I can admit this one got under my skin.....just a little tiny bit. Good times on the mountain. Thanks for coming along for the ride. Casey

      Sounds like australia.
I can’t remember if I have asked you about using a stiff bar?
Trailer hitch and two angled bars to pick up tow points under the front of most vehicles (over here most people have a pair of heavy recovery points) to give more control of the vehicle being towed.

This was brilliant Casey! What an adventure and a cool take on date night (day 🤔). I've seen other comments and your explanations about the Stinger, so I now know it's a Casey Custom Creation 😀 Very cool and was great for this job. The old homestead was a bonus. The property and surrounding landscape looked like it could have been a set location for Breaking Bad!

Casey, that half paved half dirt road we call the "Apache Road" because it's full of patches. It's also a very spiritual road because it's show holy. Supposedly, the road was built/paved by people working for Howard Hughes in 1950s. Clark County has no record of this road being paved.

Great music for this video as well as walking up to the abandoned house 👍. After watching Poppy all video I'm glad you showed him at the end exhausted. Great views but rough trails for the Cheriokee. Awesome recovery job Casey. When I saw the missing front wheel I wondered how on earth you'd get that thing back down that trail, didn't spot the lift arm until then, guess I wasn't paying enough attention earlier in the video. The whole recovery was beautifully executed. Way more thoughtful than dragging that thing out on it's belly on the end of a rope. Who'd do a thing like that huh ? The abandoned house struck me as really sad, perfect choice of music to accompany that bit Becky, and as always, great editing. Regards from Wales UK.

Wow! This was a hard rescue with the long distance to get to the rescue, the ruggedness, and steepness of the trail and the very difficult towing required for the trail and then add a horrendous hailstorm on the road back. I was worn out just watching it, but Poppy kept urging me on and I made it to the end. Poppy is a "SUPER DOG". Great VIDEO!!! I need to go rest now. I'm really tired! Very cool!! I really enjoy these recoveries; when I was younger, back home in Montana, my friend and I were the backwoods recovery guys. Pre-cell phone days, so they’d call for help on the CB. We had to run off bears, drag broken trucks off logging trails and out of the mud. Dragged a pickup loaded with hay out of a snowy ditch and the highway patrol who stopped to check on him and slipped his cruiser into the ditch. I would have given a body part for a winch back then!! No kinetic rope either: logging chain and cables
Really dig the tow arm!! That’s cool!!! Simple and effective wins every time!!
