  • Since the death of king Zwelonke Sigcawu in 2019, the royal family has been divided on who should succeed him. President Ramaphosa issued a recognition certificate in February 2021 to Prince Ahlangene Sigcawu as the new monarch of the Amaxhosa Kingdom. Nceba Ntlanganiso has more. #eNCA Courtesy #DStv403

Why does the president have a say to our Xhosa royalty. It is totally preposterous for government to intervene with our royal Lineage. From descendant of Ngconde Togu Khawuta.

What is at issue here is the same thing that beset the Zulu royal. In both royals the royal family meetings in which the succesor was nominated were not properly constituted and conducted. It baffles one's mind why the aggrieved Zulu royal members did not challenge the constitution of the meeting in which Misuzulu was nominated.
