I agree as he was the one who left town and didn’t say anything. After they broke up the show just wasn’t the same anymore. I wish they kept him instead of having him do the spin-off show they ended up not being able to afford.
Different boyfriend, different result. He doesn't order her around. He asks for information. She is delighted about that. No anger involved. Has a normalcy to it. The time he held on to the bracelet Dean gave her was a test. He wanted to see how long she would take to realize she didn't have it. Until Dean noticed it was gone. The contrast between Jess being so understanding and Dean being controlling is amazing. But what I hate is how ever since Rory and Jess got together, Dean was always around. He was a beloved character whose presence added drama for the story in addition to making sense to still be there. The character being written off the show would feel contrived. Of course Rory’s going to run into her ex and first bf in their small town where everyone knows everyone.
I know that it could be annoying but jess does have some justification. she cheated on Dean with him several times. Rory was extremely selfish when it came to her relationships especially with Dean/Jess.
yea but she had an affair with dean while he was married and then in the revival she and logan were both cheating on their partners. I loved GG when I was a kid, but her character was extremely flawed and I did not like how the writers consistently normalized cheating on the show.
if you notice when lorelai walks in and jess and rory nice away from each other when the camera is facing them they’re sitting shoulder to shoulder but when the camera is facing lorelai and behind their heads theyre sitting on opposite ends of the couch, it’s not a big deal i just love noticing things like this in shows :)
I do the same thing. Several takes apparently. This is a different scene, but when Richard joins Rory and her classmates for a business school project, they are sitting in a circle. Louise has her legs crossed. Each time she had a line, they are crossed opposite from before. In a matter of seconds. Must have been a long day. They are all good actors, but having 7 speaking parts in the scene is probably more challenging than it looks.
another thing like that is when Lorelai and Sookie are talking about Jackson’s reaction to her pregnancy, and they’re sitting on the swing, but when they’re showing the individual faces you don’t see Lorelai or Sookie’s head near the camera, and they’re just staring into space

And she didn’t care that Tristan was always being an ass to dean. Like when dean went to go see rory and tristans practices for Romeo and Juliet, Tristan just messed with him the entire time. Don’t hate on dean until you actually think about what Jess has done too.
Azeda Todd nah I think Dean was way too overprotective of Rory which could’ve driven her away to Jess, plus they had better chemistry and more in common. Dean threw a hissy fit when Rory was busy with extra curricular and getting into Harvard instead of spending all the time in the world with him which is why I and some others don’t like him.
I think that Dean was a good first boyfriend. Jess is prob my fav other than Logan. Dean ordered Rory around a lot and wanted her to do so many things that she didn’t wanna do. Jess respects her decisions and wants her to be happy. Cause that makes him happy 😆😆
Can't everyone see that Rory already lost feelings for Dean before he started getting possessive. The whole situation shows that Rory didn't like Dean enough and was ready to cheat on him. Dean knew it but held on because he liked Rory too much. If anything I only feel sorry for Dean because even if he was nice to Rory all along she would still have gotten bored of him. He was just acting out his frustration and hurt, and I think he's nice enough. Jess wasn't like that because he knew Rory liked him very much and he understood her more than Dean did.

Jess was much better for Rory than Dean was. Everytime something happened that dean didn’t know about , he would just yell at her. If the same thing happened with Jess , he would simply ask her to tell the truth and not get mad. Rory doesn’t tell Jess thing a lot of the time because she’s scared that he will react the way Dean would’ve. Dean got mad at her for somebody bringing food over for her. In my opinion, he should’ve been happy that Rory was eating and thanked Jess for making sure she got food instead he got mad at her.
I think she doesn’t want Rory to have the life she had to have. Growing up a teen mom is very difficult, strenuous thing. She knows that Rory has a very amazing future ahead of her and she wants her to achieve without having to care for a baby. I think it’s just her mother recognizing a small mistake could change her life completely and it’s not worth it.

When you start a story in the wrong way, it will always look wrong. He bothers about Dean because he knows their story didn't start because her story with Dean ended. So he kept squeezing her. I hate the way they developed that part of the series. You can't cheer for one or the other
Imaging being Dean though and seeing Rory be very very kind and spending alone time with the attractive bad boy Jess. He loved her and he saw her drift away, I don't think he was controlling he was just trying to not lose her. At the end of the day he was not wrong to be suspicious
i really wish rory had better communication so they wouldn’t have trust issues like this all the time. like when jess asks what she did today, she could just say she went to that show and talked a little small talk with dean and it would’ve been fine. she tends to exclude anything that happens with dean and then when jess finds out it’s awkward and they have to half-argue it out

Luke loved Rory like his own daughter. It would've been the greatest ending if she and his nephew had been endgame. The "reboot" ending still keeps me up at night.

I think now that I am rewatching the show it makes sense why Dean would have lost his mind, she obviously had feelings for Jess since the very beginning and in a way abused Deans trust and made him think he was crazy for doubting her, I mean he let her go multiple times but she kept playing around

if you notice when lorelai walks in and jess and rory nice away from each other when the camera is facing them they’re sitting shoulder to shoulder but when the camera is facing lorelai and behind their heads theyre sitting on opposite ends of the couch, it’s not a big deal i just love noticing things like this in shows :)

I do the same thing. Several takes apparently. This is a different scene, but when Richard joins Rory and her classmates for a business school project, they are sitting in a circle. Louise has her legs crossed. Each time she had a line, they are crossed opposite from before. In a matter of seconds. Must have been a long day. They are all good actors, but having 7 speaking parts in the scene is probably more challenging than it looks.

Can't everyone see that Rory already lost feelings for Dean before he started getting possessive. The whole situation shows that Rory didn't like Dean enough and was ready to cheat on him. Dean knew it but held on because he liked Rory too much. If anything I only feel sorry for Dean because even if he was nice to Rory all along she would still have gotten bored of him. He was just acting out his frustration and hurt, and I think he's nice enough. Jess wasn't like that because he knew Rory liked him very much and he understood her more than Dean did.

Jess was much better for Rory than Dean was. Everytime something happened that dean didn’t know about , he would just yell at her. If the same thing happened with Jess , he would simply ask her to tell the truth and not get mad. Rory doesn’t tell Jess thing a lot of the time because she’s scared that he will react the way Dean would’ve. Dean got mad at her for somebody bringing food over for her. In my opinion, he should’ve been happy that Rory was eating and thanked Jess for making sure she got food instead he got mad at her.

I never understood why parents in USA are so OBSESSED about the idea that their children have sex. First, it's none of your buisness. Second, if they are careful, what's the deal?...
I know right... also you hear Lorelei say several times in the series that if it were up to her, Rory would never have sex. And it's not the only series you see parents wishing their children would never have sex (mostly daughters though, you know, bcs they're so pure... 🤮). I mean what kind of mentality is that? Why wouldn't you want your children to experience something as fun and pleasurable and healthy as sex? Of course, teaching them to do it only if they want to, safely and so on but I really don't understand this.
Because accidents happen even with condoms..and girls have to drop out of school if they get pregnant..also here Rory and Jess have just gotten together and are yet to talk about birth control and other things..
