    Mam can you make a video on the same thepla receipe but instead of using brown sugar using JAGGERY. This has very different taste and this is the Orignal Thepla that were made by our grandmothers. Now people are using brown sugar for quick fix but jaggery is more healthier than sugar.     I normally add desiccated coconut or bind the dough with coconut milk and evaporated milk 50/50) that makes them truly East African!

    Ya Ali Mad: looks yummy. I add 4 Beaten eggs, gur, b.powder, milk. Tell me if yrs are soft. Mine becomes crispy. I like soft. Zully

    In the video description you have mentioned baking soda as opposed to baking powder. You need to correct that.

    Jambo! I follow exactly your recipe but 1 cup oil was too much! Can I put more flour in the dough to be able to still make them and fry? I am so upset. Thanks

    You have written baking soda but you used baking powder so which is which

    Why do you say African Thepla.

      Thepla are made in India as well, but this is a different receipe that’s being used in Africa
