He took a deep breath and begin to play, he wanted to play with her again.
He so desperately wanted to have her listen to this, and laugh when he stumbled on the keys but still manage to play like nothing happened. He wanted to have her pick up her violin and play, making all his sorrows melt away, as the two of them played in perfection.
He wanted the fragments of her to be mended together, and laugh at how sad he looked. He felt so alone without her.
In his mind, he was able to hear her begin to play her part, just as perfectly as always. He played but the sorrow still lingered, just like the hole in his heart.

After all their adventures & time together the most lasting thing Kaori left behind wasn't her letter, but their melody together.

This song, tragic as it may be, is not a hopeless one. To me it felt like a old man reminiscing about the first time he ever loved someone. He can sit proud that he did love, even if that love refused to acknowledge him fully. And at the very end you hear the sad last note that tells you that one chapter of his life had ended and a new one begun. It's like someone re reading the story of their life.
Congrats on making what is probably the most heartfelt song I have ever heard in my life

it could be either, taking a breath together helps musicians keep time and coordinate the start of specific parts of the piece. Our entire concert band (over 100 people) all breathe together at the start of a piece, and I've soloed with an accompanist that took breaths at specific points with me

! The FEELS are too strong!! One of the best shows I've ever seen! The music, the characters, and most of all the inspiration I've got from this show really deserves it to be called a MASTERPICE! This soundtrack sounds so beautifull as I can imagine kaori and kousei playing together one last time.........truly makes my heart pound when I hear this! I can't even express the joy and sorrow I am feeling! Truly a 10/10! XD

Just listening to this while remembering the anime... I cried too much. I don't think I can match a story to this... That is why I am practicing to make a story... To show that not everything in this world is full of evil or good. Or that we can't pray for miracles. That we needed to make our own stories and move on from there. I will become who I want to be. And everyone else will too. Now lets just enjoy this. And remember who we really are and what we can do.
