Question! What do you think is the most difficult part of listening to an English speaker?
Not recognising words? An unfamiliar accent? Fast-talking native speakers? Or something else?

Not recognising words
LOVE FROM IRAN TO MY LOVELY TEACHER
unfamiliar accent, it is challenging for me when having conversation with Australian & Kiwi.
Fast talking native speaker
not recognising words
"Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. They're either lonely, they're missing somebody, they're depressed, they're hurt, they're scarred from the past, they're having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn't believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting here reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you don't feel alone anymore. Always remember, don't be depressed about the past, don't worry about the future, and just focus on today. If today's not so great don't worry! Tomorrow's a new chance. If you are reading this, be sure to share this around to make others feel better. Have a nice day!"💞😘💞😘💞😘💞😘
Thank you Emma, I have learnt something new. I think learning to write what you hear is an incredible way to learn fast, and how you explained it is really helpful. Thanks!
Hi Emma! I use your lessons when I study and practice my English, especially my pronunciation. They help me a lot! I tried to listen to Ted Talks. Some of them are really difficult to understand because of so many new words and expressions, linking, reduced forms. But I don't give up and continue listening to different audio on CZcams. As you said, it's definitely is going to be something that pays off in the long term.
Sometimes we fall, sometimes we stumble, but we can't stay down. We can't allow life to beat us down. Everything happens for a reason, and it builds character in us, and it tells us what we are about and how strong we really are when we didn't think we could be that strong.

What a pleasant coincidence it is! I just thought about watching without subtitles earlier today, which is your fifth formula. Kinda frustrated that opportunity is inadequate over here but your videos are boosting me as always, Emma ❤.
Watching without subtitles is much more harder than speaking directly with people from English speaking countries. But your lesson is quite great. Thanks and loves your lessons. Every!

Hi Sachini! Well you know.. so much happening. CZcams and of course Hey Lady!
Dear Emma, as for me I think the main challenge when it comes down to listening is the diagnosis or recognition of the voice. Sometimes I assume something else instead of the real voice or data. Thank you so much for everything you're the best. Sincerely your's Mohammad Reza.
Thank you so much for helpful tips you provide without any cost..👍👍👍
thank you so much Emma-It is important for me and learning
I got amazed by your teaching skills and you techniques are really sounds kinda simple but it's kinda challanging when you do it in reality. You're such a incredible and outstanding teacher. Thanks billion and can't wait for your new lesson. For me, the most difficult part of listening is that I can't understand since they just combine the words with their accents and they all blend in.
It happens to everyone. It can be so tricky, that's why effort and practise is so beneficial.
Hi, Emma! I’ve just started listening audible while reading “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” (yes! One of your recommendations!) since yesterday. I’m glad to tell you that it’s a whole new experience and I’m enjoying it! Thanks, Emma! Your last tip of today’s lesson is new to me, so I’ll try it on the weekend.
Answering your question… to be honest, it is sometimes difficult for me to understand when I listen to children’s talk. I’m not sure why. Maybe the vowels are not clear? Well, in my real life, I don’t have any opportunity to talk to children in person, so I’m not in trouble, but I think this is the area I can improve (but of course I won’t imitate them! Now I only imitate your accent to make strong basics)
Thank you for inspiring me as always. Stay safe and have a lovely week❤️
Sorry, I wanna ask about " the curious incident of the dog in the night time" is it a book?
I'm so happy to hear you're enjoying it, Rie! 🤩
Let me know how you go watching a movie without subtitles for one minute!

You’re welcome Lavanya!
Thank youuu Emma you re amazing🥰❤❤❤
Thank you by this class.
Definitely having hard time with the accents, in February this year I began working in a team with an Indian accent team members and it took me at least a couple of weeks to get used to it, but now it's super easy hehe so you're right you need to put yourself out there to some uncomfortable situations to improve yourself hehe
Something that I really fear is not understanding what others are saying because ( the same things you mentioned), they speak too fast, use words that are out of my vocabulary or they don't speak clearly.
Hi Emma, how's it going?
Thanks for sharing these great five tips with us, they are very useful IF WE APPLY THEM.

Hello Emma, I am preparing for PTE exam for Australian immigration process so lately I am searching on the internet to improve my speaking, writing, reading and listening skills to pass my exam with great numbers. In addition, so today I just saw your video and I realised that what a right time to view this video because it will help me a lot to improve my listening skills from general point of view and also which I can apply the same techniques for my listening part of the exam. BTW 'Write what you hear' technique is the best of all. You are the real saviour of my life. One request can you please make a video in the same way for speaking, writing, and reading skills also. Oh I forgot to say as in the video you mentioned about really good Ted Talks link but I can't find it in the description so can you please paste the same links in the reply.
Thank you so much Teacher mmm I really love your videos and I like listening to audio books for improving my Skills language
Thank you so much for this lesson our beautiful teacher.love from Sudan ❤❤
Thank you for the five listening skill improving tips. What I found effective, and I practice it for some time, is to write what you hear technique. To do this my aid is the "One-minute World News" on the BBC News homepage. There one can listen to three or four short recent news in one minute, each is two or three sentences.
I choose one of the news, listen to it, rewind and listen to it again, reduce the speed if needed, and write down what I've understood. If there were words I couldn't get, I try to deduce them from the context. There is no subtitle option.
I recommend it to everyone!
Fabulous tips, Gabor! Thank you for sharing 👌
You are the best of the best!
You are one of my favourite teacher on CZcams 🥰 thanks for the best tips 👌❤❤❤
These tips will be so helpful for me in this period, I actually started to speak English, with someone with the same level as mine. So, my journey only just began, amazing content Emma! Greetings from Romania!
Good luck! I hope your journey is amazing :)
I think this video is very engaging!
That can help second language speakers to understand and practice English.
Hey Emma, i 100% agree with all those top 3 reasons for not getting what others are speaking to you. Also, i already use some of the tips u have mentioned today like watching without subtitles, reading, and listening at the same time. But, the TED TALKS tip was the new one for me.
Anyways, Thanks for the video.
