For this challenge we will take turns spinning a wheel 2 times to determine a random generation and Pokemon Typing. Once the spins are decided the other player will have to choose a pokemon that meets the generation and type requirement within 3 seconds to lock in a pokemon! The pokemon must also not be legendary or mythical and must be obtainable in Pokemon Sword/Shield.

Fletchling is a Normal/Flying Type. It doesn't get the Fire Typing until it evolves into Fletchinder.

You guys may have forgotten, but Gardevoir is from the 3rd generation, though it didn't get the fairy type until gen 6
Mawile too! I know Mawile isn't great but it'd be better coverage than duping on grass.
They count it as the generation it came out. No counting type changes in later gens.

Actually it kinda does to an extent. Until Generation 6, there were no Fairy typed Pokémon and there were Pokémon that were given the typing starting in X and Y. On one hand, they could count the addition of the typing to existing Pokémon introduced before Generation 6. On the other hand, they were right with the fact that there were no existing Fairy typed Pokémon within the Generation 3 and 4 games themselves. The same could be said true for Steel and Dark in the Generation 1 games with the former being given to Magnemite, a Kantonian Pokémon, in Generation 2 whereas the latter wasn't given to a Kantonian Pokémon by any means until Generation 7 when Alolan forms were introduced. Well there's Mega Gyarados in Generation 6 but since the whole Mega Evolution thing retconned after ORAS, it doesn't count.

I like the occasional use of natural instead of randomized pokemon. I think there are also fun things you could do with items, like only allowing berries, only allowing choice items, or only allowing detrimental items.
They have a hard enough time playing it normally and that is why we watch

this is one of the more fun challenges I've seen you guys do in a while. it's always more interesting when you have to interact with each other at the picking your team of pokemon stage.
This is by far my favorite versus challenge idea
having actual movesets and set and such is such a great thing to see for a change. why not just pick a choosen team and go absolutely HAM.
yeah it's a good challenge for them to be more strategic. nice change of pace, but random is too funny

Nonlegendary Gen 6 fire types in SwSh are literally just Fletchinder and Talonflame.
"gen 6 baby fire type" gives a pokemon that's not fire
"gen 3 fairy type doesn't exist" sad gardevoir and mawile noises. Chilln could have gotten a GARDEVOIR (and if he wasn't dumb, a garchomp as well)
"gen 4 fairy type doesn't exist" sad togekiss noises
anyways, Chilln REALLY doesn't do well under pressure, does he? XD
Even tho the fairy type didn’t exist until Gen 6 there are still 2 fully-evolved mons that were retroactively given the fairy types in Gen 3 (Gardevoir & Mawile) & 1 in Gen 4 (Togekiss) so I feel like it should’ve counted.

Idea.. pick a color find pokemon with that color then the secondary color on that pokemon is the next color for your next pokemon. And so on.

This is a really fun challenge! I wish you had included things that have had type changes though, like things that were changed to fairy type. Mawile for Gen 3 or Togekiss for Gen 4 could've been good.

Great challenge idea, would love to see more like it! Also I think it's great to do normal moves/abilities sometimes. Random is fun (except I could never get into the custom forms) but I think mixing in the regular stuff too keeps things fresh.
