Fix internet connection problem
If you see an exclamation mark on your WiFi signal then let us see what it means and how can you try to fix the issue. It means that WiFi connection is established in your device but for some reason you can not access the internet.
There might be some reasons for that: either the password for your WiFi connections is changed, problem with your ISP, wrong IP address put manually or you might not have paid your internet bill.
If you know that you have paid the bill of your Internet connection then let us see some ways to try to fix the issue.
The first easiest thing that you can do is to switch off the router, wait for few seconds and then switch on the router.
When you restart your router then the router will reset and reassign IP address to your devices because of which you device might be able to connect to the router again.
The other thing what we will do is we will go to “Settings”.
We will go to “Connections”.
Tap on your WiFi name.
Again tap on WiFi.
Go to Advanced.
If you had selected “Static” IP settings, select “DHCP” so that the device can automatically get the IP address and DNS server automatically from the router.
Select “Save”.
If this does not fix the issue then you need to call your ISP to make sure that they don’t have the problem.
If none of these fix the issue then might be your router if faulty and you need to change it.

My problem is the exclamation point pops up periodically. It'll be fine for minutes, even hours then stops working. Reset, then works again and stops after a few hours. I have called my isp and they said it was because I had 2 bandwidth 2.4 and 5. They have combined it to 1 but it still has this issue

Thank you for this useful video. I have a question. There are two arrows to the right side of the wifi icon. I noticed that on my Samsung Galaxy they either flash like yours or stay permanently on (when my internet is working.) Why do they sometimes flash and other times be on without flashing? Does the flashing mean that the connection to the internet is not good?
Flashing means it's in use as in "you are streaming content or using any app that is using the internet.

You could be blocked , it shows a exclamation next to wifi symbol. My Internet went from wonderful to terrible in a matter of days so trying to figure out what was happening I logged out into my TMobile account and I found over 15 devices that had access to my Internet only 7 of them ours. I disabled them all and that's when our devices showed connected with the exclamation mark but as soon as I re-enabled the devices I knew were ours it went away and back to wonderful. The next day my neighbors kids came over asking if our internet was out? Turns out my son gave the kids our password and then the kids gave it to their mommy and daddy.

For me, it was the time and date which were wrong. I activated "automatic date and time" and it got fixed immediately.

Hey man, thanks for the video. Wondering what does it mean if the exclamation mark comes on only sometimes. Like say in a day from 9am to 9pm, it will drop out 10 - 15 times showing the exclamation mark but then after awhile it will work. Any reason?

I bought this phone a year ago , the problem is everytime I play any kind of online game it keeps showing this mark on the wifi and disconnects by itself , every other phone at my house works perfectly, this problem happens to me only , I tried everything I can do I reseted my phone's data I tried every single thing but still not working , but if I go near to the internet source it works a little bit better but still disconnects , like if I play in my room it disconnects, but if I play with my brother's phone in my room it doesn't disconnect it only happenes to me , please help me I really need your help

I have question mark next to wifi symbol.
I had this issue/symbol, and noticed with the phone in question I could no longer cast from CZcams (on the android phone) to my TV. Turned off phone. Took power out of router. Left for 20s. Turned on router. Turned on phone. All ok!

For your modem unplug everything even the white coax cable leave them unplugged for about 10 minutes then power them back on now go back to your phone click on connections and go to your wifi click on it then click advanced and switch it from dhcp to static then apply those settings and then switch it back to dhcp this should fix it

This happens to me when using my public library's WiFi. A screen is supposed to pop up where I agree to Terms & Conditions, but this screen never pops up! So the exclamation point continues. I have 2 devices, it connects with one but not the other, so the problem isn't with the router.
