I just saw these guys a few days ago. Without a doubt one of the tightest, most professional, rockingest bands I've ever seen, and my time goes all the way back to AC/DC with Bon Scott.
The rhythm guitar on the other hand is really low in the mix in this video. You just hear the lead guitar in the hook and the fuzz tone of the guitars overall sounds not that great. I guess it's because this performance is from the time they released "California Crossing" which is prominent for being the record where their heavy fuzz sound is absent from the guitars. I don't like that record because Fu Manchu is for me the heavy fuzz sound of the guitars. That record could be part of a cheesy teenager party movie like American pie like Blink 182 etc. "California Crossing" got a clean radio friendly Hardrock sound. No dirty Stoner Rock. If you take "In Search Of..." and compare it to "California Crossing" you know what I mean...
@@djGeoff44 I know! it's very rare to listen to a decent bass tone on a live event recording. Most of the time it sounds clunky and raw. Really good bass sound, even better than the actual recording
i have not heard of them 4 years...they were the good-stuff aprox..20 years ago..they used 2 open up 4 motorhead...seen them more than 1 time...the fastest music ive experienced...listen 2 lost in china town..i dare you!!!
@@scottbarker9058 Lucky you for seeing them, and Motorhead, live! I wish I could but I'm from southeast Asia lol. Till the Living End is killer, but they're now faster than that tho, with Hellbender. Heck, they're always faster than their recordings when playing live. PS. if you have some time, I do have some Zeke bass covers on my channel.
Stupidly underrated band
listening to this from a small town in Eastern India. Love the Internet.
