Neil Young, Cowgirl in the Sand, live at the ROXY 9/20/2023
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 20. 09. 2023
- Neil Young at the ROXY, where he played when Lou Adler and Elmer Valentine, with help from original partners, David Geffen, Elliot Roberts and Peter Asher, opened the club exactly 50 years before this performance.
Billy Talbot on bass, Ralph Molina on drums, Nils Lofgren on guitar and keys, joined by Micah Nelson (Willie's son) on guitar. It's close to the 1973 lineup; only Ben Keith is missing. They called themselves the Santa Monica Flyers in 1973.
Love the high heeled platform boot hanging down from the piano on the left.
I have no ownership interest in this video. I'm sharing because I was very fortunate to be there, and to be in a spot where I had a great view. The Roxy has a capacity of 500, and there are zillions of Neil Young fans out there!
If you have a legal objection, please let me know, and I'll take it down. if you object because you don't like Neil Young, what is wrong with you??? đč
I just love this. These concerts, which I frequently view on CZcams, are stunning.
Thank you, being old and feeling old are not always entangled â
Still rockinâ in the free world.
You were lucky to be there. I would have been so stoked that I wouldn't have thought about filming, but you did and many are grateful. Thank you.
My favorite Neil Young song âŠ
everybody knows this is nowhere was well worn at my house.
The best!!
†Neil Young l love you
Great to have this on You Tube very little on television ( only rubbish angry drama's), Neil young is still rocking good đđ€
He's still rockin' in the free world! Let's give him a heart of gold đ instead of a boring gold đ star.
How can you not love Neil, so glad hes Canadian
So so good also his voice is at its best. Thank Youđđđ
Just fâing great. Full stop.
Neil helped me get over my fear of dancing in public.
Lol, gotta look better!
I think alcohol solved that problem for me. Fortunately, when I quit drinking 28 years ago, I could still dance in public. đ
Neil caused me to fear venturing into public.

@@RockandRollWoman Likewise....!
Its good to see you life
great view! ty
You're welcome. I feel so incredibly lucky to have gotten a ticket, 5 hours before the show. Then finding a place where people weren't standing in front of me - another stroke of luck. I wanted to share Neil in all his Neil-ness. đ
Bring it on. What authenticity, feel, groove, and commitment these guys have.-You can't teach that at Berklee.
Nor can you get this by combining digital files. When everyone is in the same room, there's an X factor. You get mistakes that make it more perfect, more human, more perfectly human.

neil found that otherworldly groove with crazy horse ages ago and its been a relentless pursuit ever since, long may he run
That is a fantastic album, my favorite Neil Young album.
The one and only Neil with "The horse".
Old but good
Thank you so much for sharing, this made my Sunday. So jealous of you that you were there!
†sound's great
Well done!
Thanks. Still can barely believe I was there!
PURE MF LEGEND â€
Those LUCKY people!!!!
Thanks for sharing this. Cheers! âïž
awesome - thanks so much for this ;-)
Please Crazy Horse. Play more for us. âPlease Donât be sad You are the one who can make us all laugh
But doing that you break out in tears
Please don't be sad if it was a straight mind you had
We wouldn't have known you all these years
But please, Crazy Horse, don't play in Traffic! đ
That's what she said. I was trying to figure out what that comment was cuz I knew it wasn't Neil. Thx, ur knowledge is greatly appreciated. Traffic! Can u dig? I knew that u could.đ€đđ«Ą. Ain't that rite my "Dear Mr. Fantasy"!
AtrĂłz y brutal.
Outstanding
Awesome
Wonderful! Amazing! Neil at 77 (+ others) doing their thing.
Hats off. It really is some feat.
It ain't with Danny on second guitar though, is it? Somehow nobody can quite immitate Danny in that version of Crazy Horse. So it hasn't quite got that magic spark it had back in ... was it '70?
It's Micah Nelson, Willie's son.
Its easy but feeling and history. đ
Where is Nils?
Playing keyboard
@@artemisXsidecrossthat âkeyboardâ has a giant grand painted piano attached to it! Lol
@iused2BAfireman And the piano has a high heeled platform boot hanging from it. Visible when I'm filming Neil - I was off to the side, but that was much better than having people standing in front of me.
@@RockandRollWoman that boot also has Elton John's signature on it. At the 73 shows there were 6 (est.) of those boots, according a photo shared with me by a member of the crew. They used the photo to try and mimic the original stage setup.
@@iused2BAfireman Fantastic! Thanks for the back story on that boot. I spent a lot of time looking around it. đ
Willie Nelson's son on guitar ??
The older Neil gets, the more he looks like Stephen...
Neil looks like a trapper from the north country ,lol
