This is just superb, been searching for "how to teach children to read music notes" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Foonlant Dumbstruck Formula - (should be on google have a look ) ? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for discovering how to teach your child to read music notes minus the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my co-worker got amazing success with it.

This is a great starter for anyone that doesn’t read music and is done in a very easy to understand way too .... I learned how to read music a very traditional way when I started playing the clarinet over 40 years ago and I found it really rough at the start ..... I just wish I had this type of advice and lesson to help me back then ..... it was Thurston’s Clarinet method that was my starter and intermediate tutor and I still have it today .... covered in pencil marks of course !!!

One thing I self discovered is that when it comes to counting out the notes with "! e and a," ect... there is a time difference in how long it takes to say "e" and "and." How ever long it takes to say wither phrase is exactly know long you should play the note. I used to take private lessons from Mindi Abair before she became famous and there was something about how she taught that made everything make sense when she re-taught me the "1 e and a's" from my high school days.

I'm a wedding DJ, I'm luck enough to be able to listen to stuff and play the tune after a little on the piano (one handed only though)
It meant I could have fun jamming to my fave tunes.
I am increasingly booking a DJ and sax package, and the players I work with are from £250 ph I'm picking up a saxophone on Wednesday and I'm just so eager to learn to read sheet music as I've never found someone to explain it in a way that I just get.
I'm pinning the whole beginner session on so when I get home Wednesday evening I can get up and running right away!
