Thank you for talking about Steven's empathy. It's such a big part of Steven Universe, and it's never talked about. Steven is a wonderful healer and protector, that's what all his powers are based around. We've seen time and time again that he's amazing with other people and gems, and really understands and loves them. I totally think he's going to heal all the corrupted gems. Heck, I think he's going to be the force that turns home world and the crystal gems into allies.

I agree with you. Steven has shown to have more powers than the other gems, and I think he is going to develope more. If he learns to control his powers he could become powerfull. Most of his powers develope when he was trying to protect or help others.
I don't think Steven can astral project into his enemies' minds yet. The minds Steven has infiltrated so far have been very weak or unstable. Hopefully he'll get better control over his power as the show progresses. It'll be interesting to see him heal the corrupted gems I've actually been anticipating a centipedle appearance since monster buddies so I'm excited.
Hmmm, makes you wonder what would happen if he astral projects himself into the mind of one of the Diamonds.
I'd be willing to bet the series may go there as some point.
But I would like to see Centapedle get fixed. She seems like a Jade to me. Or a Prehnite perhaps.

My biggest question is, is Steven only able to use astral projection with other gems and gem ... Produced (as in the Watermelon. Stevens) sentient beings? Because this is going to make for interesting issues when Connie becomes a major player (and explains how they could sync so quick when fighting). Like Garnet, could Stevonnie have a variation of astral projection (telepathy, esp, or project emotions)? Or any access to his powers at all? Man, so much to explore! I love these writers!
I would assume they would in some sense but it would have to have a major change like how sapphire can only see the most likely version while garnet can see all version i would assume stevonnie would be able to stay conscious because there are two minds controlling they so one(Steven most likely)would leave to leave the other in charge(most likely Connie because of her sword skills)
Like +Dom Ger said how Sapphire's Future Vision expands when she fuses with Ruby, I think Stevonnie might have more like telepathy. I would say that women are generally more emotional, but Steven is too.

I always wondered why Rose couldn't heal the corrupted gems. Mental damage makes so much more sense than physical
Oh man I never thought about his ability to empathize with others as a power like his astral projection! Nor did I think that upcoming episode Monster Reunion had something to do with Centipeedle. See, this is why I'm subscribed to you. I never think of these things and you really help broaden my mind to new ideas.
I have an idea for a future episode concerning this ability!
Steven merrily minding his own business one uneventful day, started to daydream and eventually ends up using Astral Projection and becomes adrift within his own mind for a while... Eventually, after what seemed like hours to Steven, finds deep within the abyss of his mind, Rose Quartz's consciousness (within an appropriate, Rose garden setting). They end up simply having a heartwarming chat about all the things he'd logically ask (Ora Ora Ora-ing you in the feels). Then towards the end, Rose reveals a "super important to the current plot" secret, they say their goodbyes and then Steven awakens to inform the others of the other Gems of »plot relevance here«.
On that list on the last video, I would like to see "The Origin of the Gems" next! I'm interested in what you have to say about that! Other than that, good video
I think your on to something, we'll need to wait for future episodes to be sure of this, but it does make a lot of sense.

So are we all coming to the same conclusion? That the bright flash seen near the end of Lapis's flashback caused the corruption of all the gems except Garnet, Rose, and Pearl, (Amythest had not emerged yet and could therefore not be affected by the flash)? And if that's true can we also conclude that is was some sort of massive EMP device adjusted for gems that affects and entire planet, an EMP/magnetic interference can corrupt computer data or programs. And if the Gems are most like quartz computers then it may be possible that there is a device that could affect the data stored on the gem, which could corrupt it like we've been constantly seeing. And if Lapis was unaffected by the pulse because she was in her gem form and affixed to the mirror then is it possible that the lighthouse gem, the pillow gem, and the inverted pyramid gem could be not corrupted and have not been given the opportunity to form on their own accord?
It's been confirmed the the desert glass gem's body is the pillow. It is a corrupt gem.
I seems very unlikely that they would waste an incubation of an entire gem just to make a pillow. Even if it is corrupted all other corrupted gems we've seen so far have moving bodies, and I know the pillow's ability over sand may be it's body but we hardly see the manifestation of a body by a gem through another medium, so I see it being very unlikely. Plus you have to consider that other gems trapped in object manifested themselves through either the structure or similar object, like the temple gem, the lighthouse gem, and the book gem, which manipulated other books to for a false body since it couldn't for on it's own.

It's more likely that the Geode is what powers the warps on earth. We saw that the geode had some sort of storm raging inside of it. And we also get to see what's outside the warp stream, which appears to be a storm. It may be one of those the inside is bigger than the outside kind of deals. While it would be nice it's more likely that the mysterious ball we say in "it could have been great" was what cause that massive flash.
I also paused and noticed that the explosion was Blue, White, and Yellow. Sound familiar? ;)
I've been thinking about this stuff since Chille Tid, like how Steven can visit other gems' astral selves (or maybe their souls even?) and communicate with him, and about how he might be able to use it to communicate with the corrupted gems to heal them. You pretty much astral projected into my head space and empathized my feelings.
Here's the bigger question - did Steven inherit these abilities from Rose Quartz, or are they completely unique to him?

Of course after "Hit The Diamond" turned out to be about base ball for all we know "Monster reunion" could be anything, uniting the heaven/earth beetles, meeting the cluster again, the return of Marty, what was in the warp outer field, the town meeting Alexandrite again, Jasper reuniting with the watermelons, maybe two monster bubbles pop and they fuse, ....Frybo? Sugars totally messing with us though, probably just a card game.
out of all your theories, i think this one is the most accurate of all.
All the pieces for a war with Homeworld are starting to take place. Steven has been collecting a lot of gem friends lately, and with Steven empathizing/bubbling the cluster, possibly making it his friend like he did with Centipeetle, I'd say that evens the odds a little bit.
I have a theory
what if the Cluster is how the home world make a new diamond
since right now they are down one and what ever it forms into is big as hell
so what if the reason why home world wish to keep combine fusion hidden is that how they make other dimions when needed

I agree with this entirely, but I also have a theory that while Steven could do this more effectively, his mother could not. Maybe (If we follow the mildly popular theory of Rose's alternative motives) she wanted to create Steven for more than just being able to have a child, but to also have a gem more capable of bringing corrupted gems back into their original state of mind, and maybe return more gems that fought against home-world?
As an empath myself, I really like the way it's portrayed in Steven Universe. I'm unskilled in how to use my empathy, like Steven, and often when I'm in a crowd especially in an emotionally charged situation the emotions can overwhelm me. It's like an incredibly loud noise. I've heard that more experienced empaths can use their own emotions to heal others, and block out negative emotions from other people.
what is the ability likely improvised isn't just some handy down ability passed on the Roses gym but an ability that Steven has only because he's half-human this ability is present throughout the entire series whether we know it or not and unlike his other abilities where he has to learn and really work towards unlocking this is something that comes as naturally to Steven as breathing or walking he also has the most understanding over this ability and I think this is really the reason why Rose decided to abandon her physical form to make Steven in the first place

there is a theory that stems from Same Old World about that flash int he sky when the the homeworld gems flee the earth and that cuasing the gems to be corrupted. Seeing as how Greg said Rose was only able to save her closest friends with her bubble/shield similar to what Steven did in Jailbreak with the crashing ship. So yeah guess its not in an upcoming episode tho scratch that part. Now that I think about it I may have herd it from you or someone else I don't remember right now without looking

+luciewhale I find that it was likely that the corrupted gems might have gotten corrupted from a type of nuclear bomb left by homeworld that was meant to kill all gems remaining on Earth but it ended up corrupting them instead. That will still have them be battle damaged. Like being damaged by the nuclear bomb kind off. (that's how I find it might have went.

Oh, good point. I hadn't noticed that Steven was Dianna Troi as one of his abilities, but now that you mention it that's pretty obvious.
We also know that Rose didn't have the astral projection ability - That Steven can astral project seemed to be as much of a surprise to Pearl and Garnet as it was to Steven (Unless it was an ability she kept hidden from the other Gems? But why would she have done that?)
+Gizensha Fox it's canon that rose hid things from all the gems, even pearl, so it's not hard to believe she kept astral projection powers a secret. otherwise they would have said something about it the first time we saw him use it, as they do every time steven demonstrates a power similar to rose.
that said, i do like the thought of steven having some powers that rose didn't. she might be part of him, but he's his own person, and could develop other powers independent of what rose had in the future

Here's my take on it. In the episode where Steven tries to heal Centipedele it shows obvious signs of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD, when talking about the earth evacuation she freezes, throws up, and starts to have a panic attack. This could be linked to mental illness and could lead to gem corruption.

It makes sense that Steven would be able to cure the corrupted gems and since most if not all of them were crystal gems as AJ said in his Same Old World review it means that once Steven fully figures out how to use his powers . Not only will the gems be cured but they'll be back up to more or less full strength. Back to the numbers that made home world retreat. Which would be really cool.
I think corruption was a "weapon" against the rebellion, which lead quote on quote, too Rose Quartz only being able too save several of her closest friends, while the rest were unsaved and became corrupted, which is why she wanted too heal them so badly, afterall if they were Homeworld Gems, she probably wouldnt want them revived.
The thing is that since Steven actually has a sort of physical backup system, aka his human DNA and his physical body, he can in theory "fix" other gem's mental code way more easily since he would in theory never be affected by gem based viruses that may cause curaption

I'm sure that the mural with the diamonds found in the triangular temple has been discussed many times before, but when I was looking at it I noticed something. The little circles that the diamonds are seen with... Do you think they could be planets? Or planets that that diamond has colonized or taken over? (Some might be moons for the planets. I'm not sure) Blue diamond has 8 planets(or some planets with moons), Yellow diamond has 14(not including the 8 circles that are near her hands along with the stars which might stand for something), and white diamond has the most with 34(some of which probably are moons), and pink we don't know if she has any or if she has more than white diamon

I've had this same idea in my head pretty much ever since I figured out that the Gem monsters were corrupted Gems. It's just a matter of remembering that a Gem's gemstone is basically a super-high-tech computer; the "corruption" they have is like a computer virus. Although, I'm willing to wager that Steven might need some assistance mentally linking with some Gems he doesn't know as well as Centipeedle.
i have noticed that i mangas and such a lot of people dodnt have epmathy witch make the hero of the series a hero becase he is empathizes with the people around them and touch the hearts of the ones that count. i think rebecca is doing this too. making everyone in a way self-centered so that steven can be unique because he empathizes with the people around him and thats why everyone loves him because he can care about his enemies like he care about his friends. (i think i just quoted something from enders game)

you know its funny how literal Garnet was in Monster Buddies (i think it was) when she tells Steven that Rose felt true empathy towards everyone around her, she literally felt their pain
In Guide to the Crystal Gems, corrupted Gems are referred to as "battle-damaged Gems". This does not entirely disprove the idea of it being emotional damage, but it does make it less likely, considering that "battle-damaged" usually means physically damaged. It's also possible this information is incorrect, as it is Steven that is saying this, not one of the Gems.
I think monster reunion might be lion coming back home as he has been absent for a while, but I certainly hope it's about centipeedle
Based off information in some leaks, I can conclude that bismuth will be revealed before or slightly after centipeedle is freed. Someone said that bismuth will hurt centipeedle and be sent to homeworld, for centipeedle to be hurt bismuth has to be there. You could probably use deduction to determine the order of certain episodes.
It was also stated that yellow diamond was poofed and the gems went to homeworld, which probably has a title with relation.
I think it only makes sense that Steven will end up healing the corrupted gems or at least helping them come to terms with their existence at some point. After all, the centipeetle was the first "enemy" featured, in the very first episode. Generally, if something is going to happen in the first episode it sets the theme of the story to come. I can't wait to see how it turns out!
We now know he can use it on humans too! This is awesome. Steven is so strong and he doesn't even know it fully
I don't know if you've done a fusion video but I think you should. Like how does it work? In the answer sapphire says "I didn't know you disappear like that" but then when Steven and Connie fuse they trip over themselves
I'm pretty certain that if Steven directly inherited the psychic empathy from Rose, Rose would probably have acted slightly differently around Greg.
Or, perhaps she was so jaded to the concept of a human friend that she willingly deactivated those powers or just flat out didn't use them around humans. She could have felt like empathy towards humans wasn't worth the effort, since she already felt like she understood them and cared for them.
There's something here, probably. The connection between the Psychic Empathy, Steven and Rose is really interesting to think about.
the cluster is made of shattered crystal gem or gem shards, and the reason is that garnet said that she could not find all of them them in the episode keep it together.

Maybe this was what made Rose Quartz rebel, feeling the emotions of the humans under siege probably brought the idea to the rebellion in her mind.
the cluster and communication with the cluster reminds me a lot of the plot of full metal alchemist

Actualy, Steven's astral projection may very well allow him to heal the corrupt gems bubbled in the temple. Let me explain. I think that the corrupt gems aren't phisicaly harmed, but mentally insane and Steven's ability to literary feel the pain of others may allow him to bring the gems back from insanity and rebuild the Crystal Gem army in time to meet Yellow Diamond in battle as she lands of earth with red army and defeat Home World once and for all.

I think this level of empathy is something Rose lacked. This empathy is a combination of the love and awesomeness of Rose and Greg, but obviously Greg is the secret ingredient. Which goes with your recent theory about Greg being a big part of the healing process for corrupt gems.

I just realized something big.
When we got a better look at the Cluster... We saw that there are not only shards of fallen Crystal Gems in the Cluster... But also shards of fallen Homeworld Gems in there as well....
Don't believe me? Look back to "Same Old World"... In Lapis' flashback, the main Homeworld Gems fighting against the Crystal Gems were Jaspers. Now if you take a closer look at The Cluster, you can also see fallen Jasper Gems forced into The Cluster as well....
Where am I going with this? Well, basically Homeworld is the one who doesn't care about other Gems. They put their own fallen Gems into the Cluster as punishment for failing the war battles... It's as messed up as it sounds, I know... :( It's the only thing that I see becoming a problem if The Cluster was popped and worked as a Hive-mind... not all the gems in there were Crystal Gems, which means not all of the Fallen Gems in The Cluster are going to care about The Earth... Which leaves me with alot less hope that The Cluster will ever be truly healed/unfused, nor serve any higher purpose in the show rather than pose as a threat.
lots of people have said that rose couldn't/ had a hard time empathizing with others ( like with greg in we need to talk, or how maybe she didn't realize pearl's true feelings)..maybe this was to contrast with steven's hyper-empathy..idk
The corrupted Gems are all traumatized from the War. I'm guessing among all those bubbled Gems in the temple there's gonna be a few from the enemy side that never even corrupted. It will be fun if they're ever all released.

You should do a theory on how the homeworld gems travel. When we see the rubies leave, there is this black dot above the ship. I think they travel by wormholes.

I think it would be a cool little thing for you to point out. because I know Peridots actually do change colors but she is the only gem in the show who seems to do it based on mood. Steven has so far only projected into the mind of other Gems, but this _isn't_ an ability we've heard about Rose having, so I wonder if somehow the separation between his human and gem halves is what gives him this ability.
I think there's a lot of sense in the idea that the corrupted Gems are mentally damaged, after all none of their gemstones show signs of damage, and the idea that Steven might be able to heal corrupted Gems by going inside their minds is a very interesting idea... we shall have to wait and see.

Theory: my Theory is That lion is the other part of rose quatz being that if they fused you would get Rose, we know that steven is half of Rose meaning that anouther half is out there somewhere but isn't it funny how lion is pink, has a secret place with roses stuff on it and yeah. finally i thought i was the only person who was freaking out about this
i feel like monster reunion is going to be about yellow diamond or some kind of threat coming to earth, and steven resurrects the corrupted gems to make an army. some of them will be homeworld gems and they will start to fight the crystal gems when they reform, and some will be crystal gems and they ill help the crystal gems, that's my theory.
So Rose can make a bubble barrier, control her descent, crying healing tears, giving plants intelligence, and all the other basic gem powers. However I think that Stevens mindscape and feeling how other gems feel is totally his power and this something that is unique to Steven not Roes. for example the other gems react differently to his other powers then the powers that are connected to Rose.
I feel like the corrupted gems in a way have ptsd from war, think about it, missing limbs, mutilated bodies, attacking innocent people

If you pay attention to Garnet's Viser, you can tell who's dominantly speaking. The glare on the viser will be mostly pink for Ruby or light blue for Sapphire.

I feel like Rose had the ability to project to her plants, and since Steven is half human, his brain and powers work differently, so while he may be using his base Quartz ability on the plants, I do believe the Astral projection is a much more powerful form of the connection Rose learned to use

I feel like the bright flash that we saw in Lapis' flashback is what caused the gems on earth to become corrupted. Rose's shield only allowed her to protect a group of her friends from the blast. Idk I'm probably wrong tho
also in theory with the ability to astral project he might be able to phisically take over a gem like jasper an d lapis in malcite
This video got me thinking briefly on the topic of corrupted gems and how they're "damaged" and can't return to their regular forms.
Could it be possible that the corrupted gems that are on Earth are the remnants of Rose Quartz's army? I remember it being mentioned in an early episode that the reason Pearl, Amethyst, and Garnet are the only crystal gems left is because during the war (Or possibly in the event that ended it) home world launched some large attack and these aforementioned three were the only ones Rose could save by covering them with her shield., leaving the rest of her army vulnerable.
Is it possible that this attack scrambled the data in the rebel gems and this event is what turned them into their corrupted forms? This would give a very plausible reasoning to the bubbling and safe keeping of the corrupted gems. Rose would have felt guilty for not being able to save the people who believed in her cause and set about ensuring their safety until a time came where she could find a cure for them.
It's just a thought, but one that I think is worth considering.

No, it's literal brain damage. Corrupted Gems are also known as battle-damaged Gems. And Garnet and Pearl both have degrees of PTSD without being corrupted.

if the astral projection method of healing a corrupted gem comes to be a real thing, and the corrupted gems came to be corrupted due to mental damage....this could be a very strong message concerning the mentally ill and how to help mentally ill people in real life.
think about it: mentally ill people (such as myself) are damaged not physically, but mentally, and it can turn people into unrecognizable monsters (depending on what they have, i suppose). sounds like a corrupted gem, right? anyway-how do you help mentally ill people? by empathizing with them, getting to understand how their mind works, and helping them learn to cope with their illness. then over time, they learn, they grow, and they heal!
steven being able to get into the mind of a gem who cannot function normally, find a way to communicate, learn and then help them heal themselves over time sounds like a very heartwarming and amazingly powerful thing. i sure hope it comes to pass
