Sweet Annie must smell beautiful. I have grown artemsia/wormword but of a different variety it seems. Not to be confused with yours. It also had the lacy foilage, woody stems and grew around 4ft high. Mine was labeled an insecticidal plant. I looked up sweet annie and medicinally can be used as a tea but perhaps not long term or sparingly if one has liver problems or on meds that affect the liver. I've studied TCM and herbs since the 80's, every thing in moderation although your thought on a hedge with sweet annie sounds great!

Sweet Annie grows well here in Maine. I see booths of growers here at the Common Ground Fair every year and the smell is intoxicating for sure. I have never grown it but might try this year. I am going to guess maybe 138 sounds like a good estimate but what do I know. Take care my friend.

It did fantastic matures quickly and the flowers formed pod full of the little black seeds. I brewed a tea with them great herb! Lowered blood pressure and inflammation! I love Vivaldi's The Four Seasons! So beautiful! I KNOW I have a seed problem! I try to restrain myself from buying more seeds, and then...oh, just one or two more won't hurt!😂 I know what you mean about having too many seedlings! I have a big window seat on the south side of my house where I start them all. I don't have lights, because, at this point, I can't afford them or the space, but maybe next year. A sunny window isn't ideal, but I've made it work. When they get their true leaves, I start moving them to other south-facing windows. Which means ascending and descending stairs😅 I had a container full of leaf lettuces and romaines that I planted out in my garden yesterday, and covered with a small plastic greenhouse. The night temps shouldn't be too low for them, since most are suited for colder temps anyway. But I will fasten a frost blanket in there next to them in case we drop too low.
I think it's funny that calendula is supposed to germinate in the dark, when I germinated mine in the sunny window in 3 days flat! A challenge has been starting Elecampane, a sunflower relative for lung health. It needed 2 months of cold in the fridge first. It has been very slow germinating. I planted 3 seeds per pot in 6 pots, and so far, 4 have germinated. One came up in 12 days, one in 13, one in 18, and one in 23 days! There are still 2 pots. I'll wait a while, I guess! I'm also trying to start some lemon trees. I had some going very well last year, and lost track of them and they all died😢 So try again!
My 8-1/2 year old grandson is enthralled with the baby plants! He sits and talks to them! I think that just might be a good sign! Maybe I can get him to start gardening, too!

Sprinkle cinnamon on top of your soil to prohibit “mold, gnats” growth for seedlings. Also before planting my seedlings I heat my water to HOT then mix my soil to purify my soil from gnat eggs, any micro organisms that may be in the soil as well. 🥰 oh I wish I could write ALL my tips to you on SOOOO MANY things.

@@Latebloomershow I learned the roll here on CZcams and it works great. You should look into it and maybe try it. I think you'll love it. The lady who invented it is an absolute genius lol. Yes ma'am, garlic planted with tomatoes as a summer crop works fine. It grows slower but it's shaded with the tomato plants and keeps the worms off. You won't get big garlic like you would if planting it in fall but it works for pest control. I hope that helps. I learned it from my pawpaw. He was Cherokee and taught me a lot of gardening techniques that everyone else tells/told me not to do.

I started keeping all the packets of seeds that I had planted so I have a record of what did well and what did not. This year I winter sowed my Lavender and it came up. Last year I only had a few that made it but then died due to not preparing a bed for them. I have the same problem with starting too many seeds!
For some odd reason I cannot get my onion seeds to sprout! Only those i put in a water jug for winter sowing sprouted. I really stink at starting onions. Did you ever do a video on starting onions from seed? I am going to have to go look.

BTW, the other day I was at the garden center at Home Depot and the bees were really enjoying the poppies and lavender. I have to tell a story. When I was living in Florida I used to drive back and forth to visit my grandmother in Kentucky. One day I pulled off on a exit to seek out some gas just a little north of Macon, GA and the road on the exit was lined with tall trees that were covered in blooming wisteria. Oh, it was the most beautiful thing I ever saw and so I kept driving and forgot about gas till I arrived at a little place called Juliette. I turned in and to my surprised I found myself in the tiny town where the movie, Fried Green Tomatoes was filmed. I took a little time to get out and wander around. It didn't take long cause it's a tiny little place all encompassed in about one square block. I purchased a jar of the local honey called "sourwood honey". It was the best tasting honey I ever put in my mouth. All that story to say this. I think I heard to say something (or if you didn't you should) about seeing if anybody would want to keep bees on your property. Well, you can buy sourwood trees on the internet. I found some at: www.etsy.com/listing/1612576273/two-beautiful-sourwood-honey-trees-1-2ft?gpla=1&gao=1&&:pla-4585513245482005_c__1612576273&msclkid=e4c4c8a6a1961fbb4672ad797024fa90
Personally, I'd plant a whole grove our sourwood trees. Bees are so precious to our survival in so many ways people never consider.
