âšĄïž Gripping and emotionally charged drama that delves deep into the complexities of trauma, redemption, and the enduring scars left by a tumultuous past. The film tells the story of Scott Conway, a former Major League Baseball player whose promising career was derailed by the psychological and physical abuse he endured as a child at the hands of his stepfather, James Devine. Scott returns to his hometown after years of estrangement, haunted by the memories of his traumatic upbringing and struggling with the demons that have plagued him throughout his life.
⚟ The narrative unfolds with a tense and somber atmosphere, capturing the weight of unresolved pain and the desperate search for closure. Scott’s journey is not just about confronting his stepfather but also about facing the ghosts of his past that continue to haunt him. The film masterfully explores the cyclical nature of abuse and the long-lasting effects it has on its victims. As Scott grapples with his inner turmoil, the audience is taken on an emotional rollercoaster, feeling the depth of his anguish, rage, and the desire for revenge that consumes him.
💔 The film’s tension is palpable from the very beginning, as Scott’s return to his hometown sets the stage for an inevitable and explosive confrontation with James. The dynamics between the characters are fraught with tension, as years of buried emotions come to the surface. The film does not shy away from depicting the harsh realities of abuse and the complex emotions that accompany it. The audience is forced to confront uncomfortable truths about the impact of trauma on an individual’s psyche and the difficult road to healing.
đŸŽ„ As Scott’s story unfolds, viewers are drawn into his world, feeling his pain, anger, and confusion. The film’s pacing is deliberate, allowing the audience to fully immerse themselves in Scott’s emotional journey. Each scene is carefully crafted to build suspense, leading to a climax that is both heartbreaking and cathartic. The film’s exploration of the human condition is both raw and unflinching, offering no easy answers but instead presenting a realistic portrayal of the struggle for redemption.
đŸŽ¶ The cinematography and score complement the film’s dark and brooding tone, adding to the overall sense of unease that permeates the story. The performances are powerful, with the actors delivering nuanced portrayals of characters who are deeply flawed yet profoundly human. The film’s themes of forgiveness, vengeance, and the search for inner peace resonate deeply, leaving a lasting impact on the viewer.
🌑 Watching 90 Feet from Home is an intense and emotionally draining experience, as it forces the audience to grapple with difficult questions about justice, morality, and the possibility of reconciliation. The film’s depiction of Scott’s journey towards healing is both poignant and inspiring, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. Ultimately, 90 Feet from Home is a powerful exploration of the human spirit’s resilience in the face of unimaginable pain, and a testament to the strength it takes to confront the past and find a path towards a better future.

Parents who batter their children probably were battered themselves. Battered children never forget. Some will strike back, sooner or later, others dive deep and find the reasons for their parents atrocious behaviour and find a way to forgive. Those who forgive have often licked their wounds with alcohol or other substances. Never raise a hand to a child. Parents with anger management issues need to get help. Some people should never have children.

Being old enough biologically to procreate has absolutely nothing to do with having the emotional maturity neccessary for being a good parent.
As far as the mother, here, specifically here is concerned, some women have such low self-esteem that getting attention from a man overrides what their maternal instincts tell them is the right thing to do.

These excuses that people make; “narcissists” đŸ€Ș🙄 “trauma bonded” are nothing but cop outs. I don’t give a flying f*ck if an adult woman chooses to stay with an abuser. It’s when she also has children and she allows them to witness the abuse, or worse allows them to be abused.
Don’t tell me I don’t “know how abuse works.” Because I absolutely do. And I didn’t allow that sh*t to continue. That meant being homeless with two small children for almost a year, but I figured it out, because I HAD to! I never even got any assistance from the state. Both of my parents are deceased, so definitely no family support. We couch surfed until I found a good enough job that allowed me to get a small apartment. Now, 8 years later, I just bought a house.

I am a woman but I grew up in similar circumstances. Many times I thought of ways to stop my father (actual father) from the cruelty mental and physical he visited upon us. But with only 2 younger sisters and a baby bro, there was nothing I could do except kill him. My mother said that he was not worth going to jail over. So at 15 I left. I never forgave him, but time has helped me understand things better. There is never any excuse for hitting and torturing women and children, but I can see the circumstances that formed him and so just erasing him from my memory is the best I can do.
But if I had been a boy and had a brother the same age there would have been no way he got away with it.

This is definitely worth the watch! I almost couldn't get through the beginning bc the teenage Scottie reminded me of my own 16 yr old son (good kid.) It hurt my heart to see what all Jimmy put him through. It'll keep you guessing through the entire movie. Great job on the acting too.

This is a really good movie. I watched it several months ago, which I didn’t recognize at first, without a title, but realized just a few minutes into it, I’d already seen it. It’s hard to watch in some parts, but it’s worth watching through to the end. đŸ‘đŸœ

Also dont ever TELL people to forgive. Its nobodies place. If youre able to, good for you. If not youre no less of value. Dont give people tasks to heal. Its my journey not yours

Wow. Once I started the movie I couldn't stop watching it.
I just wish the mom left that guy. Kids go thru so much with step parents. Quit putting the children in the middle of drama.
You took away that young boys dreams while you drank your life away. I can see it in Scotty behavior, he was truly hurt beyond belief. I'm really glad he didn't pull the trigger. As much as he wanted to, he was able to forgive. That's what I got out of that part. Or maybe just letting go.
Such a sad story. Lives ruined because of an a$$ hole.
