- I thought I would put together a quick video showing you how you can create your own blend of pigments. All you need is a set of scales, a bowl, a couple of spoons, a jar with a lid and of course your pigments.
You can create your own blends from any brand of pigments. Just remember to write down your formula, so that you can produce it again next time.

Thank you so much dear Sue 💗🍀
You are so welcome 💕
Looking at several of the questions here I would say it's time for you to start selling your own label pigments along with your Luxurious Glass Glitter (available on your website) lol. Thanks for making this video, mixing pigments seems like an obvious thing to do but I had not thought about it, I'm off to start mixing :)
I am in the process of launching my own line of pigments. I am waiting for my labels to arrive and then I am good to go 💕
Plus, I have other products coming soon too. 😍
@@SueFindlay can't wait to see them, where will they be acailable for sale? Can I have your web site or where ever you are selling from?
Thank you for caring about health-it's amazing how many tutorials use resin andbother toxic materials without any personal protection.
Personal protection is a must. You can't take chances with your health 💕
Thank you as always Sue. ❤️
You are so welcome
Thank you....very helpful!
Glad it was helpful! 💕
Can you mention here the brand , type of white pigment powder you bought ? And also of other color pigments pls ?
Sorry, I am not prepared to divulge my suppliers, it took a long time of searching and negotiating to get these. 💕
@@SueFindlay okay. I didn't understand you said about the white pigment in the video. What's the name of white pigment powder in the video? What's it called as ?
Manisha's Creative Studio it is a pearl white.
Very helpful thanks ❤️
Glad it was helpful! 💕
Thanks Sue
My pleasure 💕
Love that mauve💗🔥🔥
Thank you so much! 💗
Buenos días que mezcla es y como se llama el polvo blanco el otro rojo es picmento
Very nice
Thank you 💕
I've had the most trouble finding raw pigments. Recently purchased some toner powders meant for laser color printers, found some titanium dioxide too. Most of my stuff are blends of eyeshadows and micas, but it would be great to find a source to buy the plain, basic colors of pigments somewhere. I use a morter and pestle, and plan to mix up some pigment pastes of my own.
Be careful with toners - they may be toxic....only from what I've read in other craft groups x
It took me a while to find the right supplier, so I understand your frustration. 💕
Hi Sue I recently have been using a high viscosity resin to make ocean theme projects and seem to be getting slight dimpling all over my work. My temperature was stable, no dust and only a few seconds on the hair dryer to blow the odd bubble out. I also used a warm bath for the resin and mixed correctly ...any ideas why its failing?
There could be a number of reasons, you are not using enough resin and spreading it too thinly. There could be a lot of moisture in the air, or could even be your brand of resin. You may also have your resin too warm, causing it to cure too quickly. I never warm my resin in a warm bath, during the winter months, I bring my resin indoors and allow it to warm to room temperature. I take it back out to my studio/garage and pour while still warm. When I am done, I bring it back indoors. I hope you get to the bottom of it. 💕
Is this good for splitting with ice tie dye? Its very hard to find anything about mixing procion dyes for yourself to create your own colors
Sorry, I don't know. It is not something I have tried before.
Great video, I never thought of mixing my own colours. Basic question.... what do you now do with your mixed pigments?
I use them and I am about to launch my own blend of colours and sell them through my web shop. 💕
Brilliant, good luck with that. What I was asking is use them how , as in mix them with what? xx
@@carolineratcliffe9720 my question also
Will this work using Mad Mica Pigments for making acrylic paint using a binder?
As long as you use the correct binder. 😁
@@SueFindlay I'm using an Acrylic binder such as Golden GAC100 or Pebeo Bindex or even just a paint Pouring Medium that is 100% Acrylic. Will that work? I use other pigments such as Colour Arte and This Little Piggy already, but I love the Mad Mica colors and the price is so much better for the amount you get!
Is it possible to mix those powder pigments with the Part A of epoxy (And then store it for like a month) so can have a ready to use mix? Is it safe to do this? Thanks!
Yes you can do that, just remember to add less that 10% of the paste when adding to your mixed resin.
@@SueFindlay Thank you! Also, why 10%?
Add colour in
Hello, I would like to ask you a question, is it possible to achieve the chameleon effect by mixing micas of different colors? or is it only possible with special pigments? I have a set of different colors and I would like to get a unicorn effect or similar, if possible.
The Chameleon is a specific pigment. It has been developed in a certain way and cannot be achieved just by mixing. 🥰
@@SueFindlay Thanks^^
Where can I order bulk mica powder?
I buy my pigments from China 💕
Can you please tell us where you got the bulk powders
Sorry Maria, it took me a long time of searching and negotiating to find the right supplier, so at this stage, I am not prepared to divulge this information. 💕
@@SueFindlay completely understand. 😀
maria Minogue thank you for your understanding 💕
