Miniverse products made before May 31st that include resin have been voluntarily recalled by mga due to irritation or sensitization. If you have purchased an unused ball that included resin before may 31st 2024 hit up mga on how to get a refund! A full list of products is on their site. Further resin balls will be made with a new safer resin formula that will start rolling out in a few weeks. Spa & beyond are safe!

I don't usually go for the blind ball toys a lot but I'm gonna go absolutely feral once I see these in stores. I wanna buy a whole store display/box/despenser thingy. It'd be really cute to have one of each both made as a finished food and just in the mini food packaging. And with triples I could just make my own food combos!! Definitely seems like a teenager or older kinda toy though.

Can you imagine if they did lunch, dinner, and International foods? MGA would literally rule the doll world with mini-food of this quality!
As somebody that works with resin on occasion I am very interested in this and it looks so awesome. The only concern I have is because it’s resin it shouldn’t be targeted to younger kids because resin can burn your hand especially when it’s curing.
Love these. I'm pretty sure you can use an UV-light in place of sunlight. At least UV-lights work on normal resin. And I dont think this is epoxy resin as that one usually has 2 components that needs to be mixed together to harden.
I guess bc its such a small amount of resin and they say to place it in the sun, that there is no worries of exposure of toxic fumes.
Cant wait for these to get released in Europe.

I work with resin as an artist and these toys make me stressed. You need to have gloves, a respirator and be in a well-ventilated room. Never let it touch your skin or let it get in your eyes or mouth etc. There's a danger with even nontoxic resin and I firmly believe resin should never be in a kid's toy or craft. If resin doesn't cure properly it's unsafe too, I can think of a million different ways this toy is unsafe for kids and things could go wrong. This is great for adults but adults only.

I've seen Japanese craft kits meant for children with a resin-like substance that gives the same basic effect. I don't know what it's called, but I wonder why they didn't just use that? Nontoxic resin is great and all, but why on earth would they risk this? I'm concerned there will be a recall if a child gets hurt.
I think you should use a toothpick next time they give you a knife your hands will be farther away from the resin.

This is cute, but I'm worried about the use of resin in a children's product. Especially since I feel like a lot of parents won't read the safely instructions and have no idea what resin is.
I had no idea this was even a thing lol not sure how I feel about them looks so unsafe for a kid lol but I’m game to try at least one and the scale for RH looked perfect ❤

I don't like the prices of these but I can't help but get a few when I find them. So cute! It would be more worth the $10 if it wasn't blind, I hate blind box toys. I agree, resin is not good for little kids, but then I don't have kids so who knows what those little boogers can do.

Only found 2 yesterday. Both Walmart stores said they had a bunch but no one knew where they were. I don’t recommend for kids without supervision but I had a blast.

I'm really excited for these but scared they could get recalled because of kids trying to eat it or what not. I agree with a lot of the comments it should be more for adults than kids. So I might go a little crazy when they first come out 😊
I really hope that if parents buy these for their kids, they would have the intelligence to be aware that it isn't food and to warn their kids of this and even better, supervise the making of this so they don't get resin on their skin. If kids end up eating the resin, theres some pretty dumb neglectful parents out there.

I got some for my kids for xmas, age 7.5 and 10. I will be doing it with them and will likely be the one pouring/spreading the resin and they can place the plastic food bits on it with the tweezers. We'll see how it goes 😅 I also bought some gloves.

I started buying those Miniverse toys that uses resin. Because they were toys I didn’t think it would be toxic. Even then, I made sure she had minimal contact and supervised one. I got her to squeeze the bottle a little bit as it was pretend chocolate coating and she was having so much fun ‘cooking’ the toy.
I also kept it out of reach on top of her very tall dollhouse while it dried. Again as it was a toy I kept it in her room.
1 day later as I was inspecting I realised it still wasn’t dried and accidentally dropped on my shirt and fingers. As I was wearing contacts I researched the substance before taking my contacts out with my fingers as the resin was still stuck on my fingers… also I don’t really smell it. It’s quite mild but in the morning I smelt it in my daughter’s room and it was a stronger smell (maybe I was a bit more sensitive to it now after researching). Now I’m upset and paranoid as we kept her windows closed during the night because it is still cold here 😞 i researched further about the smell and found out it can be toxic..I hope it hasn’t done anything to her. She seems ok 😞

The food part is great but the resin part, I dunno. These sets would be just as good if they molded on the sauces and spreads, or even if they used like a 3d paint or colored glue I'd feel a little better about it.
Yeah I feel they should maybe use some other binder rather than resin. Just for safety

Cool concept. Although does anyone know if a quick drying putty would have been safer or easier than resin when it comes to the spreads? This seems like a bad idea. I know parents aren't going to read the warning. Or some kid being silly decides to taste the resin or didn't wash their hands and stick their fingers in their mouths or rub their eyes.
