Good morning Peter, I hope you are fine. I am a part time Guitar performer and Stage Tracks 3 is definitely something I will use going forward. I can tell from the features in the tool that you know what live performers want. Going through all the tutorials, I would like to suggest a few shortcomings you may be interested in adding. 8 outgoing midi channels for instruments and the possibility of displaying chords in graphical form. The first feature is because I do use a integra 7 sound module for my backup tracks and the second feature is for more complex chords without having to revert to the pdf file. Cheers ! I really love what you have done and will be buying the tool upon returning from my vacation. 😎

Peter, I believe in giving "roses to the living"! With that said...I've been a solo singer for nearly thirty years, mainly singing Gospel music but later in life the great standards from the American Songbook. The music of the Bennetts, Como's, Cole's, etc. For well over 25 years I've used a program called "MC Pro". A Windows-based program with a lot of restrictions and pricey. What you have created is absolutely genius! I've used ST3 now for nearly 2 years. Every time I've used it I honestly marvel at how easy and rock-solid it is. It has "NEVER LET ME DOWN". The improvements that you have made to the program such as ICloud updates are fabulous. I honestly, don't believe I have paid you anywhere near the value of what you've created. You must be a man with an "enormous giving heart". Thank you so much.
Peter, I'm a pro singer for 30 years. I've used Set List Maker which is good but just found Stage Traxx 3 and it is PERFECT for what I do. I can't see the cross-fade button but it works anyway. You're a genius! I will be spreading the love. Thanks. 👍

Great app, amazed at how much it can do. Just what I wanted. Being from the UK this cost £24.99 so quite a bit more than the EUR19.99 shown in the video but it's worth it for me for the ease of use. Still setting up my playlists and won't be using it live for a while; will update this when I have.
Hi Peter, I'm a semi pro singer with the last 40 years and 9 years ago I left the band scene to go solo and I purchased players from M-live okyweb, one being the merish plus player. and got so used to its sound and midi playback also mp3 I did not believe anything could touch it, But yes old technology, I have been browsing the Web for best backing track player and how also others set up their backtracks, stumbled on CZcams Sheron and he has been so helpful to me in every way to explain your stage traxx 3 software, I purchased ipad 9 , first Ipad ever, downloaded and bought full version and yesterday uploaded all my mp3's to your player, and I was mind blown by the sound through my expensive PA system and I did not even have my Subs connected, the sound blew my Merish out of the water, as Sheron stated, so many backtracks players out there Peter, but you are the God father, the holy grail of backtrack players for musicians, thank you for creating this, and I'm wondering is there a paid online video step by step tutorial I can purchase to understand every feature ??? also now that I have my Mp3's uploaded I wish to now find lyrics for my songs, I know its just copy and paste into edit lyrics, but if I put in chords myself manually above a lyric line I create, will your player recognise my chords so if I change pitch will your software see this and automatically change my chords ??? also will your player ever be upgraded to play midi files, I know midi is midi no matter what you do with it, and will always sound midi, mp3 is the way to go going forwards for sound quality and performance, thank you again for your amazing software, and so reasonably priced, sorry for questions I ask, I'm a newbie Peter and on the learning curve into the world of Stage traxx 3 🤔😉
I'm afraid I don't have any paid tutorials. Only the free tutorials but I think I cover all parts necessary to get you going. If not, drop by in the support forum at support.stagetraxx.com. Regarding the chords: Yes, ST3 will detect your chords and transpose them on the fly. But I would recommend writing them with square brackets directly into your lyrics instead of above your lyrics. I explain this in my lyrics video. I don't have plans for midi as I find that format very lacking in sound quality. If you use midi I would strongly recommend to do a mixdown in a DAW with top notch sound plugins and then use the audio.

Hi, I just downloaded Stage Traxx 3 on my Apple iPad and I found it to be a lot better than the majority (if not all) of the mp3 players on the App Store (I've tried them all). I used LiveTrax Pro for years until they "improved" it and now it's unmanageable (full of bugs). The only feature that I wish Stage Traxx 3 had (similar to LiveTrax Pro) was unlimited songs in the queue instead of just one song in the queue. But high praises to you for a solid player.
The queue can have as many songs as you like. You can add a whole playlist to the queue if you like or just add songs separately. I made a whole video about the Advanced Queue Mode. Maybe that can give you some hints.
Thanks for your reply Peter, I think I will try revert away from midi for future reference, as you said lacking in quality, and I believe this to be completely true, I was even told don't even try to enhance midi with your DAW, spend your valuable time now with ST3 and start as you mean to go on, midi is ancient technology, steer away from it, But yes I did also view your other tutorials, I must go over the last one again where you were adding in loops to play live in performance, I only flew through it, did not attempt it it, but I can honestly say you certainly thought of everything here with ST3, that's also for your invite to support if I need it, hopefully I will be able to grasp an understanding to knowing my way around your software, in regards to adding chords, it was always above the line, you did say it will work this way also without brackets, I just think adding them between words would end up confusing me when live But that's me and my opinion You developed the software so Peter knows best, right now I'm adding the lyrics and timestamping every song, slow process but very benificial and will only need to be done once, I still have a few hundred more to do, then I'll restart and add in chords to those I'm not sure about, yes a very very slow process, but worthed in the end, 👍
Hi,I always appreciated a stage Traxx,used it for my singing\backing up tracks,but majorly in the last years as the supportive music for my yoga classes.i could deal with the technology pretty well,then out of a sudden certain tracks were in the read,did not work anymore/my iCloud was backed up,so in the end I bought the updated stage Traxx 3 version.,only not being able to handle it at all,cancelled it,then in need of this platform and trusting to find a way to handle it,I purchased it again ,@and somehow stuck again… I want a continuous playlist,where I don’t have to tap at the next track,even after your tutorial and clicking on auto play,the tunes seemed not to follow me I liked the former format much more,similiar comes up occasionally ,but disappears. At todays yoga class I tried the new version,it started not too bad,then the volume had been too loud,and I had to fiddle during the class,the older version had an easy access volume button,as well my wished playlist did not succeed. In the end I changed to apple music,what I did not intend to🙏
Since the update earlier today certain songs in my playlists won’t play and automatically skip to the following song. Sometimes if I press play for that next song it misses it too. The only way I could over rule a missed song was to select it again, swipe the timeline back and forth back to the start, and then it would play normally.
*EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED AND UPDATED! THANKS TO PETER FOR A QUICK RESPONSE! - loving the app! One thing (did send an email) - my song properties button crashes my app. iPad 9 (64gig) Would love a fix for that. :) Gigging in a week and wanna completely migrate over to this app! :)
You mean when you edited text in the app? Yes, just replace the audio file in the Stage Traxx 3 folder, then open song details for that song in ST3 and tap on the refresh button to regenerate the waveform from the new file.

For some reason when I click restore purchase (on my iPhone) it takes me to the Apple Store and asks me to start the purchase procedure with the $ included. Do I just click that and apple will say ‘you already have paid for this. Would you like it on this device’. Or words to that effect? I hesitate doing that because in Aussie dollars it’s around $38.95.
Peter - I have two requests for adding and playing songs: 1) In the song attributes field, add a field for the Key Signature of the song 2) When playing a song, make the space bar a toggle for play and pause. Thanks Dave
Just assign the space bar to start/stop playback in assignable actions. What exactly should the key signature do in song attributes? The app does not need it and it is not displayed anywhere. If you want to see the key signature in the song list you could add it to the artist field.

This is a great app. Just had it a day and bought a stage podium for my iPad. Ready to go… I was using a TELICON VSL 3 Extreme and had to export from computer then import using USB. NO MORE. This app is outstanding.
Hi Peter, we have talked before. I have managed to get iTunes to connect from my Windows 11 laptop with my iPhone, even if it is an older model. A nice lady from Apple ran me through it. We have used Stage Traxx for quite a while now because it is the only app that stops at the end of each track, which is what I need, or at least we have never found another one. I do have a few problems though. One is that it is a bit erratic? Sometimes the + to add tracks appears, other times it doesn't. Another one is why do different colours appear on the list of tracks on Stage Traxx (we had 3), saying for example playing next, even if didn't choose it, just in the middle of the list? And sometimes the screen with the playlist becomes very tiny, no idea why and not easy to get it to go back to normal and show the playlist properly. Also if I need to get new songs from the Library into Stage Traxx main list, when I manage to find the + again, sometimes the window showing where to import them appears, other times it doesn't? Am I doing something wrong? Will watch your tutorial, thanks.
You can only add songs from the songs tab. I would strongly suggest you read at least the overview chapter in the manual. All your questions are answered there: stagetraxx.com/user-guide/overview/
@@stagetraxx Thanks, I will.... I didn't know that there was a manual. Yes, I only want to add songs that I have put in the Library. First time no problem at all, then added a couple more songs to the library and the + button on the top of Stage Traxx wouldn't show anymore, then we clicked around, not even know what we were doing and it eventually appeared again. This has happened in the past as well while trying to add songs to the playlists. Somehow things work at times and then don't work. Do you maybe know why?

@@stagetraxx One more question if you don't mind, Peter.... Can one modify the titles of the songs on Stage Traxx? Some of mine are too long for me to easily see which tracks they are, as I change the pitch, speed and need to know whether I am picking the correct ones, so by now I would have preferred that I had made the titles shorter but don't want to remover them all, change them on my computer and put them back again and then create playlists. Too much work...
Hi Peter, I am really enjoying using the app. Do you have any advice for the best separator to use between chords to give a gap? As I find that when chords are listed in quick succession (say after one word), when they are displayed on the screen, they come up as being next to each other which can be confusing.
Hi Peter. Love this app. I have the full version. I do have a question though. I run the backing tracks and would like my vocalists to see the lyrics and what song is up up next. I'll be the "Host" but does the full version needs to be downloaded on their phones for them to join and see the lyrics?

Can you tell me where on the app ( ST3 ) I can set it to automatically remove played songs once played but after closing app the saved set list appears as it was in it’s entirety please ?
You can disable the tracking of played songs in "User Interface" settings. The option is called "Show DONE Marker". If you want to work with these markers and just want to clear the status after a gig, go to the "History" tab and tap on "Clear".
is it possible to use on a macbook pro also, are multiple downloads allowed, eg; i want to gig with another musician, can that person have a copy on their ipad? if so where is the setting for that. Another question is, do you have to use the mouse for the start stop button, ideally id like to use the space bar
You can run Stage Traxx on macOS Big Sur and later. Your in app purchase is valid for all devices running with your AppleId. Bandmates using their own iPads need to purchase their own license. Most actions (like start/stop) can be mapped to keys or midi commands.

This looks wonderful. It is very frustrating to search all around and not see what the price is. "Stage Traxx 3 cost," "Stage Traxx 3 price," etc. do not lead to any answers. It does take me to the website where I would think the cost would be easily, clearly available. It is a very nice site but I couldn't find the price. The App Store tries to be helpful by stating In-App Purchases - not helpful. I am not complaining about the price and I am sure I would pay. But the question is valid, natural, and obvious. Why is it hard to find the answer?
You can see all in app purchases prices in the AppStore when you expand the list of in app purchases. But I agree that it is not obvious for most users. The price for the full version is $25.
Hi, I'm just getting started with connecting an iPad to my Yamaha synthesizer, and I'm a bit lost. Can I use this app to play my own MIDI files on the keyboard with the lyrics synchronised so that it tells you what position the song is in? Which iPad model is it compatible with? Thanks!

Hi Peter, I’ve been using Stagetraxx 3 since early this year (2022) and can only commend you on an absolutely brilliant system which is user friendly for all musicians and singers. I had a few technical problems a few months ago and emailed support, to which you personally replied, and all is now working fine. I have one question that you might be able to advise me on: I usually prefer to have my iPad horizontal on stage, and when on certain songs I press the title bar at the bottom to open up the lyrics, the playlist is hidden. I see that if you have the iPad VERTICAL, then the playlist still appears on the left when lyrics for the current song are displayed. Is it possible to have the same display when the iPad is horizontal? Thanks, Richard
Yes, you can open and close the song list and even change the width of the song list. The position and size is remembered seperately for landscape and portrait orientation. See here: stagetraxx.com/user-guide/overview/#full-screen-player-with-lyrics
Hi Peter. I have 2 ipads ...need to transpose a song. On one ipad go to settings...under Playback menu is master tuning so simply adjust. On main ipad, master tuning is missing under same playback menu. Can you help. Kindest regards. John
Hi. Been using Stage Traxx for years now and very happy. Just purchased version 3 but I really miss the fact that I’m not able to use dropbox anymore. Is there any way I can access/copy the songs from the older app to the new one. They are obviously already stored on my iPad…
You can still use Dropbox. You need to download the Dropbox app and then activate the integration into the Files app. Then you can access it from within Stage Traxx. This can be done with any cloud drive service that supports iOS.
Unfortunately not on my iPad…maybe older version. Can also not connect to iTunes on my computer. Tried everything, watched your video and another couple of times but I can’t make it work….so back to using Stage Traxx 1
I typed the lyrics to a song that I will record the audio for later. It is in the lyrics only format in Stage Traxx 3. This was done on my iPhone Pro 13 Max. I want to transfer this lyric to my iPad Pro Stage Traxx 3. I don't know how. Nothing in the manual is helpful.
Data transfer is currently only possible by creating a backup on one device, transferring it to the other (via Airdrop for example) and restoring it. See here: stagetraxx.com/user-guide/backups/ Automatic syncing between devices is on my todo list and planned for early next year.
Peter, loving the app so far, but a couple of suggestions/thoughts…. When importing songs, it imports the titles in lower case for some reason. Can that be changed? Not used to seeing that and have to change them. Also, any way to makevsongs that have been previously downloaded from the cloud be greyed out? Will there be a way to transpose only part of a song? Thanks so much! Awesome abilities here that I’m only starting to play with!
It imports the titles the way they have been set in the title tag. If there is not title tag, it uses the filename. So make sure your songs are tagged properly. Transpose will always change all chords in a song. Not sure which use case would need partial transpose.
@@stagetraxx When I save songs in Dropbox the first letter of each word is always a capital, but they still import in lower case. Am I missing something? Also, I have multiple songs that transpose part way through the song. An easy silly one would be Crazy by Patsy Cline. Thanks for responding.
@@jackbaitinger5109 That's a known problem with Dropbox. Somehow it changes filenames to lowercase. This has not been fixed by Dropbox in 3 years!!! Just make sure your songs have proper tagging and then you will not see this problem. Or switch to iCloud Drive. That's way cheaper anyway.
Hello Peter, first time user, just bought the app. Simple to import a playlist from iTunes but they were added alphabetically which I didn’t want. The order in iTunes is the order I want to play them in. Is it possible to import the songs in the order I already have them in the original playlist? Thank you
If you import a whole playlist, a playlist in Stage Traxx is also created with the correct order. The song tab always displays all songs alphabetical order by default. So please take a look at the playlists tab.
I'm over Onsong instability and lack of backup support let alone the now Subscription to an App that crashes. Might give this a go. I run my lighting from Onsong can I do that with Stage Traxx 3?
I liked this video very much... it was helpful in many respects, and only one problem I had was to notice and follow the transparent pointer bubble. I will watch it again. One important question is, when is the Mac IOS version coming out? Thank you!
You are right, it is a bit hard to see. Maybe I will create new videos on the Mac so that you can always see the mouse pointer. Both Mac and iOS versions are available on the AppStore.
Just found about your app from Scott Url. Long, long time OnSong user. Looks like I may have found a new app :). Bought the full version and I am testing things out. I am currently going the MIDI capabilities. I want to be able to send MIDI commands to a SingularSound Beat Buddy drum machine. Been doing this for quite some time now in OnSong. Struggling a bit to get ST3 to work. Here's the OnSong format: CC0.4:6@0. (The Beat Buddy counts 0 as a number, so you have to subtract 1). This command tells the Beat Buddy (assigned to MIDI Ch 1. Confusing I know) to select folder 3, song 5. I tried this in ST3 using CC3.5@1 embedded in the lyrics and it didn't work. The iPad is connected to the BeatBuddy use an iConnect mio midi cable and ST3 sees it as an output.
@@stagetraxx I believe this SingularSound’s syntax. It’s my understanding that the 0. is the Most Significant Bit and the .4 (in this case) is Least Significant Bit. Since we’re dealing with binary, the LSB has a max value of 128. If I wanted to select folder 129, I would enter, 1.0. Again, this just my understanding of it. The whole MSB.LSB comes more into play when programming tempo than folders. I thought the folder selection was a CC command. In OnSong, you don’t have to include it, so it I may be mixing up the two. Thank you for clearing that up, Peter. I will try that out and let you know how it works. If I can get working, ST3 will be my Go-To app and will help me transition away from OS. 👍
@@stagetraxx It’s been so long since I programmed all this in about five years ago, I am probably just confusing the CC and PC commands. Most of the programming is done using the OnSong app that you don’t even see the syntax. All of commands I manually enter, I picked up from the BeatBuddy Forum years ago.
@@stagetraxx Peter, just wanted to let you know I got it working. Your syntax was correct. This a little different than the syntax OnSong uses, plus they allow you to drop off the PC prefix. So, I just got my CC’s mixed up with my PC’s. I was also able to set the tempo with a CC command. All good in the hood, now. Thank you!!!
i have a question please, if i create a song, attach a wav file of the song, but on stage, i only want to see the lyrics, how do i go about doing this without having the wav file playing, thanks
@@stagetraxx I am using a Yamaha tyros five keyboard that has an internal hard drive. We’re all my songs are. I use the keyboard to play the tracks, but I’m trying to find a way to have a back up of the files if ever the internal hard drive on the keyboard has a problem
@@MrDecibel123 In that case I would just turn down the iPad hardware volume (buttons) down. That way your song volumes could be setup in a consistent way so that you would just need to turn up your iPad volume to take over.
Hi… I’ve downloaded the free version for now and when I try to import songs from ITunes (now Apple Music) the screen is just blank with no artist info whatsoever… Any tips? Thanks in advance 👍🏻
Edit: I’ve put the app onto my phone (originally was on iPad) and I can access my songs. Went into settings on iPad and access is granted for my music library but still no joy
@@gavindont Stage Traxx will only show songs that are not copy protected. I guess you have an Apple Music subscription and that contains only copy protected songs.
@@gavindont Maybe these are songs you bought on the phone. But anyway. Just import them on the phone, then create a full backup file in Stage Traxx and restore that on your other devices or just enable Cloud Sync.

Do you also always have 120 bpm, wenn you import a track? I tried everything....((((( All the BPM's are shown corrent on iTunes, so they are put correctly (I even used special Tag-Software), but nothing helps:((((( Anybody with the same problem? PLEASE HEEEEEELP
@@stagetraxx exactly that was my purpose👍 I just wanted to send the midi clock of each song in a playlist in Stage Traxx 3 to another FX-apps and plug-ins on my iPad and so synchronize the BPM everywhere. I also found some good software solutions to detect the right BPM of each MP3, and after that to write it into a I D3v2 tag, but even when a I don’t all the steps I still get only 120 BPM… is there any way to fix it?
Hi Peter, i have an in issue with AUTOPLAY turned on the next song played is a random choice and not the next song in the playlist. What am I doing wrong?
ST will always play the song that is marked as NEXT. So if you switch to another playlist and select a song there, this will be played as the next song.
@@phil-saxman2318 Could you maybe explain in detail what you are doing? If you select a song in a playlist, ST will continue playing the songs from this playlist until you select something else. So I can‘t imagine how random songs would be played in your case.

I have created a playlist I turn on autoplay I start with the first song on my playlist At the end of this song it automatically goes to another song the playlist which is somehow randomly assigned to play as ‘NEXT’ I just want the songs to play automatically in the order of the playlist which is my preferred track running order I have no idea why this one song is assigned as ‘next’
@@phil-saxman2318 When you tap on a song while the first is playing, that song will be selected as the next song. So my only explanation right now is that you tap on one of the songs in the playlist while playback is running.
I am not aware of any bugs with scrolling. Make sure autoscrolling is enabled in lyrics settings. And then adjusted the scrolling tempo during playback or add timestamps to the lyrics. I made a dedicated tutorial video about this.
do you set athe play list order. I don't want it in idiot alphabet order or oldest to newest I want it in the order I want it. Do i have to lookfor the next son after every song in which case this program is useless to me and I've wasted and lost my money again on useless bloody programs that don't do as I want such as allow me to set the order of the song in my setlist pretty bloody basic if ya ask me
amazing app, unfortunately after I bought the complete version I realized that other band members need to buy a full access app too to "join" the host session. I think it s really expensive and not fair so I abandoned for a band but I use it for my solo live!

Good morning Peter, I hope you are fine. I am a part time Guitar performer and Stage Tracks 3 is definitely something I will use going forward. I can tell from the features in the tool that you know what live performers want. Going through all the tutorials, I would like to suggest a few shortcomings you may be interested in adding. 8 outgoing midi channels for instruments and the possibility of displaying chords in graphical form. The first feature is because I do use a integra 7 sound module for my backup tracks and the second feature is for more complex chords without having to revert to the pdf file. Cheers ! I really love what you have done and will be buying the tool upon returning from my vacation. 😎

Peter, I believe in giving "roses to the living"! With that said...I've been a solo singer for nearly thirty years, mainly singing Gospel music but later in life the great standards from the American Songbook. The music of the Bennetts, Como's, Cole's, etc. For well over 25 years I've used a program called "MC Pro". A Windows-based program with a lot of restrictions and pricey. What you have created is absolutely genius! I've used ST3 now for nearly 2 years. Every time I've used it I honestly marvel at how easy and rock-solid it is. It has "NEVER LET ME DOWN". The improvements that you have made to the program such as ICloud updates are fabulous. I honestly, don't believe I have paid you anywhere near the value of what you've created. You must be a man with an "enormous giving heart". Thank you so much.

Peter, I'm a pro singer for 30 years. I've used Set List Maker which is good but just found Stage Traxx 3 and it is PERFECT for what I do. I can't see the cross-fade button but it works anyway. You're a genius! I will be spreading the love. Thanks. 👍
You need to enable the crossfade button in the Fade Settings. It will then be visible in the lyrics area.

Great app, amazed at how much it can do. Just what I wanted. Being from the UK this cost £24.99 so quite a bit more than the EUR19.99 shown in the video but it's worth it for me for the ease of use. Still setting up my playlists and won't be using it live for a while; will update this when I have.

I have been browsing the Web for best backing track player and how also others set up their backtracks, stumbled on CZcams Sheron and he has been so helpful to me in every way to explain your stage traxx 3 software, I purchased ipad 9 , first Ipad ever, downloaded and bought full version and yesterday uploaded all my mp3's to your player, and I was mind blown by the sound through my expensive PA system and I did not even have my Subs connected, the sound blew my Merish out of the water,

also now that I have my Mp3's uploaded I wish to now find lyrics for my songs, I know its just copy and paste into edit lyrics, but if I put in chords myself manually above a lyric line I create, will your player recognise my chords so if I change pitch will your software see this and automatically change my chords ???

I'm afraid I don't have any paid tutorials. Only the free tutorials but I think I cover all parts necessary to get you going. If not, drop by in the support forum at support.stagetraxx.com.
Regarding the chords: Yes, ST3 will detect your chords and transpose them on the fly. But I would recommend writing them with square brackets directly into your lyrics instead of above your lyrics. I explain this in my lyrics video.
I don't have plans for midi as I find that format very lacking in sound quality. If you use midi I would strongly recommend to do a mixdown in a DAW with top notch sound plugins and then use the audio.

Hi, I just downloaded Stage Traxx 3 on my Apple iPad and I found it to be a lot better than the majority (if not all) of the mp3 players on the App Store (I've tried them all). I used LiveTrax Pro for years until they "improved" it and now it's unmanageable (full of bugs). The only feature that I wish Stage Traxx 3 had (similar to LiveTrax Pro) was unlimited songs in the queue instead of just one song in the queue. But high praises to you for a solid player.
The queue can have as many songs as you like. You can add a whole playlist to the queue if you like or just add songs separately. I made a whole video about the Advanced Queue Mode. Maybe that can give you some hints.

But yes I did also view your other tutorials, I must go over the last one again where you were adding in loops to play live in performance, I only flew through it, did not attempt it it, but I can honestly say you certainly thought of everything
here with ST3, that's also for your invite to support if I need it, hopefully I will be able to grasp an understanding to knowing my way around your software, in regards to adding chords, it was always above the line, you did say it will work this way also without brackets, I just think adding them between words would end up confusing me when live

You developed the software so Peter knows best, right now I'm adding the lyrics and timestamping every song, slow process but very benificial and will only need to be done once, I still have a few hundred more to do, then I'll restart and add in chords to those I'm not sure about, yes a very very slow process, but worthed in the end, 👍

stage Traxx,used it for my singing\backing up tracks,but majorly in the last years as the supportive music for my yoga classes.i could deal with the technology pretty well,then out of a sudden certain tracks were in the read,did not work anymore/my iCloud was backed up,so in the end I bought the updated stage Traxx 3 version.,only not being able to handle it at all,cancelled it,then in need of this platform and trusting to find a way to handle it,I purchased it again ,@and somehow stuck again…
I want a continuous playlist,where I don’t have to tap at the next track,even after your tutorial and clicking on auto play,the tunes seemed not to follow me
I liked the former format much more,similiar comes up occasionally ,but disappears.
At todays yoga class I tried the new version,it started not too bad,then the volume had been too loud,and I had to fiddle during the class,the older version had an easy access volume button,as well my wished playlist did not succeed.
In the end I changed to apple music,what I did not intend to🙏
Since the update earlier today certain songs in my playlists won’t play and automatically skip to the following song. Sometimes if I press play for that next song it misses it too. The only way I could over rule a missed song was to select it again, swipe the timeline back and forth back to the start, and then it would play normally.
Please update to version 3.5.2. What you describe is a bug in version 3.5.1.
*EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED AND UPDATED! THANKS TO PETER FOR A QUICK RESPONSE! - loving the app! One thing (did send an email) - my song properties button crashes my app. iPad 9 (64gig) Would love a fix for that. :) Gigging in a week and wanna completely migrate over to this app! :)
Seems like the iOS 15.4.1 has broken that dialog. I will release an update until the weekend.

You mean when you edited text in the app? Yes, just replace the audio file in the Stage Traxx 3 folder, then open song details for that song in ST3 and tap on the refresh button to regenerate the waveform from the new file.

For some reason when I click restore purchase (on my iPhone) it takes me to the Apple Store and asks me to start the purchase procedure with the $ included. Do I just click that and apple will say ‘you already have paid for this. Would you like it on this device’. Or words to that effect? Peter - I have two requests for adding and playing songs:
1) In the song attributes field, add a field for the Key Signature of the song
2) When playing a song, make the space bar a toggle for play and pause.

Just assign the space bar to start/stop playback in assignable actions.
What exactly should the key signature do in song attributes? The app does not need it and it is not displayed anywhere. If you want to see the key signature in the song list you could add it to the artist field.

This is a great app. Just had it a day and bought a stage podium for my iPad. Ready to go… I was using a TELICON VSL 3 Extreme and had to export from computer then import using USB. NO MORE. This app is outstanding.

Hi Peter, we have talked before. I have managed to get iTunes to connect from my Windows 11 laptop with my iPhone, even if it is an older model. A nice lady from Apple ran me through it. We have used Stage Traxx for quite a while now because it is the only app that stops at the end of each track, which is what I need, or at least we have never found another one. I do have a few problems though. One is that it is a bit erratic? Sometimes the + to add tracks appears, other times it doesn't. Another one is why do different colours appear on the list of tracks on Stage Traxx (we had 3), saying for example playing next, even if didn't choose it, just in the middle of the list? And sometimes the screen with the playlist becomes very tiny, no idea why and not easy to get it to go back to normal and show the playlist properly. Also if I need to get new songs from the Library into Stage Traxx main list, when I manage to find the + again, sometimes the window showing where to import them appears, other times it doesn't? Am I doing something wrong? Will watch your tutorial, thanks.
You can only add songs from the songs tab. I would strongly suggest you read at least the overview chapter in the manual. All your questions are answered there: stagetraxx.com/user-guide/overview/

First time no problem at all, then added a couple more songs to the library and the + button on the top of Stage Traxx wouldn't show anymore, then we clicked around, not even know what we were doing and it eventually appeared again. This has happened in the past as well while trying to add songs to the playlists. Somehow things work at times and then don't work. Do you maybe know why?

Some of mine are too long for me to easily see which tracks they are, as I change the pitch, speed and need to know whether I am picking the correct ones, so by now I would have preferred that I had made the titles shorter but don't want to remover them all, change them on my computer and put them back again and then create playlists. Too much work...
Hi Peter, I am really enjoying using the app. Do you have any advice for the best separator to use between chords to give a gap? As I find that when chords are listed in quick succession (say after one word), when they are displayed on the screen, they come up as being next to each other which can be confusing.
You could add a couple of spaces into the chord tag like this: [C7 ]

Yes, the full version is needed to use the network feature both on host and the client devices.

Hi Peter my Mac Pro Laptop when I go to add songs my iTunes doesnt show as an option only the other 3 options. Is this because its a setting or because its the a Laptop. I will be transferring onto an Ipad also.

Stage Traxx can not access the iTunes library on a mac. Just drag and drop the songs from iTunes to your desktop and them import form there.
Bought my app on line form Apple Store .When I open the app , it does not look at all like to one in the video.Should I be downloading and upgrade ? Thanks

Can I print my song and setlists? Other programs can print note and keys.
You can export a playlist as a text file and print it or send it via email.
Can you tell me where on the app ( ST3 ) I can set it to automatically remove played songs once played but after closing app the saved set list appears as it was in it’s entirety please ?
You can disable the tracking of played songs in "User Interface" settings. The option is called "Show DONE Marker".
If you want to work with these markers and just want to clear the status after a gig, go to the "History" tab and tap on "Clear".
is it possible to use on a macbook pro also, are multiple downloads allowed, eg; i want to gig with another musician, can that person have a copy on their ipad? if so where is the setting for that. Another question is, do you have to use the mouse for the start stop button, ideally id like to use the space bar
You can run Stage Traxx on macOS Big Sur and later.
Your in app purchase is valid for all devices running with your AppleId. Bandmates using their own iPads need to purchase their own license.
Most actions (like start/stop) can be mapped to keys or midi commands.

This looks wonderful. It is very frustrating to search all around and not see what the price is. "Stage Traxx 3 cost," "Stage Traxx 3 price," etc. do not lead to any answers. It does take me to the website where I would think the cost would be easily, clearly available. It is a very nice site but I couldn't find the price. The App Store tries to be helpful by stating In-App Purchases - not helpful. I am not complaining about the price and I am sure I would pay. But the question is valid, natural, and obvious. Why is it hard to find the answer?
You can see all in app purchases prices in the AppStore when you expand the list of in app purchases. But I agree that it is not obvious for most users. The price for the full version is $25.

You can shuffle your playlists. That is one of the sort options.

Hi, I'm just getting started with connecting an iPad to my Yamaha synthesizer, and I'm a bit lost. Can I use this app to play my own MIDI files on the keyboard with the lyrics synchronised so that it tells you what position the song is in? Which iPad model is it compatible with? Thanks!
No, you can only play audio files. MIDI files are not supported. MIDI can be used though to control other devices (i.e. by sending program changes).

Hi Peter, I’ve been using Stagetraxx 3 since early this year (2022) and can only commend you on an absolutely brilliant system which is user friendly for all musicians and singers. I had a few technical problems a few months ago and emailed support, to which you personally replied, and all is now working fine.
I have one question that you might be able to advise me on: I usually prefer to have my iPad horizontal on stage, and when on certain songs I press the title bar at the bottom to open up the lyrics, the playlist is hidden. I see that if you have the iPad VERTICAL, then the playlist still appears on the left when lyrics for the current song are displayed.
Is it possible to have the same display when the iPad is horizontal?

Hi Peter. I have 2 ipads ...need to transpose a song. On one ipad go to settings...under Playback menu is master tuning so simply adjust. On main ipad, master tuning is missing under same playback menu. Can you help.

It can only be missing if you run an old version (older than 3.5.0) of ST3 on your main iPad.
Hi. Been using Stage Traxx for years now and very happy. Just purchased version 3 but I really miss the fact that I’m not able to use dropbox anymore. Is there any way I can access/copy the songs from the older app to the new one. They are obviously already stored on my iPad…
You can still use Dropbox. You need to download the Dropbox app and then activate the integration into the Files app. Then you can access it from within Stage Traxx. This can be done with any cloud drive service that supports iOS.
Unfortunately not on my iPad…maybe older version. Can also not connect to iTunes on my computer. Tried everything, watched your video and another couple of times but I can’t make it work….so back to using Stage Traxx 1

Everything works fine on an iPad Air 2. But everything works even better on an iPad Pro 9.7 ;)

Sure, ST3 fully works offline.
I typed the lyrics to a song that I will record the audio for later. It is in the lyrics only format in Stage Traxx 3. This was done on my iPhone Pro 13 Max. I want to transfer this lyric to my iPad Pro Stage Traxx 3. I don't know how. Nothing in the manual is helpful.
Data transfer is currently only possible by creating a backup on one device, transferring it to the other (via Airdrop for example) and restoring it. See here: stagetraxx.com/user-guide/backups/
Automatic syncing between devices is on my todo list and planned for early next year.
Peter, loving the app so far, but a couple of suggestions/thoughts…. When importing songs, it imports the titles in lower case for some reason. Can that be changed? Not used to seeing that and have to change them. Also, any way to makevsongs that have been previously downloaded from the cloud be greyed out? Will there be a way to transpose only part of a song? Thanks so much! Awesome abilities here that I’m only starting to play with!
It imports the titles the way they have been set in the title tag. If there is not title tag, it uses the filename. So make sure your songs are tagged properly.
Transpose will always change all chords in a song. Not sure which use case would need partial transpose.
@@stagetraxx When I save songs in Dropbox the first letter of each word is always a capital, but they still import in lower case. Am I missing something? Also, I have multiple songs that transpose part way through the song. An easy silly one would be Crazy by Patsy Cline. Thanks for responding.
@@jackbaitinger5109 That's a known problem with Dropbox. Somehow it changes filenames to lowercase. This has not been fixed by Dropbox in 3 years!!! Just make sure your songs have proper tagging and then you will not see this problem. Or switch to iCloud Drive. That's way cheaper anyway.
Hello Peter, first time user, just bought the app. Simple to import a playlist from iTunes but they were added alphabetically which I didn’t want. The order in iTunes is the order I want to play them in.
Is it possible to import the songs in the order I already have them in the original playlist?

If you import a whole playlist, a playlist in Stage Traxx is also created with the correct order. The song tab always displays all songs alphabetical order by default. So please take a look at the playlists tab.

I'm over Onsong instability and lack of backup support let alone the now Subscription to an App that crashes. Might give this a go. I run my lighting from Onsong can I do that with Stage Traxx 3?
If your lighting can be controlled via MIDI, then it should work. You can find a video about MIDI integration on this channel.
QUESTION: WHY DON'T LYRICS SYNC ? (I pasted lyrics and edited into iPhone then opened up second iPhone- song synced via icloud but no lyrics)
To answer that you need to send me the logfiles from both devices through Settings > Create support email. And also tell me which song is not syncing.

Any USB Interface that works on iOS is supported by Stage Traxx.

Just found about your app from Scott Url. Long, long time OnSong user. Looks like I may have found a new app :). Bought the full version and I am testing things out. I am currently going the MIDI capabilities. I want to be able to send MIDI commands to a SingularSound Beat Buddy drum machine. Been doing this for quite some time now in OnSong. Struggling a bit to get ST3 to work. Here's the OnSong format: CC0.4:6@0. (The Beat Buddy counts 0 as a number, so you have to subtract 1). This command tells the Beat Buddy (assigned to MIDI Ch 1. Confusing I know) to select folder 3, song 5. I tried this in ST3 using CC3.5@1 embedded in the lyrics and it didn't work. The iPad is connected to the BeatBuddy use an iConnect mio midi cable and ST3 sees it as an output.
Looking at the Onsong manual your Syntax CC0.4:6@0 makes no sense. What does 0.4 mean?
According to the manual of the beat buddy, you should send PC4.2@1 to select song 5 in folder 3.
@@stagetraxx I believe this SingularSound’s syntax. It’s my understanding that the 0. is the Most Significant Bit and the .4 (in this case) is Least Significant Bit. Since we’re dealing with binary, the LSB has a max value of 128. If I wanted to select folder 129, I would enter, 1.0. Again, this just my understanding of it. The whole MSB.LSB comes more into play when programming tempo than folders. I thought the folder selection was a CC command. In OnSong, you don’t have to include it, so it I may be mixing up the two. Thank you for clearing that up, Peter. I will try that out and let you know how it works. If I can get working, ST3 will be my Go-To app and will help me transition away from OS. 👍
@@stagetraxx It’s been so long since I programmed all this in about five years ago, I am probably just confusing the CC and PC commands. Most of the programming is done using the OnSong app that you don’t even see the syntax. All of commands I manually enter, I picked up from the BeatBuddy Forum years ago.
@@stagetraxx Peter, just wanted to let you know I got it working. Your syntax was correct. This a little different than the syntax OnSong uses, plus they allow you to drop off the PC prefix. So, I just got my CC’s mixed up with my PC’s. I was also able to set the tempo with a CC command. All good in the hood, now. Thank you!!!
i have a question please, if i create a song, attach a wav file of the song, but on stage, i only want to see the lyrics, how do i go about doing this without having the wav file playing, thanks
Well if you do not need a playback, create a lyrics only song. Another option would be to turn down the song volume.
@@stagetraxx I am using a Yamaha tyros five keyboard that has an internal hard drive. We’re all my songs are. I use the keyboard to play the tracks, but I’m trying to find a way to have a back up of the files if ever the internal hard drive on the keyboard has a problem
@@MrDecibel123 In that case I would just turn down the iPad hardware volume (buttons) down. That way your song volumes could be setup in a consistent way so that you would just need to turn up your iPad volume to take over.

What do you mean? The next song will only play automatically if you explicitly enable autoplay.

Hi… I’ve downloaded the free version for now and when I try to import songs from ITunes (now Apple Music) the screen is just blank with no artist info whatsoever… Any tips? Thanks in advance 👍🏻
Edit: I’ve put the app onto my phone (originally was on iPad) and I can access my songs. Went into settings on iPad and access is granted for my music library but still no joy
@@gavindont Stage Traxx will only show songs that are not copy protected. I guess you have an Apple Music subscription and that contains only copy protected songs.
But I can access Apple Music ‘protected’ songs in my phone for some reason …
@@gavindont Maybe these are songs you bought on the phone. But anyway. Just import them on the phone, then create a full backup file in Stage Traxx and restore that on your other devices or just enable Cloud Sync.
@@stagetraxx I think there may be a work around, it seems I can access Playlists from the iPad so I guess I can throw my tracks in there and see how it goes… Thanks for getting back to me so promptly

The free version has a 6 song limit. The full version has no limit.

No, Stage Traxx is not a midi file player. Only audio files can be played back.

Do you also always have 120 bpm, wenn you import a track? I tried everything....((((( All the BPM's are shown corrent on iTunes, so they are put correctly (I even used special Tag-Software), but nothing helps:((((( Anybody with the same problem? PLEASE HEEEEEELP
Default value is always 120bpm. But that value is only used to send midi clock signal (if enabled). It has no other use in Stage Traxx.

@@stagetraxx exactly that was my purpose👍 I just wanted to send the midi clock of each song in a playlist in Stage Traxx 3 to another FX-apps and plug-ins on my iPad and so synchronize the BPM everywhere. I also found some good software solutions to detect the right BPM of each MP3, and after that to write it into a I D3v2 tag, but even when a I don’t all the steps I still get only 120 BPM… is there any way to fix it?
@@kolobokobol Version 3.8 will be able to read the id3 bpm tag when importing songs.
Hi Peter, i have an in issue with AUTOPLAY turned on the next song played is a random choice and not the next song in the playlist. What am I doing wrong?
ST will always play the song that is marked as NEXT. So if you switch to another playlist and select a song there, this will be played as the next song.

@@phil-saxman2318 Could you maybe explain in detail what you are doing? If you select a song in a playlist, ST will continue playing the songs from this playlist until you select something else. So I can‘t imagine how random songs would be played in your case.

I have created a playlist
I turn on autoplay
I start with the first song on my playlist
At the end of this song it automatically goes to another song the playlist which is somehow randomly assigned to play as ‘NEXT’
I just want the songs to play automatically in the order of the playlist which is my preferred track running order
I have no idea why this one song is assigned as ‘next’
@@phil-saxman2318 When you tap on a song while the first is playing, that song will be selected as the next song. So my only explanation right now is that you tap on one of the songs in the playlist while playback is running.

I am not aware of any bugs with scrolling. Make sure autoscrolling is enabled in lyrics settings. And then adjusted the scrolling tempo during playback or add timestamps to the lyrics. I made a dedicated tutorial video about this.

do you set athe play list order. I don't want it in idiot alphabet order or oldest to newest I want it in the order I want it. Do i have to lookfor the next son after every song in which case this program is useless to me and I've wasted and lost my money again on useless bloody programs that don't do as I want such as allow me to set the order of the song in my setlist pretty bloody basic if ya ask me
You can sort songs in a playlist manually or automatically. Whatever you prefer.

amazing app, unfortunately after I bought the complete version I realized that other band members need to buy a full access app too to "join" the host session. I think it s really expensive and not fair so I abandoned for a band but I use it for my solo live!
