I'm a big footed female drummer lol
Me too
Learn to skate same idea just toe to ball of foot.
Same 😭
Profile pic checks out

I could not get this technique to work, but this explains it perfectly!!! 🙏😅
A huge thumbs up from a small fitted American in Japan. I love your tutorials
For anyone that wants extra explanation:
You can also use the swivel technique and the ankle techniques to play double kick. This heel toe technique is also used to play double kick as well. Unfortunately, she only shows her right foot using the technique but if she used her left you would be able to see its use when it comes to double kick.
Also important to note is that you can play doubles by simply practicing the slide technique - which is much more useful for double strokes.
TL:DR Heel-toe for double kick (or swivel or ankle technique) when it comes to high speeds (if low speeds just use full leg motion).
Slide technique for one-legged doubles (don’t use heel technique).
I’m just barely playing 16th notes at 190 bpm with heeltoe and I gotta say this is one of those techniques that feels weird until it doesnt. Keep practicing 🤘🏼
I’m gonna need this for any System of a Down song
I love all your videos and your training. You are awesome! You are one of my favorite drum teachers. Thank you for your expertise and your God-given musical talent - Love Ya
Thanks coach .. gonna try this . Funny thing is .. been doing this for about 2 years - still lost .. worse than a beginner . Hate the fact that occasionally it comes through while practicing.. but that's like catching Haleys comet or .. any other things that comes once in a blue moon
"Sound's a bit odd, dunnit!" your humor is appreciated almost as much as your skills. Good musician.
Fast footwork, coordination is very good lady drummer! 🥁 ❤
Good exercise! Thx! 😎
In fact it works perfect for double kicks all along the way, so here the rebound and speed is the key
Love it well executed ❣️
With a size16 shoe I've adapted a slide technique with the ball of my foot. So ball-toe😊
Nice Docs!
Great shoes!!
Serious question, I am not of the small footed lesser spotted male variety, and I take my shoes off to get heel toe stuff going. Is there an alternative? Because my leg is killing me.
What part of your leg is killing you?
Practice = muscle endurance
@@coiLz0r911 my thigh. My teacher commented and said the pedal wasn’t springing back enough and I was moving my foot too much, but after tightening the springs it’s got a lot worse.
Learn heel toe the way others do, myself included. Ball of your foot, then toe. You'll like it better lol. Check 66samus for his Heel toe tutorial 😊
@@citywitt3202 warm up and stretch before any activity that requires physical movement.
Well i just figured out why I can’t do this anymore lol. 25 years old now, last time i did this technique i was probably 12 with much smaller feet. I have the same double bass pedal now and this method no longer works and I couldn’t quite figure out why 😂
I need to try playing in Docs sometime 🔥🔥🔥
Love ya work lady‼️✌️
Just curious... what is the technique for the large footed?
FINE JOB❤❤😊😊
i have a size 14.5 shoe at 15yrs 😅
Do you have to really stomp hard with your actual heel on the ground/pedal or is it more of a soft/fine motion using the heel part of the foot?
That's why drummer's
should take "Tap-Dancing" class,
Along with "juggling"
Class; eye/feet conditioning, coronation!
I can play that technique ❤
I have no feet prosthetic 😢
Is it possible with 46 foot?
You would need a bigass pedal for that
Drumming in Tims lol Props!
Those are most definitely not Timberlands.
Doc Martens
small footed male checking in.
Is there a way to make this possible with an electronic drum kit?
Well that depends on your kit. If you have a pedal with a beater it's just the same.
Its so hard to do with 12.5 size...
What should big footed fellas do?
Wear big socks
Get bigger pedal
You don't actually use your heel to strike the pedal, it's more about striking your heel on the ground or base plate which makes the middle of your foot strike the part of the pedal that moves the beater. But having bigger pedals will help and also direct vs chain drive makes a difference too. I have size 14 shoes and ended up with a trick drums big foot pedal that's been perfect
no Bleed as an example?
Not understanding the explanation 😕
I just cant get this with my size 11 feet. There must be a way LOL
Ok any tips for those that wear clown shoes ?
This isnt suggested for everyone and its not a common method of learning. Do you play with the butt of your stick? No. Just as playing in the hands are all in the wrists, the feet are all in the ankles. Dont be misled by this (newcomers)
I have big feet and the heel technique is not possible with most pedal sizes because the front of my shoe would touch the chain at the front.
You dont have to hit the pedal with your heel, its more like a stomp and then toe, watch Drumeo video for it
Am I the only one who uses a bare foot? I couldn't wear Doc Martens like that.😂 Seriously, videos like this and ones that describe how to properly set up the pedal have increased my speed exponentially in a very short time.
Never skip leg day? I mean heel & toe polka day... Now slide slide slide slide
Granny shifting and not double clutching like you should 😏
Heal toe😊
Have you a solution for me: I'm a clown and my feet are 72 cm long.
Man, as a large footed non binary drummer, I wish they made peddles big enough for me to do this with
