    For anyone that wants extra explanation:
    You can also use the swivel technique and the ankle techniques to play double kick. This heel toe technique is also used to play double kick as well. Unfortunately, she only shows her right foot using the technique but if she used her left you would be able to see its use when it comes to double kick.
    Also important to note is that you can play doubles by simply practicing the slide technique - which is much more useful for double strokes.
    TL:DR Heel-toe for double kick (or swivel or ankle technique) when it comes to high speeds (if low speeds just use full leg motion).
    Slide technique for one-legged doubles (don’t use heel technique).

    I’m just barely playing 16th notes at 190 bpm with heeltoe and I gotta say this is one of those techniques that feels weird until it doesnt. Keep practicing 🤘🏼

    Thanks coach .. gonna try this . Funny thing is .. been doing this for about 2 years - still lost .. worse than a beginner . Hate the fact that occasionally it comes through while practicing.. but that's like catching Haleys comet or .. any other things that comes once in a blue moon

    • @AntonioDoesMetal
      @AntonioDoesMetal Před 4 měsíci +4

      You don't actually use your heel to strike the pedal, it's more about striking your heel on the ground or base plate which makes the middle of your foot strike the part of the pedal that moves the beater. But having bigger pedals will help and also direct vs chain drive makes a difference too. I have size 14 shoes and ended up with a trick drums big foot pedal that's been perfect

    This isnt suggested for everyone and its not a common method of learning. Do you play with the butt of your stick? No. Just as playing in the hands are all in the wrists, the feet are all in the ankles. Dont be misled by this (newcomers)

  • @whanowa

    I have big feet and the heel technique is not possible with most pedal sizes because the front of my shoe would touch the chain at the front.
