Same. I was never more glad for an intermission, just so I could settle down & catch my breath. My favorite part was actually how the show 'starts' as everyone is coming in & finding their seats.
This reminds me of a tedious amateur melodrama I saw many years ago. The finale featured a gun hidden in a briefcase and at the crucial moment, the actor found the briefcase was locked and he couldn't open it to reveal the gun. He literally mimed opening the briefcase and made his fingers into a gun to shoot the protagonist - even shouting 'BANG!'. I really felt for the actors later on but at the time I nearly wet myself with laughter!
Every Christmas I look forward to if they do another play because they are usually shown on the BBC They even did a whole show last time! I hope they do another series if it's possible
As I'm dependent on medical oxygen I'm not sure I'd be able to survive an entire show, unless paramedics were in attendance. I had to whack the dial up to full flow just to get through this without turning blue! Absolutely magnificent.
I saw these guys live in London "The bank robbery that goes wrong." Never laughed so much in my life, just couldn't draw breath. Whatever you do with the rest of your life, go and see one of their shows before you die.
@@kenlieck7756 Yes, because afterwards you will have an eternity of regret. ... And I also saw it in London and it was hilarious. All the tourists were going to the musicals, so this was mainly a British audience, who laughed a lot.

Saw this in London, then again a few years later at a local theatre . Funniest thing I have ever seen. Extremely clever and with some go the gags if the timing was out there would have been some real bodies on stage !
I also want to see the full show again....we had it at Theatre On The Bay, in Camps Bay, South Africa. I was all excited when I saw this 'clip' pop up on my FB page and disappointed when it was only part of the show.
Its been a long time since I really laughed this much watching a video. Normally it’s a smile or chuckle but this made me actually laugh a few times. Loved it.
I watched another groups performance of this show a while back, and by intermission I genuinely thought it was having an asthma attack from laughter. I don’t know if I ever properly got my breath back until after the show was well over…
OMG, OMG, I've been there! I played Shannon in a local production of The Night of the Iguana. We rehearsed for eight weeks! By opening night, we were all thoroughly sick of the damn thing. The director's main concern was to produce a convincing rain on stage. There's a scene in Act Three where Shannon is tied up in a hammock. One night the rope gave way and I fell to the floor. The rest of the cast carried on as if nothing had happened. I wasn't particularly amused at the time, but now I think it's a scream.
Saw this two years ago here in Vegas at The Smith Center and loved it. And am thrilled that it was added just a week ago to this comings Broadway series
I've been doing amateur theatre for almost 15 years now and I've had some crazy experiences on stage from people collapsing or injuring themselves to forgetting their lines or jumping over entire sections of the play. We've had props gone missing, part pf the stage collapsing, etc
The same group did a 6 episode series for BBC1 last year. I'd never seen the live shows and had no idea what to expect. It was wonderful!! The one entitled, The Pilot (Not the Pilot) was a complete comedic masterpiece*. I've never seen anything so funny (and so silly!) in my life. What superb pantomime this is. Bravissimo! *My alliteration should really have been better there...
My favourite one of series 1 was the crime one, with the ridiculously undersized courtroom. Hysterical every time. Series 2 is on now in case you didn't catch it - its shamefully under advertised by the Beeb.
I wonder if they changed the guest spots each time? (the showgirl is Kylie Minogue, the singer doing warm ups at the end is Josh Groban, and Jack Whitehall in the rigging, yes?)
The Play That Goes Wrong A shame, but tonights viewing was fantastic. Hope the Peter Pan Goes Wrong comes here one day. And tonight I discover there's a Nativity Goes Wrong. Want to see that now too.
It's a while since I've seen this. I still think that the guy who introduces the whole thing reminds me alternately of both John Cleese AND Michael Palin. Good trick if you can do it.
i STILL dont know whether they use a maniquine or not for the knocked out Florence... it dosnt look like a dummy but pulling her arm and leg cant be good on an actress!
It's really her. The pulling (like most of the stunts in the show) is actually relatively simple and not dangerous at all once, but because they have to do it 8 times a week they all have to do proper circus training to ensure they don't hurt themselves. She's not really knocked out though. There's a hidden doorstop that she stands behind and falls over at the perfect time.
I wondered about all the pulling she had to undergo also. Couldn't have been fun. The "getting hit with the door" I can see how they did it, but the actually pull up, ouch!
