- SCP 343 is a Safe Class anomaly also known as God.
SCP 035 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as Possessive Mask.
SCP-343 is a male, seemingly race-less, humanoid in appearance with apparent omnipotence. SCP343 was discovered walking the streets of Prague and detained after a staff member witnessed him disappear from the streets and reappear on a rooftop. SCP-343 is detained willingly in his chamber, as containment has proved impossible.
SCP-035 appears to be a white porcelain comedy mask, although, at times, it will change to tragedy. A highly corrosive and degenerative viscous liquid constantly seeps from the eye and mouth holes of SCP035 .
Subjects within 1.5 to 2 meters (5-6 feet) of SCP-035, or in visual contact with it, experience a strong urge to put it on. When SCP-035 is placed on the face of an individual, an alternate brain wave pattern from SCP-035 overlaps that of the original host, effectively snuffing it out and causing brain death to the subject.

Man, it's a shame MTF squads don't move in more than groups of 2, don't communicate to learn what scp was stolen, and apparently don't carry guns. Otherwise, I feel like this whole scenario could've been averted.

It's possible they were ordered to capture the thief alive, to interrogate and find out if it's a stand alone thief, and if so how did it know about the mask and its whereabouts, or if he was part of another GOI and to what purpose they wanted the mask.
And splitting up a task force into smaller fire teams would be standard procedure to cover more ground in search of the thief, cover the exits, safeguard the perimeter, hunt down possible enemy reinforcements, etc.
Somehow he could throw highly trained MTF operatives off him.

Honestly this is a running trend with these kinda SCP Stories. So often these stories are full of plot holes and seem tp forget that the SCP Foundation is supposed to be a superpower with far more resources, trained soldiers, and ruthlessness then modern militaries.
In "reality", no way a single-actor heist would even get off the ground. ID cards would likely need to be verified at some sort of highly guarded checkpoint, and even if he could get past them, the MOMENT anything out of the ordinary occured with a Keter-class anomaly would have been met with extreme prejudice. Interrogation is a valid argument, since this thief apparently had tools that not even the Foundation has been able to develop: The means to suppress the Mask's call and securely contain said mask... But the moment that mask left the bag? He would have been shot before he could do anymore damage, regardless of who he was.
I’m sorry, but whether 343 is some of the SCP multi-verses of god or not (not saying he is for all the SCP Multi-verses) I don’t see 343 with his all knowing powers fall for 035 manipulation and put it on. Manipulation is at its most effective on those ignorant of the fact they could be manipulated. Awareness diluted of not cancel out the manipulation
It says he went through the motions but didn't feel any real compulsion. Very likely 343 wanted to put it on just to see how it'd be to have ultimate power but no morals to hold him back. In all likelihood, eventually, 343 would take it off, and either undo everything or just let it be to balance all of the good he's done.

And the harder you try to answer those questions the harder it is to understand. I know because I tried to get a complete understanding of the theory without using Rick and Morty as a reference. At least the creators of Rick and Morty tries to simplify it to where the audience will understand.

But there can also possibility, 343 can't perceive 035 (like when 343 can't perceive 682)
And can also be due to 343 being not omnipotent in this form (based on one of 343's dialog to himself) so there might be a possibility that he isn't fully powerful/immune to other anomalies (since the witch child could be a far stronger reality warper than him)
So who knows really, anything can be canon as there is not one.

Uh .. no 682 is that hard to destroy reptile. It's not 343's creation according to their interaction through one of the test logs.
At some point somebody needs to realize that all of these big keter classes need to be stored in different sites as far apart as humanly possible. If the Foundation refuses to shoot shit like this into space which would solve 99% of their problems then they can at least recognize that keeping all their most dangerous, intelligent, malicious shit in the same place is a real good way to make much bigger problems.

issue is, what if we shot something like the mask into space and after a time it finds a host of some super powerful alien or reality bender and decideds to return to earth and wreck havok, at least in containment we know who it interacts with
SCP-343 was trolling, he let the mask takes control of him out of curiosity (and for the sake of this hybrid SCP video). Pretty sure he's conscious and he can take out the mask on his own whenever he want to.
The story even says he wasn't compelled but 'went through the motions'. Looks like he was planning this all along. Kind of like a 'Satan and God the entire time, two sides of the same coin' scenario and the mask is how he excuses himself into balancing the equation.
Yes I'm very much shure it was only an experiment. He was able to rrevive the thieve out of 035s grasp, so why on earth should 343 not be able to put himself ou of this? I gues this was one of Dr.Brights games, he was ploting all this with 343s consent in advance and might even be the client of the thieve. Where else did he get the photograph of 035? But, most importantly, the taking the measures os just to do a game of playing not-God by pretending not having control, as he always does acording to the "A Day in Life of SCP 343" Vid. As a somewhat oposite of psychopathic humans trieing to play God, 343 will break free from 035 as soon the destrucrion gets enough, reversing all the damage with a flip of fingers.

Tele-Kill does not fully block 35's abilities. It merely dampens it. That is likely what was woven into the bag to carry 35 in.

Well sure, but the story also states that 343 knew of all things. So it would have known of the mask in the first place, and there's little that could have stopped it from going to put it on. Nor would there be any reason to, he could do it at any time with or without the mask. And if SCP 343 IS god, then he's done a good balance of good and bad.
Of course as usual the apocalypse will be started by some idiot screwing around.

I have to disagree with this one. SCP-343 is far more powerful than SCP-035. It simply would not be able to control him, or at least not for long. I kept expecting 343 to break the control, return things to normal, or even send our protagonist back to before his terrible choice.
Honestly not a fan of this video because of that. I know it is more interesting, but it is lore breaking. And this channel, at its heart, is an SCP lore channel.

Maybe it's supposed to be (in part) symbolic of something: like how the first two humans (Adam and Eve) gave in to temptation by the words of the Serpent.
God gave in to temptation because he's now among the world of man instead of in his kingdom.
God is now playing the part of Adam&Eve, and the mask is both the devil&the forbidden fruit.
Just like how God (claims) he can't destroy SCP-682, saying "he's not one of mine" it could be the same for 035. It's like a librarian coming across a book that they never knew was in the collection they had been overseeing for 50+ years, or when museums and archives find long forgotten pieces they were stored long ago; it's totally new to them.
If God didn't create the possessive mask himself, then he would have no way of stopping himself from giving in to it.
It would explain why God was able to bring back Kasdan after the mask took over (he is a creation of God) yet did not destroy the mask outright after removing its hold on Kasdan.
Yet I don't quite understand the ending of the video: is Kasdan now dead again, and his whole life is flashing before his eyes (looking back with regret for what he did) or has Kasdan's present day mind been sent back into his past self's body to prevent himself from accepting the job to steal the mask (X-Men: Days of Future Past, style)?

Well, the Gate Guardian is only an angel. Sure, he's an extremely powerful being, but I don't think an angel could match up with God.
999, on the other hand... A definite "maybe". He's the son of The Scarlet King, a god that has been killing and subjugating other gods for eons, and The Tickle Monster is said to be capable of taking on his fearsome father someday, so maybe he could also take on a rogue 343.
I think that if other gods, like olimpians bad together, they could beat the god.
SCP-239 is powerful enough to face SCP-343. SCP-3812 is way beyond SCP-343. Possibly a Pattern Screamer can overpower Him also.

I can only imagine this is a god that is only doing it to teach an overaching lesson to the parasite. like I could unironically imagine that the end of that whole scenario could go about with god takes off the mask. looks at him all the while the world itself is undamaged, "did that bring you any true form of satisfaction?"
The same one that showed John the vision of the book of Revelations. Instead of the Crimson King being the big bad, 343 was the bad all along.. but also the good because Revelations has an 'and they lived happily ever after' at the end.
What would happen if Dr. Bright wore the mask. Jack's soul is technically in the medalian piloting his host body, but the mask usually takes over a persons consciousness so it can use the body as it's own host.
Would the mask be unable to do anything since Jack's consciousness isn't in the body or would they both be co-piloting the body?

Has there ever been a scenario of 035 getting on 682's face? I suspect it would result in a much more horrifying version of when the Foundation tried to overwrite 682's personality with Dr Bright, and the lizard would adapt to the mental influence and throw it off.

No offense, but these seem rather pointless. The GOC and Chaos Insurgency would have no interest in the Infinite Ikea since it doesn't serve to benefit either of their goals. Besides, the Foundation wouldn't allow the SCP's anywhere near it.

At around 7 minutes in, they name the mask in a way that made it sound like a reveal. I think the video would have benefited from it actually being a reveal, with pains taken to hide what was actually in the dufflebag. You know, don't actually show what he's stealing, or the exact properties of the special earpieces, special bag, or special gloves, until that 7 minute mark.
I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I can't wait for a part 2!

I believe that scp 343 wouldn't put on scp 035, his will and strength of mind would be too great for the mask
I kept expecting 343 to take the mask off and be like "Huh. Neat." Before continuing to talk to Kasdan and ignore the Mask trying to possess him but I suppose this a good lesson in both how alternate realities can be created and why we shouldn't let certain SCPs EVER near one another. If there's a part 2 of this, maybe the Foundation's plan is to put Dr. Bright's amulet into 343-035 hybrid so that they can have a chance in removing the mask. Imagine if the ending of that is Dr. Bright being in control of 343.
I genuinely feel like if God put on the Mask, the Mask would become truly terrified. 343 is God canonically in the SCP universe(s), so he would more than likely be able to control 035’s impulses and destructive behaviours.

As interesting as this is, I’m fairly certain this isn’t actually how things would go. I know many people have said similar things, but I do feel it seems fairly unrealistic, at least with how I understand it. Then again, we really don’t know the extent of the mask’s power, but 096 was able to overwhelm the mask when it looked at it, so that’s another factor. I feel like if 343 really wanted to, he could extremely easily overpower the mask.
The story states that 343 wasn't compelled, but he 'went through the motions'. Feels like it was all a setup by 343 Himself as a means to start the apocalypse. Not His fault if He was 'controlled' into doing it.

Nah. If you have read Revelations, this seems like an scp universe way of 343 starting things up. Remember though that this version discounts the New Testament. 343 is straight up Yahweh as interpreted in the old testament except a bit nicer.

I'm not a textbook definition of Christian, but even if I was atheist, you can't convince me that a god would be tempted to put on a possessive mask, much less be controlled by it. In this universe, given the near limitless power and knowledge of God, he would know about the existence of this mask and be strong enough to not just shrug it off, but ignore it altogether. If he put it on, it's mental powers wouldn't have any affect either. The story contradicts itself in so many ways, even excluding the previous stories where it couldn't do anything to stop the Shy Guy in its rage state, meanwhile God was able to quell him without breaking a sweat. I know y'all are just covering the tale, but the person who wrote it clearly wasn't thinking logically about what they were writing. I give points to the writer for coming up with something creative all the same, but even if it wasn't part of the broader SCP universe, it simply does not work. Someone with this much power could not possibly or plausibly fall victim to the masks possessive abilities. Same applies if it was indeed the SCP Explained script writers who put this together, at which point I give even more creativity points, because y'all are my SCP bias. I mean no disrespect, but this story just doesn't logically make any sense.

Like, I think it was said that this SCP may not actually be God, and he could either be misleading the foundation into believing he is, or he's arrogant enough to believe it himself. Even if that was the case though, he is still very clearly a powerful reality-bending omnipotent being to a certain degree, and he still should not be influenced by this mask.

The only problem with this one that I see is I don't think the Possessive Mask really has the power to possess 343 if he really is god.
What if 096 wore the mask? Would it’s anomalous properties be inactive if nothing can see its face? Would the mask be disappointed with the limitations? Or would it have full control of infinite speed and strength?

Like the whole episode is 343 messing with 035 by deluding it into thinking it has everything it ever wanted when really it was just placed back into it's box.
I would expand SCP-035 classification not only as Keter, with additions of disruption class of Vlam, and risk class of Critical.
At the same time, SCP-343's classification would be expanded with additions of disruption class as Amida, and risk class of Notice.
Love the combination of 2 scps with great power and unimaginable probability honestly thought god would have destroyed the mask.

As many have pointed out, this could work in a simulation only. There's no way for the mask to control SCP-343 aka God. Lately I want to hear more about giant SCP -- likely huge (much bigger than the Earth). Like Ego (marvel) the living planet or Pyron from Dark Stalkers (his actual body is as big as a galaxy). Darkseid (DC comics) resides in a different universe where his body is so big that he would tear this universe apart if he gets in.

A mask that can possess an omnipotent god, some shy guy that measures up to an omnipotent god, a lizard with a plot armor that survives literally everything by "adapting" in the most retarded ways possible... the list is becoming far too long. Stop breaking the world building by making a "who can bid higher" festival. Wanna leave your mark? Write something that makes some logical sense from some perspective, don't take an SCP and turn it into an invincible mary sue.

As interesting as this concept is, i dont believe SCP 343 God would be so weak minded as to succumb to the malevolent will of 035. Omnipotence sort of precludes the possibility of external mind control, even via an anomolous effect.
