    The Ribble Viaduct is a disgrace, it is a grade 2 listed building but the intention seems to be to allow it to rust into the river. Such neglect should not be allowed.

      They wasted so much money on HS2 that they could not be bothered to maintain existing lines - Network Rail is a disgrace, the trade unions are also too powerful

    • @anonthemous7437
      @anonthemous7437 Před 4 měsíci +6

      @@michaeljohndennis2231 are you under the impression that somehow the unions want less works done on the railway, and would prefer it rot than to have jobs?

    • @najaB76
      @najaB76 Před 13 dny

      @@michaeljohndennis2231 False. HS2 has been funded by borrowing specifically for HS2.
      They didn't take money out of other pots to pay for it, which also means that cancelling Phase 2 didn't make money available for other purposes.

    Happy to see another trip from you - I'd never seen the Liverpool independent line, so something new and great! Even more of a thrill was the Claymills crossing at 13 minutes in - the Victorian building on the left is the Claymills Pumping Station that I'm part of the team restoring and running - and the car behind the motorbike at the crossing gate is mine!

Another trip to savour and take in on wet rainy, windy and snowy afternoons in Atlantic Canada. Fantastic video Ben, some of these unusual routings are very interesting, Crewe Independent lines and especially the one around Earlstown, by far freight traffic is the most interesting to watch, for two reasons mainly, one the slower speeds enables us to enjoy more of the rail infrastructure and secondly the unusual routings, can't wait for the next video.

    Super video! I assume, from the somewhat eccentric routing, that there was some 'route refreshing' involved. I particularly liked the 110/125 mph 'slow' lines. I believe the train includes Mk2 stock, so is the speed limited to 100 mph?
    Definitely looking forward for more!

    • @beneliastrains
      @beneliastrains  Před 7 měsíci +3

    • @beneliastrains
      @beneliastrains  Před 7 měsíci +3

      Cheers! HSTs can do HST speeds or normal linespeeds, not EPS. EPS is pendo and voyager only. In this case the train is not an HST - it's a traditional loco hauled train with mk2 and mk1 derived rolling stock and so can only do 100mph and normal line speeds.
