- Riding new urban MTB freeride spots is the best! We ride around Milton Keynes hitting gap jumps with the MTB hopper portable ramp, stair sets and a drainage ditch on our dirt jump and enduro bikes! Which spot was the best?
Me and Tom Cardy packed our vans and headed out to Milton Keynes which is filled with endless urban MTB freeride lines and obstacles like, stair sets, skateparks, perfect locations for the portable kicker ramp and the famous drainage ditch which never gets old to ride! We start of the session on our custom Haibike dirt jump bikes at a perfect wallride spot with huge flat banks on either side making for a fun session before switching on to our Electric bikes and hitting a huge stair gap in the streets. From here we cruised to a number of different and new spots including a jumpable roundabout in the middle of the road and a 90 degree bench that's made for manuals! It was then time to get out the portable kicker ramp and see how big we could go, these kinds of exploring and riding sessions are the best and I hope you like them too?

I love urban mountain-biking! I'm so glad I bought a strong, capable mountain bike instead of a hybrid or a commuter bike, because I've become obsessed with riding stairs.
I JUST discovered you. I am turning 44 this year. last year I bought a REI CO-OP model. It's yet to see a hill , sadly.....
As a child, I lived on my GT/Redline/Mongoose/Robinson's. I am talking about waking up at 7-6 AM during summer ( as in NO school) and starting my "sessions". This was before I understood these were "sessions". I LIVED for this- literally... I would attempt to get my friends involved, no dice... I still stayed peddling. MASSIVE amounts of of "MTB playground" in my childhood area. Mind you, Mountain Bikes were just becoming POPULAR. I recall RokShok's debuting, and everyone, and I mean EVERYONE ridiculing them. Mountain bikes at the time had a LONG way to come, before being what they are today. I recall taking all my BMX bikes, and modifying them as much as I could, and adapting myself, to downhill bombing. Once I discovered this, i was INSTANTLY addicted. We had a couple of "named" downhill areas in our suburban area. I conquered them all , and them some. I was free, and anger-less.
Once I got my license and a job, I forgot about my Zen practice of solo riding. I forgot about my 2 wheeled heaven. I forgot about a HUGE part of ME. I got wrapped on life, crime, drugs, drama ...
Tomorrow. I am free of all that. Tomorrow I ride. Tomorrow, it's just me , the bike, and the mountain. Tomorrow I am ME.

Wanna say that was one of the best vids you’ve made in a while :) not trying to throw shade on your other efforts haha but it’s really cool boiling it down to the basics, couple of mates mucking about on their bikes you know :) it was like, not for the cameras and not for the viewers but it was like a fly on the wall of a day when sam and tom went out riding, deffo brung back those late evening summer hangouts when everyone was just trying stuff and bouncing off each other :) really fun and nice to watch :) haha i sound like such a knob 🤦♂️ ..but yeah, really cool 🤙 …also, i know it’s a bit sad to bring fashion in to it but sam you deffo look better with a fresh cut mate ;) lol looking fresh!
