Some people already have grim expectations going into the show and aren't very surprised by anything, so they weren't SSC in the first place. Others will be shocked by Ned's death but then toughen up completely. Some will lose the character they care the most about at some point and never find another character they care so much about, or just toughen up and distance themselves, making the loss of their favourite character that point for them, and this can happen before or after the point you refer to. Some (albeit few) really don't find the event you refer to a very difficult moment because they just didn't care much about those characters. I've even seen reactors that were kinda happy to see them go because they didn't like them. On the other hand, there are lots of people who had naïve expectations all the way to the ending because they still thought things were going to follow the rules of storytelling they thought they knew. So that one moment is really not a SSC turning point for everyone.
There was information she missed from the dialog that answered questions she asked later because while you are taking you are formulating what you want to say and your attention is on that instead of what's going on.
From now on Ashley is the Official Susher. If she says "Shush!" Lindsay can't question the order. Ashley knew something important was coming and she was right. Lindsay was looking all over the place instead of concentrating on the show :) LOL great reaction.
I agree, Ashley was deeply into the end part and Lindsey just waffled on about nothing. She could not understand that it was an important scene for the other's watching. But please don't get me wrong I love Lyndsey she brings so much to this amazing trio...... It just was not her best moment.
@@Rasperdan sure, Lyndsey's personality is great. The problem is that this show is unique. The episodes are not independent from each other like basically every other show. On 99.5% of the shows you can figure things out just by watching and not listening. GoT is a beast of a show. Even when you don't talk at all you can get lost. "wow!" or "WTF!" are to me great reactions. Mouth opened for long periods of time too :)

Pycelle is clever. He knows that gossip spreads through the ... um ... through Lord Baelish's female entertainment division. Act like a harmless, doddering old fool around them while praising Joffrey and that is what everyone will hear through the gossip network. "Only death pays for life" - The speculation is the horse's death brought back Drogo. The death of the baby, Drogo, and the witch brought to life the 3 dragons.
There's a darker theory - that Miri switched their souls. So Drogo went into the dying horse and the horse went into Drogo but had no control over the body.
When Yoren tells the group of new recruits for the Night's Watch that it's "a thousand leagues to the wall", I don't think many reactors understand just how far that is. One league is about three miles -- so they're embarking on a THREE THOUSAND MILE hike to the Wall! That like traveling from the west coast of the U.S. all the way across to the East coast -- on what appears to be a slow march with a few horses and wagons! That's a ridiculously long journey that would take them months!

It is important to note that Rob would literally have to chop Jon's head off if he showed up there. He would have no choice. Jon can not go to help. The Nightswatch is riding out with a decent sized force - not ALL. He never said he was emptying Castle Black. He will leave a contingency force, of course, to guard.

What I absolutely love about that last scene is how Drogon's cry clashes with the ending theme song, and then actually overwhelms it, as if to say: "Yeah, no! This is MY show now!"

Here's a couple I've never heard of before: Pig Shit (green poop emoji?), The Queen Mustn't Know, or "Turn Back Around" (best Ygritte line ever). Great moments which, out of context, spoil nothing.

Wouldn't it be more fascinating and exciting to find out where the line (on the merch) comes from while watching the show and not be able to presume the moment it gets revealed ?! :) Therefore I would suggest a few, more subtle ones :) - "Power is power" (Cersei) - “Anyone can be killed” (Arya) ... which is, on top, a good hint about the whole show :) - “You know nothing, Jon Snow." They had to skip a year because GRRM didnt finish the next book so he asked HBO to skip a year to give him time to finish the book... meanwhile 10 years later he still hasnt finished that same book.
They had already passed not only the released books but the next book GRRM was working on when they skipped a year, which was for the last season, so that doesn't sound right to me. The reason I heard from them was that they wanted to film in winter instead of in summer, mainly for the outdoor locations and weather to look truly winterlike, but also because pushing the filming half a year would give them an extra half year to prepare in advance and an extra few months for post-production, so they could take their time getting it right.

By all means build up as much hate in your heart as you can ladies, but be sparing in how you dish it out just yet: you'll need plenty to go round, and you may need a top-up before the end of the series... Random non-spoiler notes: The reason the dragon eggs hatched was (probably) the combination of a Targaryen (they have a blood/magical connection to dragons), the fire, and the sacrifice of three lives: Khal Drogo, Miri Maz Dur (the "witch") and Danni's baby. Remember what Miri said? "Only death pays for life". The sacrifice of Drogo's horse earlier (probably) wasn't enough to do more than bring him back as a vegetable because it wasn't human. Ever since the dragons died out Targaryen kings have been trying to crack the secret of hatching dragon eggs: Danni seems ot have hit on the right formula by instinct (or was it destiny...?) Danny's baby being a still-born human/dragon hybris isn't unusual amongst Targaryen women. As I said, they have a blood/hereditary/magical connection to the dragons which is never fully explained but much speculated about. The books have quite the trail of breadcrumbs to figure out roughly what's going on with them, but it doesn't impact the show (GoT at least: HOTD is another matter). Widows burning themselves on their husband's funeral pyres, whether by choice or force, was a real thing in several cultures in history. It was very prevalent in pre-colonial India, where it was called Suttee. The British put a stop to that very firmly once they'd taken control of India.

Deleted scene so not really a spoiler but something they didn't feel like pushing further . The Maester and the whore scene...a deleted scene where Tywin calls him out for faking being a fool and The Maester explains exactly your theory and he uses it to survive all these snakes in the capital. So yes he's faking being foolish and hunched over. Weird to leave this scene in but not the later one.

Yeah, lol... I got in pretty late to the show and felt pretty spoiled; I didn't have to wait a year for the next episode, much less a week(!). What killed me was knowing these episode's came out on a Sunday NIGHT. How are you supposed to go to sleep after that?! Sure there'd be lots to talk about once you got to work, but having to drag oneself in that next day, lol. Loved this watchalong with y'all, can't wait for more.
Imagine living in Europe where it came out in the middle of the night, like 3 or 4 AM. The last two seasons, I had to set an alarm to get out of bed in the middle of the night if I couldn't just stay up late, because spoilers on Monday were unavoidable. 😕

Yes, a lot of Targaryens had stilborns with dragon features, because they themselves said they came from dragons, they said they were born of dragons.

You could go with some classics, like The Night is Dark and Full of Terrors, What is Dead May Never Die, or You Know Nothing Jon Snow.
Here's a couple I've never heard of before: Pig Shit (green poop emoji?), The Queen Mustn't Know, or "Turn Back Around" (best Ygritte line ever). Great moments which, out of context, spoil nothing.

Wouldn't it be more fascinating and exciting to find out where the line (on the merch) comes from while watching the show and not be able to presume the moment it gets revealed ?! :) Therefore I would suggest a few, more subtle ones :)

They had to skip a year because GRRM didnt finish the next book so he asked HBO to skip a year to give him time to finish the book... meanwhile 10 years later he still hasnt finished that same book.
One day... hopefully...
They had already passed not only the released books but the next book GRRM was working on when they skipped a year, which was for the last season, so that doesn't sound right to me. The reason I heard from them was that they wanted to film in winter instead of in summer, mainly for the outdoor locations and weather to look truly winterlike, but also because pushing the filming half a year would give them an extra half year to prepare in advance and an extra few months for post-production, so they could take their time getting it right.

Random non-spoiler notes:
The reason the dragon eggs hatched was (probably) the combination of a Targaryen (they have a blood/magical connection to dragons), the fire, and the sacrifice of three lives: Khal Drogo, Miri Maz Dur (the "witch") and Danni's baby. Remember what Miri said? "Only death pays for life". The sacrifice of Drogo's horse earlier (probably) wasn't enough to do more than bring him back as a vegetable because it wasn't human. Ever since the dragons died out Targaryen kings have been trying to crack the secret of hatching dragon eggs: Danni seems ot have hit on the right formula by instinct (or was it destiny...?)
Danny's baby being a still-born human/dragon hybris isn't unusual amongst Targaryen women. As I said, they have a blood/hereditary/magical connection to the dragons which is never fully explained but much speculated about. The books have quite the trail of breadcrumbs to figure out roughly what's going on with them, but it doesn't impact the show (GoT at least: HOTD is another matter).
Widows burning themselves on their husband's funeral pyres, whether by choice or force, was a real thing in several cultures in history. It was very prevalent in pre-colonial India, where it was called Suttee. The British put a stop to that very firmly once they'd taken control of India.

So watching it from season 1 you at least knew you only had a year to wait, or for those of us who like to wait until a season is completely finished before binging it on DVR, 14 months.

Deleted scene so not really a spoiler but something they didn't feel like pushing further . The Maester and the whore scene...a deleted scene where Tywin calls him out for faking being a fool and The Maester explains exactly your theory and he uses it to survive all these snakes in the capital. So yes he's faking being foolish and hunched over. Weird to leave this scene in but not the later one.

Yeah, lol... I got in pretty late to the show and felt pretty spoiled; I didn't have to wait a year for the next episode, much less a week(!). What killed me was knowing these episode's came out on a Sunday NIGHT. How are you supposed to go to sleep after that?! Sure there'd be lots to talk about once you got to work, but having to drag oneself in that next day, lol.
