Virtually everything in that scene is a hint. It's bizarre.

It's the smoothest use of foreshadowing I've ever seen in a video game.

@@NoHandleThisIsntTwitter Hey! It's so nice to hear from another YU-NO player! We're a rare species. (Spoilers below.)
Maybe Sayless was the prank caller all along, trying to send a warning to Takuya somehow from beyond the void...

Video Psybeam Very intersting theory! Yeah I wish I had more people to discuss Yu-No with.
I always thought it was Takuya’s dad, since it’s unclear exactly what he became or where he is at the end. Maybe he exists as energy and was trying to speak to Takuya through a phone (instead of the many times Takuya gets knocked out lol).
Who do you think the figure at the end of the opening next to Takuya’s dad is? Ayumi? Or perhaps Ryuzouji?

@@NoHandleThisIsntTwitter Plot Twist: The true prank caller WAS ERIKO IN DISGUISE!
But in all seriousness, I believe it was Sayless who had dropped the Jewel, and who was standing next to Takuya's dad at the end of the opening, ready to deliver him to the "stream of events." After all, doesn't Yu-no essentially do the same thing to Takuya at the end of the game?
...By the way, is there any place we can continue this conversation? Like Discord or Tumblr or something? It seems like we've both been looking for someone to talk about the game at length with...

Video Psybeam I thought Yu-No returned to Takuya at the end because the jewels always return to the Reflector once the jewel holder is no longer in the associated time/reality, the same way Takuya returns to his alternate reality when he returns a jewel.
I noticed while looking at the opening again, the figure is still next to the clock while the screen fuzzes out. Since we can assume we’re looking through the eyes of Takuya’s dad, you must be right about him being sent to the stream of events(the same thing happens to Takuya at the end of a route). I don’t know if it is Sayless though, the hair is pretty flat.
Maybe it’s his late wife? Since she came from an alternate time/reality, maybe she can travel time/reality freely too? If I remember, she was a priestess just like Yu-No, and maybe after the weird brain melding ritual she didn’t immediately die as well. Maybe a version of her was able to return to Takuya’s dad and take him with her?
I wish I knew a place where I could talk about Yu-No. I haven’t really looked it up too hard, but I think I tried and didn’t find anything productive.

I love these oscilloscope views. I'd be especially interested in seeing more of the wonderful shapes of special channel 3 modes or maybe SSG sample playback.
Can I ask how you create these?

the Xenon - Mugen no Shitai video has FM3 special mode displayed separately, and the Desire - Spiral one has them playing together on the same channel

@@r3nsk1 only trick I know is to have a VGM file and use multidumper, but I prefer hoot's sound than vgmplay's, so I just record it manually

This musical piece was composed by Keishi Yonao, in fact.

    • @pc-98love39
      @pc-98love39  Před 6 lety +22

It wasn't, the only ones who worked on the PC98 soundtrack were Ryu Umemoto, Ryu Takami and Kazuhiro Kanae. Keishi Yonao worked only on the Saturn and Remake's soundtrack. On Saturn he made a new opening and on the Remake he replaced Kazuhiro Kanae's tracks
