- EDIT (4 APR): WOW, why is this video blowing up suddenly? This is over a year old and got barely views when I first uploaded it! And I didn't even took much effort into editing... Now it got 32000 views in a week. CZcams algorhytm is strange... Anyway...
When I was playing Turf War, the first 30 seconds of my first match played out normally and then someone starts squid partying, accidentally turning the entire lobby into a Squid Party. This same lobby with almost the same arrangement of players continued for nearly 2 hours, well, until the next map rotation cancelled us out. Shoutouts to these players, it was really fun. I don't know who any of these people are... I WISH I'd do. There was no communication between me and them so everything here in this video happened by chance. Now enjoy this small collection of my favorite clips from this lobby.

Nintendo should just make a mode that's 100% dedicated for squidparties where all players are on the same team, so you don't even have to worry about getting back-stabbed. Squidparties in regular battles don't always work when you want them to because some people just want to play the game normally.
But if you're actually trying to squidparty in ranked battles then just *stop it*

Even though I don’t like squid partying myself, I usually let the friendlies chill and have fun. If I don’t want to join, I’ll start turfing but I won’t kill anyone. It’s really annoying when the friendlies start killing me when I’m just inking though
same and they will start squidbagging after killing me and i would get a bit angry so i would kill them back and squidbag at them
If they try to kill you, it’s probably because they think you are going to kill them. If they try to kill you, just start partying a bit to show that you’re friendly. Then go back to inking

This is why I got Splatoon 2. And on one of the first games I ever played, one guy (An Octoling) on the other team, created a heart for me(An Inkling at the time) But then he found me in the next few matches and made me hearts. That was my introduction to Splatoon 2. I still remember him well. We ended up having squid parties and we looked off into the horizon on the Manta Maria. It was amazing.

It's a crime shame that folks do squid parties as a distraction and when you join in... BOOM you get splatted by a hammer of the opposing team who made the party. I simply dont trust them bc of that...
Sucks cause today is my bday so an octo/squid party would make sense and would be kinda cool to have... (instead of the fear of getting splatted!!).

I just got the game from the demo (purchased right after so I'm pretty new) and just made it through my 2nd splatfest... We had two ppl who screamed this way. So l naturally go there to check if maybe they had an issue...

The other team are not the party type and we managed to win thank goodness. But still really?

I know I'm really bad at the game (I go by Boop so if you saw me, BOOYAH at me if ya like) I'm kinda bad but do try my hardest to be defensive on my play style (I'm a blobblobber, slosher, octo brusher person since I'm bad at aiming lol...) but I swear... If I get compared to those folks and they did Jack nothing to help then I'm gonna be a bit depressed lol..
I wouldn't mind to party! I would love to blast the stingray away or have a bubble party! But... not when it jeopardizes my teammates. Even if we lose, I would rather lose knowing we didnt try hard enough than to lose all bc of a party member who parties at the wrong time.

I remember once I was playing clam blitz, and then everyone but me and another player on the enemy team. We squid partied for like five minutes and he friended me somehow after. It was great lol.

I am cool with squidpartiers, sometimes I wish party with them or not if im not in the mood. I never try to splat one knowingly. Something I picked up from an old group I had in splatoon 1 was if you accidentally splatted a party squid then you splat yourself to show your sorry. No idea if this is something people actually do or if that was just my friend groups thing but I still do many years later even in Splatoon 3. Just a habit I guess.

My best advice is probably to squidbag back at them for a moment to let them know you aren't a threat. If they shoot you anyways, then I dunno.

I'm a competitive person bit when I see squid parties I usually join in most of the time. (Unless it's ranked it's splat or be splatted in that case.) There has been a few instances where I have accidentally splatted somebody before I've realized that they just wanted to vibe. It's always the most brutal splats too for some reason.

Fun fact: in splatoon you can't just leave and join a server, meaning that people who want to play a competitive match are forced to play with neanderthals who can't understand the words "private battle".
Im not sure if you understand what squid parties are made for; If you dont have friends, you cant make private battles, so squidparties are made to make friends, and if you dont have a way to comunicate, its difficult to make a private battle and make all the friends that are connected to join.
Moep · you can search in social media who want to squid party, not by random matchmaking searching a friend. You need to realize “a lot” of people tell you to squid party in private battle , even in turf it’s still not okay, I mean feel free to do it if you want to get reported & block

Some people in private battles betray you too. I was just in one yesterday, and this one person kept killing my team for no reason (even though private battles don’t give you points). so in reality, you can never win.
You can put them on spectate, sure, but you can only have 2 people on spectate at a time, and then they could annoy you more by never readying up and making you wait the whole minute for the round to start.

lol, this reminds me of when I was a noob in this game. The first time I saw a squidparty I thought it was weird, so I went over to see what it was about. Walking towards the party I got killed, and I wasn't even trying to kill them. I just wanted to see what was going on.
